there has been a ton of shit piled upon our peeps, we bear the burden.

every day for the past 2 weeks, this blog has been heaped with  bad news, heh.

    well..

new thread and a new week!  bring it, BITCH.

    it is what it is.

Comments and respectful debate are both welcome and encouraged.

Comments are the sole opinion of the comment writer, just as each thread posted is the sole opinion or post idea of the administrator that posted it or of the readers that have written guest posts for the Blogmocracy.

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

    Play nice!

70 Billion for a high speed train that will never go anywhere useful and that only those who anticipate making a fortune off even want. But they cannot find the funding to maintain California’s water resources.

They have known for 10 years about the problems with the Orville Dam, and they willfully and intentionally did nothing about it. Their actions should at the bare minimum be prosecuted on the grounds of criminal negligence.

Supposedly approved by the voters here, but with a 600,000 voter margin, well within the California Democrats margin of fraud. the Train to nowhere has been nothing but criminal fraud from start to finish.

The rush to blame is enormous.
The fingers point to Bush and to Ah-nold – well, it happened 10 years ago.
Maybe so, but the damage continued under Obama and Brown. And where did the stimulus money go, then? (Of course, we know it went to pay off state union workers so they could keep their jobs). It went to the high-speed rail to nowhere that no one wants.

Brown and Obama, in their supreme idiocy and belief in Globull Warming, never believed there would be reason to fix the Oroville dam. Hopefully, the 190,000 California residents they used as gambling chips will remember how the Democrats have effed up this state.

Prayers for everyone in the path of this. I have friends in Yuba City and Marysville.

BREAKING: Steve Mnuchin Confirmed As Treasury Sec…

President Trump has his economic right-hand man in place.

The Senate voted Monday evening to confirm Steven Mnuchin, a former investor, banker and Trump campaign official, to be the 77th secretary of the treasury.

Confirmation means that Mnuchin will be in a position to help carry out Trump’s ambitious agenda for cutting tax rates, lessening financial regulation and revamping trade agreements.

The treasury secretary is the top economic post in an administration, and Mnuchin’s swearing-in will go a long way toward filling out Trump’s understaffed Cabinet and, potentially, facilitating the president’s legislative agenda.

      53-47 vote

Come at this from a “progressive’s” viewpoint. a) they decry the damming of rivers and what that does to the “ecosystem” b) they view California as over-populated and wasteful of resources c) there is no way anyone would go along with blowing up a dam as they have in other places

So, neglect the dam, let it collapse — now you get the river “running free” again. Eco-warrior win. People downstream get evacuated and their homes and businesses are destroyed. Another Eco-warrior win — takes out some of that population. Not necessarily by killing them, but now their former homes are in a flood plain because there is no way the dam will ever be re-built — there will be some endangered microbe that will be discovered and the environmental impact will not allow re-building. So, the houses downstream are not going to be re-built and those people are forced to leave the area.

Exclusive — Book Promises Look Inside Clinton HQ on Election Night: ‘Heated Shouting’ and ‘Smashing of Glass’

Promising “an inside account of election night at Clinton headquarters, where the sounds of ‘heated shouting’ and ‘smashing of glass’ emanated from the Clinton’s private rooms as their empire fell down around them,” a new book, Game of Thorns by New York Times bestselling author and presidential historian Doug Wead, is due out from Hachette Book Group on February 28.
It could prove to be the exclamation point on now President Donald Trump’s groundbreaking victory in November.

Billed as “the first complete, detailed, historical account of the election,” Game of Thorns features interviews with a number of sources including Trump himself. Wead conducted his research over the course of the campaign with a historian’s eye, and the result is a stunning, definitive account of a story that Americans only think they know.

Sounds like a lot of smoke. I’ll wait for the reviews.

Michael Flynn Resigns as National Security Adviser

Michael T. Flynn, the national security adviser, resigned on Monday night after it was revealed that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other top White House officials about his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

Mr. Flynn, who served in the job for less than a month, said he had given “incomplete information” to about a telephone call he had with the ambassador in late December about American sanctions against Russia, weeks before Mr. Trump’s inauguration. Mr. Flynn previously had denied that he had any substantive conversations with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak, and Mr. Pence repeated that claim in television as recently as earlier this month.

But on Monday, a former administration official said the Justice Department last month warned the White House that Mr. Flynn had not been fully forthright about his conversations with the ambassador. As a result, the Justice Department feared that Mr. Flynn could be vulnerable to blackmail by Moscow.

In his resignation letter, which the White House emailed to reporters, Mr. Flynn said he had held numerous calls with foreign officials during the transition. “Unfortunately, because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian Ambassador,” he wrote. “I have sincerely apologized to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology.”

The White House said in the statement that it was replacing Mr. Flynn with retired Lt. General Joseph Keith Kellogg, Jr., a Vietnam War veteran, as acting national security adviser.

      @ lobo91:

“The message, delivered by Sally Q. Yates and a senior career national security official to the White House counsel, was prompted by concerns that Flynn, when asked about his calls and texts with the Russian diplomat, had told Vice President-elect Mike Pence and others that he had not discussed the Obama administration sanctions on Russia for its interference in the 2016 election, the officials said. It is unclear what the White House counsel, Donald McGahn, did with the information.”
