Sunday Sports Spectacular – Twilight Zone Edition

After this week, I’m still straining to hear “da da da da, da da da da” and Rod Serling to appear and thankfully rescue me by announcing “You are entering a different world of site and sound……”  Because really?  I’m drained.

I’m just going to declare this an open thread right off the bat, because by the time the Sunday morning news shows air, football/baseball/golf is going to be secondary to the pissed off Olympics we have going on right now.

I’m skipping beer today and going directly to the hard stuff…..Bloody Marys, heavy on the Marys.  I am not responsible for any statements I make after 10:30 a.m.

In the NFL, here’s the matchups:
Saints @ Atlanta
Broncos @ Ravens
Bengals @ Panthers (a kitty-cat face off!)
Giants @ Texans
Titans @ Jaguars
49ers @ Chiefs
Raiders @ Dolphins
Bills @ Vikings
Colts @ Eagles
Packers @ Redskins
Chargers @ Rams (aren’t the L.A. freeways jammed enough already?)
Bears @ Cardinals
Cowboys @ Seahawks
Patriots @ Lions

Monday’s Game
Steelers @ Buccaneers

In the MLB, the season winds down to it’s final week.  As of now, Boston and Cleveland have clinched their divisions and other races look to be close.  Lots of games as the PostSeason push is on!

Orioles @ Yankees
Rays @ Blue Jays
Reds @ Marlins
Royals @ Tigers
Brewers @ Pirates
Mets @ Nationals
Phillies @ Braves
Cubs @ White Sox
Angels @ Astros
Giants @ Cardinals
Marineers @ Rangers
Twins @ Athletics
Rockies @ D-Backs
Padres @ Dodgers
Red Sox @ Indians (preview of coming championship attractions, maybe)

In the PGA – the TOUR Championship final round from Atlanta today.  On Friday, the leaderboard was top-heavy with familiar names, including Tiger Woods at No. 2.  Tantalizing, but they’ve had two rounds since then.  Still, he’s fun to watch, even now.  For any feminists who have someone breezed by here and are reading this and ask why I don’t include LPGA?  Because I don’t care.  I’m a wimmen, and I don’t even watch the LPGA.  Go start your own blog and report on them.

No NASCAR race today, as Richmond ran last night.  [Insert winner’s name here providing I remembered to do so on Sunday…..; bitch about winner]

And in case I didn’t mention it before, like the old commercial says:

Barbarian, question: McCabe’s attorney, Michael Bromwich (I think that’s his name) is now on Christine Ford’s team. He had to resign from his law firm to do that due to objections there. So who takes McCabe now? Does Bromwich keep him, or the law firm? Bromwich, btw, is a former DOJ IG

    @ eaglesoars:

Customarily, the firm would retain existing clients. McCabe can fire the firm of course and go with Bromwich – it would be his option. What I find interesting is that the firm didn’t want Ford as a client. This tells me something Firms love high profile cases – it’s like free advertising without being a slimy slip and fall lawyer. The fact that they didn’t want to be part of the biggest legal battle in the country right now is significant to me.

  7. 7 | September 23, 2018 1:28 pm

And apparently a FOURTH witness Ford claims was there denies ever being at a party like that. In fact, she denies ever meeting Kavanaugh.

Of course, Ford’s lawyer Katz has the explanation ready. The witness, Leland Keyser, doesn’t remember because nothing significant happened to HER. Right.

Geez, just offing admit you made the whole thing up and DiFi’s attempt to muddy the waters at the last minute with a vague accusation isn’t flying. She just wanted the nasty allegation out there. She never expected that the liar would be identified.

I don’t know if that’s the case. All I saw was a comment by Bromwich announcing his move and mentioning he was resigning because of ‘objections’ at the law firm. Nothing about the nature of those objections was mentioned.

    @ doriangrey:

except Ford didn’t give the letter to SENATOR Feinstein, did she? She sent it to HOUSE MEMBER Amy Eshoo. Look at this little nugget

A plain reading of 18 USC 1001 suggests that in the matter of a specific presidential nomination pending before the U.S. Senate, statements made to a House member on that matter may not be covered by the statute’s prohibition on false statements.

Leland Keyser. Bob Beckel’s ex-wife. Supposedly a ‘life long’ friend of Ford’s.

Last week Joe DiGenova made a cryptic comment about Ford and the PGA that had people scratching their heads. Something like ‘wait till they find out about the PGA’. I didn’t hear him say it, I just heard about it.

Turns out Keyser was a professional golfer who hung out at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, MD, which is right next door to Bethesda.

  10. 10 | September 23, 2018 2:23 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

Deceitful Di should be removed from that Committee. Her refusal to turn over the unreacted letter should be cause enough. Since all the principals have been named, what’s the problem? I think they should haul Anna Eshoo should be hauled in front of them and questioned about the circumstances of her obtaining this letter and why she didn’t turn it over to the committee through proper channels.

  11. 11 | September 23, 2018 2:30 pm

So now she is going to testify on Thursday. Wonder if that was agreed to BEFORE the news that her fourth witness denied everything. Oh, and the Senators plan to question Kavanaugh about his drinking in high school. Never had a problem, mind you, with Cocaine Barry and his Choom Gang.

Since she has four days, let’s all play “What will be the next excuse”? Because I think she was told she would never have to testify under oath on this. Now the Democrats can no longer claim they’re trying to suppress her tsstimony.

    Probably not.

  14. 14 | September 23, 2018 3:14 pm

And I don’t believe this BS about death threats. Palo Alto PD was no knowledge of this. I would think that if she’s threatened she’d be wanting to report it to the Law Enforcement Agency charged with the most immediate response. I’d ask her about those when she appears since this was given as one of her reasons for delay in the first place.

Yes, they can, because they haven’t agreed to all the conditions yet. They’re still negotiating. And her side will be absolutely unbending when it comes to any condition that they can use to make that exact claim.

And if she DOES testify, it won’t be under oath.

Judging from the reaction on Twitter – she should have been told show up Monday or we hold the vote. BUT I think Grassley has shown the GOP is more than willing to accommodate this poor “victim” – even so far as to say the old White men will let a woman question her.

In the end I think the Democrats did themselves real harm here. Every mother sees how her son’s life could be ruined by these jerks on the bass of NO evidence whatsoever. They have been vilifying MEN since this first surfaced. And women aren’t believing her either.

I assume the condition that Kavanaugh testify first has been removed – since just about everyone thought that was the most ridiculous thing they’ve ever heard. I still think something will happen between now and Thursday. My instincts tellmeshe just does NOT want to e put under oath. And that’s interesting since she’s the accuser but is the only one of the named principals who has not made a statement carrying a penalty of perjury.

And if you think there isn’t a war against men, try this. Linux is an open-source software language that powers a lot of stuff. Developers can yank their code for any reason. But they don’t. Well, the sexually twisted SJWs have created a Code of Conduct (CoC) that allows developers to be banned for basically being men. And now, people are threatening to pull their code.

    1. Fostering an inclusive and safe space for women, LGBTQIA+, and People of Color, who in the absence of the CoC are excluded, harassed, and sometimes even raped by cis white males.
    2. Lack of CC’s CoC sustains meritocracy, which “has consistently shown itself to mainly benefit those with privilege, to the exclusion of underrepresented people in technology“.
    3. The vast majority of Linux contributors are cis white males. CC’s Code of Conduct would enable the building of a more diverse overall demographic as people who aren’t cis white males feel welcome to join and white male harassers are weeded out.
    4. Being against the CoC means you want women, LGBTQIA+, and People of Color to be harassed.

Having spent the majority of my adult life as a woman in a tech field, I can tell you there are some assholes. There were assholes in every field. But if you can do the work, you just run them over and move on. Being a woman never held me back. I never saw ANYONE discriminated against because of anything other than merit.

That was the other reason for the delay. To get other women to come forward. Sorry, sista, you should ave come forward a couple weeks ago. This is probably in response to everyone saying that if he did this, as claimed, he would have done this with others.

    Here’s the New Yorker story

    https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/senate-democrats-investigate-a-new-allegation-of-sexual-misconduct-from-the-supreme-court-nominee-brett-kavanaughs-college-years-deborah-ramirez

The woman at the center of the story, Deborah Ramirez, who is fifty-three, attended Yale with Kavanaugh, where she studied sociology and psychology. Later, she spent years working for an organization that supports victims of domestic violence. The New Yorker contacted Ramirez after learning of her possible involvement in an incident involving Kavanaugh. The allegation was conveyed to Democratic senators by a civil-rights lawyer. For Ramirez, the sudden attention has been unwelcome, and prompted difficult choices. She was at first hesitant to speak publicly, partly because her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident. In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty. After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away. Ramirez is now calling for the F.B.I. to investigate Kavanaugh’s role in the incident. “I would think an F.B.I. investigation would be warranted,” she said

I’ve encountered a few. Fortunately, very few. One of them gained some prominence in our company and was a miserable person with whom to deal. I think he was compensating for the fact that he really wasn’t very good and still got to his position, he was afraid someone would learn the truth. Armstrong gets to the dark heart of the President versus the swamp.

The New York Times report that Rosenstein called for wearing wires to meet with Trump has been met with an unusual degree of people on the Hill beginning to understand that there is really a coup underway by the Deep State. At this point, Rosenstein should be immediately suspended at the very least and a special prosecutor should be appointed who was NOT a former employee of the Department of Justice, FBI, CIA, or NSA or any other capacity whatsoever. This is a serious development for it really does not matter who is president. If this is allowed to become precedent, then the Deep State can remove ANY president who they personally dislike. That is an overthrow of the Constitution and the end of democracy altogether.

Of course, there are people who just hate Trump and want him gone at any cost. They cannot separate the person from the position…

Any president who dares to offend the Deep States will be gone in the future if this is allowed to continue. This is looking more and more like the last days of Rome with puppet emperors ruling as the real power lurks behind the curtain. Do we really want a system where retaliation will be the creed if the next president is a Democrat? This is not about Trump the person – it is about the office of the President and how it has been degraded globally. Why should anyone trust America if it cannot trust itself?

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge. Per a second source with direct knowledge: “He’s expecting to be fired,” so he plans to step down.

Background: Rosenstein talked last year about invoking the 25th Amendment and wearing a wire during Trump meetings, the N.Y. Times’ Adam Goldman and Michael S. Schmidt reported last week. He denied both allegations.

Some are suggesting that Kelly asked him to resign, but that he refused. Trump is addressing the UN today/tomorrow so wont be available until Thursday to sort this out.

Come Thursday I expect we will discover that Trump offered Rosenstein via Kelly the opportunity to resign and Rosenstein refused and Trump will fire him on Thursday and charges of filing a fraudulent FISA warrant application will follow.

As the Armstrong post this morning said, R.Weasel has to go for the sake of the Democracy. As Dorian writes, it’s an attempted coupe against the President. The Office of the President is under sustained attack and R.Weasel is a crucial player.

Though the American people were correctly told that Nicolas Deak assassin Lois Lang had previously been under psychiatric care, this report continues, what was failed to be reported to them was that Lang had been under the direct care and medical supervision of the CIA’s own Stanford University Psychiatric Professor Dr. Frederick T. Melges just prior to her traveling from Seattle to New York City to carry out this assassination—and who was the exact type of assassin Dr. Melges had been working to create in his CIA-funded mind control MKULTRA program—and whose Canadian victims of are still being silenced after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, this past December, imposed a gag order on them to keep them silent—but that does apply to Judge Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Christine Blasey, who remains able to teach her CIA Undergraduate Internship Program at Stanford University the MKULTRA mind control techniques discovered by Dr. Melges.

botched abortions. This is the ‘abortion by coat hanger’ that, in its day, did a lot of harm to women. The Left’s story is that Kavanaugh, by overturning Roe, will send women back to those circumstances.

If she doesn’t show up Thursday morning, call the vote. Then tell Dirty Dianne nest time she should follow Committee rules when she gets evidence.

I wonder how the Dems are reacting to Avenatti’s so-called victim. I think this was farther than even these walking turds were willing to go. Avetatti is claiming he’ll produce her in 48 hours. Probably an Islmsophobe too.

By rational definition Islamophobia is the irrational fear of Islam.
Does this phenomena actually exist? Islam denies all of the Rights of Man. Most importantly Islam denies the fundamental Right of Life. As a result Islam commands the followers to subjugate and to plunder the nonbelievers. Those who raise a hand in their own defense are in retaliation be murdered. Furthermore all women are deemed to be inferior creatures who exist solely to be used by Muslim males*. Although forcible rape is declared to be illegal the act of prosecution is impractical. In addition the mere complaint of forcible rape is deemed to a confession to the crime of adultery, which under Islam is a capital offense. In Islam the act of forcible rape of nonbelievers is not only rendered legal but by scripture is often encouraged.

By rational examination it is clear that an irrational fear of Islam is impossible. So how we identify those who believe in existence of Islamophobia and actively seek to suppress it? These persons are giving material aid and comfort to the Enemies of Mankind. As the American People is part of Mankind, such aid when performed by Americans constitutes under Constitutional definition an act of Treason. Unfortunately the act of Treason is not prosecuted nor properly punished.

    * The concept of Man does not apply in this case.

lam, according to many of it’s adherents, is peace.

But it is not the peace of rational people who respect the rights of each other, it is the peace of submission to the will of the barbarian. In this particular case the barbarian was an illiterate child-raping murderer who falsely claimed to speak for the creator and ruling consciousness of the universe. In reality Islam is a fraud. It is a fraud perpetrated by the false prophet of a false god. Islam is death. Islam is the death of reason, the death of innocence, and the death of humanity in general.

    @ eaglesoars:

Yep, in fact she filed it three different times in the Southern District because apparently the PATENT lawyer they hired to represent her didn’t get it right the first two times. I looked at that complaint. And the so-called declaration she offered with it. The problem is that you can’t SIGN a declaration, under penalty of perjury, under the name “Tiffany Doe” (of course, unless your name is REALLY “Tiffany Doe”); the declaration has to be executed by the person making it – otherwise, you apply to file the document under seal.

She dismissed the lawsuit about two weeks before the election, having never served Trump with the Complaint. While it did generate buzz when initially filed, I think a lot of networks’ legal departments took one look at the complaint and said “uh, no – we’re not going to be promoting that” and it essentially died everywhere except on Twitter.

Of course, the reason she says she withdrew was because of “Death Threats.” You were a DOE plaintiff, kumquat. How’d they get your name? Remember that press conference with Lisa Bloom that never took place?

  190. 192 | September 25, 2018 2:28 pm

Okay, everyone, here’s something fun going around on Twitter.

It’s being “rumored” that the Avenatti “100% credible” client that he claimed had evidence of Kavanaugh and Judge orchestrating gang rapes by using date rape drugs was actually a prank pulled on him by a 4Chan operative. And that is why he locked his Twitter account, because it’s about to break. Who knows?

If it’s true, I am going to laugh my ass off. I will report if I hear anything else. But to me, it actually makes sense. I mean that gang rape allegation is really OUT there.

Couple this with the possibility of a Daniels lawsuit dismissal, and even CNN won’t have this guy on. But I imagine the State Bar of California will be wanting to have a little chat with him.

And from what I understand about 4Chan, this is precisely the type of stunt that they would do to an attention whore like Avenatti.

  194. 196 | September 25, 2018 3:03 pm

It’s said that this would explain why Avenatti kept hedging on coming forward with the information. Supposedly, “she” kept offering excuse after excuse and Avenatti upped the $$ ante. Then, because she was using a burner phone to talk to him, she “went dark” a day ago or something and Avenatti started panicking when he could not longer get hold of her, to the point today where he said something about “well maybe she WON’T come forward.” I have a feeling someone contacted him and said “she doesn’t exist, she’s a 4Chan prank and you fell for it, idiot.”

BTW, Avenatti has no “recourse” on this. The individual committed no crime. He was the one who took the story and ran with it.

Avanati has told Jake Tapper that the 4Chan story is false. Well, then, Creepy Porn Lawyer, I recommend to get that “client” of yours to come forward. And soon. Because you have slandered a sitting appellate judge. YOU were the one who was making these allegations, stating them as fact, and who said she was 100% credible. I notice, for instance, that NO ONE has come forward to corroborate anything.

And this was not in a complaint or in court, which carries an implied immunity from slander, defamation and libel. This was in the media. No such protection exists.

EU Globalist parasites establish work around the US SWIFT system for global trade.

“In a stunning vote of “no confidence” in the US monopoly over global payment infrastructure, one month ago Germany’s foreign minister Heiko Maas called for the creation of a new payments system independent of the US that would allow Brussels to be independent in its financial operations from Washington and as a means of rescuing the nuclear deal between Iran and the west.

Writing in the German daily Handelsblatt, Maas said “Europe should not allow the US to act over our heads and at our expense. For that reason it’s essential that we strengthen European autonomy by establishing payment channels that are independent of the US, creating a European Monetary Fund and building up an independent Swift system,” he wrote.

Maas said it was vital for Europe to stick with the Iran deal. “Every day the agreement continues to exist is better than the highly explosive crisis that otherwise threatens the Middle East,” he said, with the unspoken message was even clearer: Europe no longer wants to be a vassal state to US monopoly over global payments, and will now aggressively pursue its own “SWIFT” network that is not subservient to Washington’s every whim.

Many discounted the proposal as being far too aggressive: after all, a direct assault on SWIFT, and Washington, would be seen by the rest of the world as clear mutiny against a US-dominated global regime, and could potentially spark a crisis of confidence in the reserve status of the dollar, resulting in unpredictable, and dire, consequences.

However, despite the diplomatic consequences, Europe was intent on creating some loophole to the US ability to weaponize the global currency of account at will, something observed most recently as part of Trump’s latest sanctions on Iran, and as a result, late on Monday, the European Union said that it would establish a special payment channel to allow European and other companies to legally continue financial transactions with Iran while avoiding exposure to U.S. sanctions.

The move, as the WSJ notes, “is a direct rebuke of President Trump’s policy on Iran and his decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal in May,” and sets the stage for a confrontation between the U.S. and Europe over the treatment of Iran, the payment for Iran oil, and potentially, jeopardizing the reserve currency status of the dollar itself.

While keeping SWIFT as is, for now, the EU’s foreign-policy head Federica Mogherini side by side with Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif announced a “special purpose vehicle” jointly, in English and Farsi, after a meeting at the U.N. of the parties still committed to the deal—Iran, EU, U.K., France, Germany, Russia and China. In fact, everyone but the US.”

go right ahead. that’s probably why the German delegation laughed when Trump pointed out they’re going to become dependent on Russia for their energy. They’re thinking this is their back door.

Putin has been buying off Germany’s politicians at least since Schroeder/GazProm and who knows what Iran is using for their bribes. It may be nothing more than smug self-satisfaction with the idea that they’re screwing the Amis.

We’re going to station troops in Poland and instead of Gates of Vienna, it will be Brandenburg Gate and this time there will be no Marshall Plan

That post about the SWIFT system was from zerohedge. This was an anti-Trump statement from the UN. SWIFT won’t disappear so quickly. Iran has been using other ways to get its oil to market. The EURO is holding together with duct tape and glue. Merkel has sold out her own country to the Globalists & their feckless muslim country parasites. Armstrong makes it clear regularly that nobody has the market depth of the U.S. dollar even with all of its problems.

    Sheriff Joe?

WASHINGTON – Arizona prosecutor Rachel Mitchell has emerged as Senate Republicans’ choice to question Brett Kavanaugh and the woman who has accused the Supreme Court nominee of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers, according to two people familiar with the decision.

Mitchell, the sex crimes bureau chief for the Maricopa County Attorney’s office in Phoenix, is the leading candidate to query the two at Thursday’s highly anticipated hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to the individuals.

They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it on the record.

A registered Republican, Mitchell has worked for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for 26 years.
