    @ RIX:

I doubt Andy WArhol could have made it today. He lived with and took care of his mom until she died, was an observant Roman Catholic and TRIED to be celibate instead of practicing his homosexuality (altho I’ve no idea and do not care how successful he was at that). Not to mention being REALLY REALLY white.

lotsa really great bars and restaurants in the area too. its right near heinz filed and pnc park…the two new stadiums that were built with bond money that was paid back early…the two stadiums that completely revitalized that section of the north side and turned it from a place to get murdered to a place to do business, get great food and great entertainment. that place where star kist tuna, seagate, matthews international, alcoa, SMS, highmark, et cetera decided to put their HQ’s.

the conservative bozos around here hated the idea of new stadii, they railed against it day and night…yet they were the first in line at the press box on opening day and dont say a word about how these two buildings completely revitalized 1/3 of the city of pittsburgh. it was then that i realized that the yelling on the radio and internat was just a way to make $$$.

Not that its any excuse but I wonder if he was bounced from being considered for military service due to a bad recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor ?
It only took an hour for the dem Sen to turn it political too (on FOX at least).
Anyone else wondering how its apparently ok to shove a microphone and camera in a young kids face, a kid who just watched her classmates murdered right before her eyes, without, minimally, her parents present ? One of the kids I watched be interviewed about the gruesome scene she witnessed was older than 13. The gal they’re interviewing right now just stated thats she believes she is in shock. Yeah, no kidding. And still he persists. Abusive !

the pic I saw of him (ariel) he looks like he has red hair. An hispanic name in Florida is meaningless, it’s like Jones in Rhode Island.

He’s a legal adult. Execute him. Every goddamn time there have been warning signs and the school had kicked him out, issued a security notice and…17 dead.

In case anyone read my comment above and wondered why the hell I was thinking the shooter may have been triggered (no pun intended) because of a bad ref for military service etc was because I had heard early on that before he was kicked out of school he was in, or had hopes of, being selected for an ROTC Program.

I’m not depressed so much as I’m just pissed off. They KNEW about this kid. Don’t tell me he fell thru the cracks.

actually, I’m scratching my head about that photo. I’m thinking the atom is too small to actually ‘catch’ light (not the right word but I can’t spell fisiks) and maybe this is a photon being emitted after being hit with the laser. I dunno, something isn’t right. Probably the explanation of what it really is, as it DID win first prize for fisiks photography.

Probably. I read a stat that 90% of school shooters are from divorced parents with no father in the hosue. This is fallout of feminisim.

Speaking of fallout, Obama’s transformation of the military was a success.

Guess what? The FBI knew all about Nick Cruz last September. Were they alerted by the school? Oh hell no. some vlogger who caught a comment Cruz left on his youtube video called them and told them he was worried about someone who sounded like he “wanted to be a professional school shooter”. And they came right over, yes they did. And then…they got back in touch yesterday.

How many times did Russia warn the FBI about the Tsarnaev brothers?

    54 | February 15, 2018 2:59 pm

There are so many reports out there about potentially anti-social behaviour that the security services do not have the capability and especially personnel to investigate them. Also what does the FBI do if they identify a potential shooter before the crime? Watch him 24/7? Do you know the massive level of resources that implies? That solution is not practical in a democratic society. Authoritarian fascist societies just pick up the individual and lock him up in a work camp. The fly in the ointment for the West is the Rule of Law coupled to the impossibility fo ever having enough resources to surveil the population of potential anti-social individuals who’s numbers grow every year due to the ‘perfect storm’ of degeneration in social norms coupled with strictures due to human rights legislation. Sooner or later these Western societies face the problem of falling to bits like so many before them or going hard core authoritarian and …. falling to bite like all the others.

The West was lost when it embraced the two edged sword of a legalistic society rather than a socially just society.

Without civic society, civilisation is always going to fall to bits. The US began losing its civil society 50 years ago and that in then was set up by what was going on na hundred years ago in society.

Europe lost its civil society a hundred years earlier except for a few outliers like the UK but the UK certainly has caught up to the rest of degenerate Europe now

Have you ever looked at the glaciation record? 40% of North America gets covered by glacial ice every 25,000 years like fucking clockwork. Last time North America was covered in a 3 mile deep sheet of ice… drum roll please… was 25,000 years ago.

Oh…. and Happy Birthday to me, I have survived to see the beginning of a brand new year.

‘anomaly’, ‘variability’, ‘sometimes’ – all weasel words when these people demand to be treated as the final, ‘the science is settled’, authorities

I follow a lot of farmers on twitter, some of whom have been on their farms for more than 3 generations, some, like in India, from families who literally have ALWAYS been on their farms. Their weather stories go back hundreds of years and extremes are the norm.

More about the Flynn case. You will recall – because I told you – that the FISC judge, Contreras, who granted the warrant, was recused from hearing the sentencing portion of the Flynn case. He did NOT self-recuse, according to the most recent reports I’ve seen. He has been replaced on the Flynn case by Judge Emmett Sullivan, who in the past has not been friendly to the Obama admin’s shenanigans.

I missed something that Clarice Feldman points out in the article linked to below. Dec. 12 2017 Sullivan crapped all over the gov’t, demanding it turn over all exculpatory evidence and even evidence they didn’t think was exculpatory. There is no ambiguity in this writing.

Finally, if the government has identified any information which is favorable to the defendant but which the government believes is not material, the government shall submit the material to the Court for in camera review.

Sullivan obviously doesn’t trust the gov’t on this.

Remember week before last Mueller went back to court and asked to delay Flynn’s sentencing hearing? Wonder why? Me too. Clarice Feldman thinks it’s because Mueller knows when the OIG report comes out, the thing falls apart and he wants the onus on the OIG for getting the charges dropped, not on his little dog and pony show.

What possible evidence could Sullivan be thinking of? Could it possibly be that he knows the FBI never believed Flynn lied?

true, then there is no reason to have all of these alphabet angencies spying on us and abusing the constitution if there is no action.

    easy, lay-off time!

    Correct.

Gathering Intelligence without the intent of actually using that intelligence is a total waste of resources. Now when you define the word USE we get to the nub of the problem.

You can USE intelligence to predict some future event and allow yourself the temporal space top prepare for a repose that will maintain a just stasis. That is not happening in the US where collection of information happens not because we need ever more evidence on which to base out analysed decision making. Collection becomes an end in itself….. because it’s the easiest bit of the Intelligence Cycle. The US alphabet agencies are notorious for the ‘collection fixation’. They are equally notorious for the lack of nuanced analysis and the production of useful and TIMELY Intelligence product. We are talking about institutionalised lethargy here folks.

Then we have the elephant in the room. The lack of intent to both disseminate and USE gathered intelligence. The ‘cluster-fuck ‘ that was the ‘siloed’ intelligence product of the various alphabet agencies pre 9-11, were supposed to ‘get fixed’ by the after attack, by investigations and talkfests. 17 years down the track that stove piping of information and lack of intelligence sharing is as bad as it ever was ……. because Knowledge IS POWER…. and nobody wants to share their power with others, because there is a limited level of funding out there and your particular alphabet agency might get a funding cut because you’ve been judged openly and found wanting.

There are too many folks pushing paper for the sake of just pushing the output of paper that justifies their employment. Nobody asks the questions:- Do we already know this intelligence and accrued Knowledge. Is the intelligence we intend to collect and analyse necessary for us to do our jobs or is it just getting in the way and overloading our system? Will we use this intelligence operationally or will it just be added to enhance our current of knowledge … and is this necessary? And finally exactly how do we intend to use this gathered and analysed intelligence and what are the ramifications of this use?

Once we know all that we can redeploy some ‘easy’ but often expensive collection assets into the hard bit of the Intelligence Cycle ….. nuanced analysis .

We also need senior intelligence managers with the guts to ‘let the chips fall where they may’ with dissemination and especially operational use of intelligence and the nuanced knowledge building that comes from an understanding of the intent of the Intelligence cycle and the rules on which the process is built.

One major confusion is to conflate intelligence product with the Rules of Evidence and the legal code. The lack of understanding of this, is the greatest ‘sin’ of our supposed intelligence leaders.

so some get arrested and some dont then? the shooter in FL flat out admitted that that is what he was going to do and everyone knew it and reported it and nothing happened.

kid poses with a gun and the Chicago cops arrest his ass.

The difference between the Chicago and Florida cases was:-

In Chicago it was local law enforcement and they acted to arrest and charge the 15 year old for a misdemeanour for posing a threat with some associate’s legal weapon. The sheriff failed fir not also charging the legal owner of the firearm for allowing the 15 YO access and warning that adult that he would face conspiracy before the fact if the 15 YO was again found to have access to that firearm.

The Florida case was the FBI being suckered screwed by their own internal rules governing how and which cases they investigate. The Valentine day shooter fell below the level requiring active investigation other that a surface look at Open Source intelligence. Those rules are there to protect the general public from Federal over reach and oppression but the jurists within the FBI have been a little too powerful and have pulled the teeth of the agency and se the bar too high.

Remember that Nunes went to the FISC to ask for all transcripts relating to investigations ongoing. Judge Rosemary Collyer responded today. I think what’s she saying is that they have to think about it because the request ‘raises novel questions’ but in the meantime the DOJ should have/probably has everything Nunes wants and he should go ask them. She says the court has already let the Exec branch know the Court has no objection if THEY provide the info to Congress, and oh, btw, if Nunes does decide to go to the Executive, would Congress kindly let the court know? Thank you very much, bye.
