Black Friday 2017

it’s Racisss.

anyway, any excuse to play some Steely Dan is fine by me! (odd, I don’t see CFJ’s name on any of their stuff…and I have all of their original pressing vinyl…oh wait! He was with Chicago…yeah, that’s right!)

AND…MOAR WINNING!!!!

U.S. shoppers had splurged more than $1.52 billion online by Thanksgiving evening, and more bargain hunters turned up at stores this year after two weak holiday seasons as retailers opened their doors early on the eve of Black Friday.

At the start of the holiday season consumer spending rose 16.8 percent year-over-year until 5 p.m. ET (2200 GMT) on Thursday, according to Adobe Analytics, which tracked 80 percent of online transactions at the top 100 U.S. retailers.

Surging online sales and a shift away from store shopping have thinned the crowds typically seen at stores on Thanksgiving evening and the day after, Black Friday, for the past two years.

But a strong labor market, rising home prices and stock markets at record highs have improved shopper appetite this year.

Crowds at stores in many locations around the country were reported to be strong, according to analysts and retail consultants monitoring shopper traffic across the U.S.

“The turnout is clearly better than the last couple of years,” said Craig Johnson, president of Customer Growth Partners. “The parking lots are full and the outlet malls are busy.”

    morning y’all
this is probably the single most important quote I have ever seen on the internet

“It’s not an endlessly expanding list of rights — the ‘right’ to education, the ‘right’ to health care, the ‘right’ to food and housing. That’s not freedom, that’s dependency. Those aren’t rights, those are the rations of slavery — hay and a barn for human cattle.”

he ran back to “black lives matter”

some people are convinced there is a ‘secret’ to success that involves being clever enough to beat ‘the man’. They never figure out there is no secret, there is no ‘man’, it’s called getting up in the morning and going to work. She was just following the secret code to beat the man.

right after he left the Gov’s mansion, they discovered there was some furniture missing that belonged to the mansion. Mrs. O’Malley disputed that saying they’d had everything appraised, etc., before they left. Yes, they ordered the GAO to classify historic furniture as crap so they could pay flea market prices to steal the stuff.

the original article is behind a paywall at WaPo but instapundit has the gist and it is a thing of beauty

    ————-
Conservatives have a new court-packing plan, and in the spirit of the holiday, it’s a turducken of a scheme: a regulatory rollback hidden inside a civil rights reversal stuffed into a Trumpification of the courts. If conservatives get their way, President Trump will add twice as many lifetime members to the federal judiciary in the next 12 months (650) as Barack Obama named in eight years (325). American law will never be the same. . . .
    []
pack the federal courts with a “minimum” of 260 — and possibly as many as 447 — newly created judicial positions. Under this plan, the 228-year-old federal judiciary would increase — in a single year — by 30 to 50 percent.

    https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/281590/
    ————-

did you catch that? an INCREASE. You know, all those ignorant deplorable Trump voters who are too vulgar to be borne…….

too bad the Dems nuked the filibuster and besides Trump is too stupid to know how to be POTUS because all he does is tweet

don’t think so. The FIOS outtage was area-wide, not just our house, and hit 6 hrs after the furnace went out. The furnace board and fan – I’m not sure what happened there, I didn’t get a chance to talk to the guy, Hubby said something about the fire we had a few years ago

Obviously carbon pollution caused your circuit board to malfunction because the electrons were blocked by Gaia murdering Carbon that prevented the electricity from getting down the wires!

You just need to pay a handful of cash to the IPCC and they will make the problem go away.

The Plot Thickens=> Fusion GPS Was Hired To Prove Trump-Russia Collusion After Alleged DNC Hack

Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson has some explaining to do. According to reports, Fusion GPS was hired to prove a ‘Trump-Putin conspiracy’ after the DNC was allegedly hacked by Russia.

    Washington Times reports:

In addition, the committee wants transactions related to the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news site funded by GOP-mega-donor Paul Singer. The Beacon first hired Fusion in 2015 to investigate then-candidate Donald Trump, an anathema to many D.C. establishment Republicans.

The Free Beacon says the payments stopped in April 2016. Fusion then sought funds from the Democrats. After the Democratic National Committee announced on June 22, 2016 that Russia had hacked its computer network, Fusionhired Mr. Steele to prove there was a Trump-Putin conspiracy.

The House filings stated, “The committee has a clear investigative interest in scrutinizing Beacon’s public claims regarding its relationship with Fusion GPS.”

The report raises questions about both the timing of Fusion GPS’s “investigation,” into potential ties between President Trump and Putin (none have been found thus far), and the alleged Kremlin-lead DNC hack attack. Was the research firm hired to shift the blame from a DNC leaker or other party to Russia?

The news comes amid reports that the research firm was caught hiding bank transactions from House investigators.

“Fusion and the House at first worked out a deal for relevant banks records. But House lawyers say they learned that Fusion withheld 112 transactions pertinent to the Russia probe,” reports Rowan Scarborough of the Washington Times.

On Tuesday, a federal court unsealed Fusion GPS’s bank records, shining new light on Russia-related payments made by the firm behind the infamous ‘Trump dossier.’

Wow. Just ran across some interesting stats. The number of domains by country (which is not, I know, necessarily the number of ACTUAL websites but…)

When you consider than the U.S. has approx 300 million and the EU just over twice that, what does that tell you? Gov’t control, methinks.

    https://propelsteps.wordpress.com/2013/11/12/know-total-number-of-websites-country-wise/

No, Sarah Sanders Didn’t Steal A Thanksgiving Pie Photo From PBS

The amateur sleuths of Twitter thought that they had uncovered a Thanksgiving conspiracy today, claiming that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stole a photo of a pie from PBS and posted it as her own. Did Sanders lie about her pie? No. And we’ll show you why.

The origin of this bizarre conspiracy theory seems to have started with random Twitter users before being taken up by journalist and author Victoria Namkung who posted a link to what she claimed was the original photo. Namkung seemed to believe that the “PBS” in the domain name of the photo she posted meant that Sanders had stolen the photo from the public broadcaster.

But the thing is, pbs.twimg.com is just a subdomain that Twitter uses to host photos. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Public Broadcasting Service. The best evidence that Sanders is the original creator of the photo? If you do a reverse image search, it’s clear that Sanders was the first person to post that image to the internet.

Obviously, we need another Special Counsel to investigate…

Yea, probably, there are 287 million Americans using the internet today and we basically use it like we own it, which until Obama gave it away, we did. Only China and India have more citizens who use the internet. And while India is not as repressive as China, it still has quiet a ways to go to catch up to America’s ecomonicization of the internet.
