I left a comment at the video that is linked below:

a funny thing, i started smoking cigars again after 20 or so years (i had quit tobacco as i was smoking cigs and chewing tobacco as well, good lord). of course, cigars are completely different. i went to my local cigar guy on my birthday and bought a few hundred dollars worth of cigars and got the humidor up and running. AJ is top stuff no doubt. my wife was not pleased. i showed her this video over a couple drinks on the deck, she loved the video and then watched it a second time. i lit an enclave and had it burn in, and then asked her if she wanted a puff. being a great sport (who used to love the very small cigars during parties back in the day 😉 ) she took a draw. “wow! is that good!” . She isn’t very angry about a cigar once in a while. thanx AJ!

That will serve as the background to this new occasional series ‘A Friday Cigar’. A Friday Cigar will highlight a producer or an individual cigar.

AJ Fernandez produces very high quality cigars. Today’s is probably the most accessible of the AJ Fernandez collection: the Enclave Habano:

The spirit of the Enclave lays within the special brotherhood created by those who enjoy a fine premium cigar. The rich Habano Rosado wrapper from Ecuador compliments a decadent Cameroon binder.  AJF Piloto Cubano and AJF Select Nicaraguan fillers greets the cigar aficionado with notes of pepper, spice, cedar, and cinnamon.

Handmade in Esteli, Nicaragua
WRAPPER: Ecuador
BINDER: Cameroon
FILLER: Nicaragua

AJ’s more expensive cigars, as well as others brands will be looked at later.

A review that I agree with. I started with this cigar instead of the more expensive of their line to show that for a few dollars, there is great quality to be had.

Now, To the video. This is beautifully shot and should be watched on the big screen:

Raised in Cuba and steeped in the rich tradition of the Fernandez cigar legacy, AJ Fernandez produces unparalleled premium cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua. Ensuring superior quality, the day-to-day operations at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua, are managed under the watchful eye of AJ himself. Through a fusion of inherited technique and learned patience, Fernandez filler tobaccos are grown from prized seeds which are proprietary only to the Fernandez family. Perhaps the most essential quality of the AJ Fernandez line of cigars is the perspective and motivation of AJ, as well as the history of the Fernandez family.
