Sunday Brunch…..

It being the Sunday before Thanksgiving, thought it might be fun to just throw it all open and have some fun discussing two minor stories this week to bring the crazy.

Michael Avenatti v. Karma

So Creepy Porn Lawyer got arrested for domestic violence, but it would apparently not be connected with his “estranged” second wife, Lisa, but perhaps someone else.  Maybe he had another porn star staying at the apartment, who knows.  In any event, the woman has serious enough and evident facial injuries that he was booked and released on $50K bond.  Upon release, the Sir Michael the Brave and Stalwart tweeted out the following:

What’s that you say, Mikey?  Inaccurate reporting?  Damn shame.  Completely bogus?  You should know from completely bogus, since your psychoclient’s affidavit against Brett Kavanaugh was a smarmy work of fiction.  “I have not been charged with anything, let alone a felony.”  You’re out on a a $50,000 bond, doofus – we don’t go that high for misdemeanors.  You get formally charged in an “arraignment” which usually takes place a few days later, so quit splitting hairs.  Perhaps refer to your notes from your semester on Criminal Procedure – I’m sure it was covered.  I guess “Believe all Women” isn’t his mantra anymore.

Crazy Mike Tokes v. The California Wildfires

Frankly, until the fires are out and the dust settles and people are in a position to assess the damage, I’d rather not hear from Jerry Brown about the climate change DENIERS being the root cause of the problem.  How, exactly?  California has implemented 9,568 climate change regulations and there’s nothing anyone on the other side of the aisle could do to stop them.  But even that blame methodology pales in comparison to this week’s Alex Jones Award winner for conspiracy theories on the fires in Southern California – Mike Tokes – who sees a sinister correlation to – get ready – Jerry Brown’s “Train to Nowhere”…

So, California is burning the land it’s already taken in eminent domain?  Hell, dude, a better conspiracy theory would have been that the fires were started by Democrats to punish California’s Trump voters.  Except…..didn’t SOUTHERN California vote for Hillary – like over and over again?   Oh, and by the way, Mike – there are no wildfires on the 99 corridor from L.A. to Bakersfield and the 580 corridor to San Francisco.

What IS it with guys named Mike?

Caroline Glick, author of ‘The Shackled Warrior’ comments on Israel’s weak response (cease fire) to hundreds of rockets fired into Israel last week by Hamas.

“Since Operation Cast Lead in 2008-2009, military lawyers have been attached to fighting units down to the battalion level. These attorneys are allegedly prohibiting required action by claiming that strategically significant and operationally vital actions like killing Hamas commanders and bombing rocket launching units constitute war crimes.

Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot has demonstrated for years that he is willing to subordinate trigger pullers to attorneys who do not suffer the consequences of their lenient interpretations of the actions of Israel’s enemies. He elevated Military Advocate General Sharon Afeq to the rank of Major General. He supports indicting combat soldiers for alleged violent crimes on the basis of radical legal interpretations of actions in battle. The message Eisenkot has communicated to everyone from platoon leaders to division commanders is that they must subordinate their actions to the judgment of lawyers who have no command responsibilities.

It is important to point out that the “international law” being implemented by IDF commanders through military lawyers is not actually the law as written. It is a radical, ideological interpretation of general principles of international law.

For instance, there is no explicit, universally applied determination of what a “proportionate” response to aggression is. Everything is a judgment call. And the judgment that the IDF has internalized through its lawyers is the one pronounced by antisemitic UN agencies and antagonistic self-declared “human rights” organizations. Namely, that Israel is guilty until proven innocent.

Needless to say, the IDF’s internalization of this bigoted and deeply flawed interpretation of international law is causing grave damage to the IDF’s ability to defend the country from aggression.

The second, equally troubling explanation for the cabinet’s decision to stand down is that Netanyahu and his ministers don’t trust the IDF’s operational competence. For seven months, the IDF has failed to come up with ways to end Hamas’s operations along the border. The special forces operating in Gaza on Sunday were ambushed. Their cover was blown. And the IDF permitted a bus carrying 50 soldiers to enter a border area where it was entirely exposed to enemy fire. If this is how the IDF handles Hamas, how will it handle Hezbollah – which is 10 times more powerful?

What are we to make of the fact that all the security services and branches of the IDF unanimously supported standing down in the face of Hamas’s extraordinary aggression?

In other words, if Netanyahu and his ministers feared the outcome of a more forceful operations against Hamas and Islamic Jihad, their fears were well placed.
Israel may be the innovation nation, but the IDF has failed to come up with innovative ways to deal with Hamas. To be sure, our special forces are undoubtedly exacting major blows at Hamas we never hear about.

But the fact is, the terror regime shot off 500 projectiles and blew up a bus with a missile in less than 24 hours. The border assaults have never stopped. You can’t fight a booby-trapped balloon with an F-35. Ceramic vests and Iron Dome batteries are no substitute for bold improvisation and ingenuity.”

    The Ultimate Fake News

Fake news is a serious problem in our political life. I’m not referring to a pathetically small number of Facebook ads bought by Russian provocateurs. I’m talking about the fake news that was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee; fabricated by Democratic Party-allied consultants; propagated by the FBI and the CIA; promoted by the broadcast networks, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Associated Press; trumpeted by pretty much every senior elected Democrat; and kept alive by the appalling Robert Mueller. The claim that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to “steal” the 2016 presidential election is the great fake news of our time.

How successful have the Democrats been in propagating that myth? This survey by The Economist and YouGov suggests that they have been successful beyond their wildest dreams. First the numbers, then some observations. Click for numbers

Note the question asked: Did Russia “tamper with vote tallies in order to get Donald Trump elected President?” There is no evidence–I repeat, none–that Russia “tampered with vote tallies.” To my knowledge, no one has claimed that Russia tampered with vote tallies. I am not aware of any plausible theory on which a foreign power could tamper with vote tallies. To say that Russia tampered with vote tallies is as credible as asserting that the moon is made of green cheese.

And yet, two-thirds of Democrats say it is either “definitely true” (31%) or “probably true” (36%) that Russia tampered with vote tallies. Women are especially gullible; 48%, across all party lines, have fallen for this fake news. Sadly, 70% of blacks have bought it hook, line and sinker. The Northeast is the country’s most ignorant region, apparently: 47% of Northeasterners have fallen for the hoax.

So the Democrats, by their constant hysteria and innuendo, have convinced a large majority of their followers, and 42% of all Americans, of a palpable falsehood that was fabricated in order to assure Hillary Clinton’s election and then, when that effort failed, perpetuated in an attempt to cripple President Trump’s administration.

Is this the most successful disinformation campaign in history? I don’t know. But in American history, I can’t think of a plausible rival. President Trump is right: fake news is a serious threat. By cynically selling an absurd lie to its followers, the Democratic Party has badly damaged confidence in our democracy.

    @ RIX:

Yep. All the White House needs to go is write up the regulations, find Acosta in violation of all of them, and yank the pass. In the fine print of that order, as I recall, is that his hard pass was reinstated for 14 days. That takes it to the end of the month.

And you KNOW Acosta won’t be able to help himself. All they need to do to set his attention whore ass off is to not allow him or CNN a question at a presser and he’d be jumping up like a kangaroo every five minutes so that he can get his requisite camera time. Guidelines advise against interrupting if you are not called on and disrupting the orderly flow.

    Bye bye Jimmy Boy.

What vacuum did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her supporters crawl out of?

    @ doriangrey:

I hope this doesn’t mean you will underestimate the impact she may have or the YUGE boost the media are willing to provide. Trump’s political success is due in no small part to his use of ‘new’ media to present himself w/no filter. AOC is doing the same. She’s got an instagram acct up (I have to find it) that shows her cooking in the kitchen and just being a regular person. It’s a reality show for the millenials and it is, from what I hear, a hit. It may not be something you or I would find interesting but she’s not talking to us.

It doesn’t matter what we think. We need to watch and learn.

No, I never underestimate the ability of evil people to seduce the simple and weak minded. Funny thing about evil, it comes in 2 very distinct flavors. Those who fully understand that they are evil, and those who believe that they are paragons of moral superiority.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her supporters are of the second flavor. Their morals and ethics have no foundation, they are mercurial at best and utterly self serving. Moreover, having no actual education or understanding of the philosophical foundations of morality or ethics their version of morals and ethics are relative. Which is to say, subject to the whims of their political ideology.

  65. 66 | November 19, 2018 1:53 pm

That Congress Critter who is challenging Pelosi re ousting her from the Speaker’s position who says he has the 20 votes to do so (or some such nonsense) apparently has forgotten that the REPUBLICANS also get to vote for Speaker. I’m sure traditionally, they nominate one of their own for form’s sake. However, this time, I’m willing to bet that they vote for Pelosi and all those little mutineers are going to find themselves in hot water when she takes the gavel.

It won’t let me cut/paste so it’s link only. This is an interesting letter from a biologist to a sociologist. The bio guy tells how it was once the evangelical creationists who challenged their field, but they never stopped the bio guys from criticizing THEM or interfered w/their work. Now, they’re getting serious crap from the SJW trans crew – some of whom are bio guys theselves – and it ain’t pretty.

I wouldn’t be able to do my job as an evolutionary biologist if sex weren’t a real biological phenomenon. Yet I could lose my job for stating those plain facts

When you go to a doctor or have a medical procedure why do they ask you what race you are?

The only medical differences that I can think of are Black people are more prone to sickle cell anemia and Asians have a lower tolerance to alcohol genetically.

More fascinating is that after they ask for my race they then ask are you Hispanic.

LOL the only question about “gender” is male or female… 🙂

Migrant Complains About Free Food She’s Been Given By Mexico, Calls It Pig Food

Six thousand Central American migrants have encamped in Tijuana, Mexico, waiting to enter the United States, legally or illegally.

The migrants are part of a thousands-strong migrant caravan that originated in Honduras. The caravan reached the American border with the assistance of charter buses and are now camped in Tijuana with no place to go as they apply for asylum at the American ports of entry.

President Donald Trump, who made the migrant caravan a critical part of the 2018 midterms messaging for the GOP, has hardened the southern border with armed soldiers and razor wire.

Deutsche Welle’s Spanish language channel, DW Español, traveled to Tijuana in order to interview some of the migrants living in the camps. A reporter asked one of the migrants how the living conditions were in the camp. The woman complained about the food she had been given in the camp, calling it food for “pigs” and saying she would “die of hunger” if she did not eat it.

Yeah…we’re gonna get a lot of “cultural enrichment” from that bunch…

Let’s start in Texas, still warm over the hotly contested Beto-Ted slugfest. One of the few states not counting and recounting ballots in an effort to create the desired result, Texas had early snow. As reported by one of the Houston news stations, “It’s official. According to the National Weather Service, that Houston has recorded its earliest snowfall ever observed — and not just by a day or two but by 10 days!” Note the words “ever observed”.

Today New Zealand is freezing it’s arse off and summer is officially ON at the end of November. They Southern Alps are metres deep in new snow otherwise known as (white gerbal worming). Even on the coast there are snow flurries and the ski season although officially closed at the end of October has ‘unofficially ‘opened for a little do it yourself skiing including skiing down the access roads! In the North Island there is hail and thunder and lightening. I’m sitting here rugged up like it’s mid-winter again.

She wants to wait on the big stuff until she decides where everything will go. There’s a desk in the new garage that I’d like to move to my office, and a fridge and washer that we’ll be swapping with ours.

Plenty of stuff will end up going to the DAV or a garage sale, too.

South Africa White Farmer Land Grabs Will Be Law After Change To Constitution Approved

After months of talks, the country is set to go ahead with the proposals that will see farms seized without compensation – something critics have said will be devastating.

The country’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, has been attempting to amend South Africa’s constitution for months, but has been met with stiff opposition.

But now the controversial seizures will become legal after the changes were approved by a parliamentary review committee.

South Africans have spoken loud and clear, and we listened to their cry,” said Lewis Nzimande, the co-chair of the committee.

Critics of the plans have previously warned the land seizures will lead to mass starvation and riots.

Ian Cameron, of South African trade group AfriForum, previously warned: “We’re really heading for a state of anarchy if something doesn’t change drastically.

“I’m convinced this year we’ll see between 21,000 to 22,000 people having been murdered in the past year.”

    WHAT??!!

Judge dismisses female genital mutilation charges in historic case

In a major blow to the government, a federal judge in Detroit has declared America’s female genital mutilation law unconstitutional, thereby dismissing the key charges against two Michigan doctors and six others accused of subjecting at least nine minor girls to the cutting procedure in the nation’s first FGM case.

The historic case involves minor girls from Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota, including some who cried, screamed and bled during the procedure and one who was given Valium ground in liquid Tylenol to keep her calm, court records show.

The judge’s ruling also removed three mothers from the case, including two Minnesota women whom prosecutors said tricked their 7 -year-old daughters into thinking they were coming to Metro Detroit for a girls’ weekend, but instead had their genitals cut at a Livonia clinic as part of a religious procedure.

U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman concluded that “as despicable as this practice may be,” Congress did not have the authority to pass the 22-year-old federal law that criminalizes female genital mutilation, and that it’s a matter for the state’s to regulate

One solid comeback to progressives who say, for example, that science says a fetus isn’t a baby, is to ask how many genders there are, scientifically speaking.

Nature, the science journal, came out Monday in opposition to the Department of Health and Human Services proposal to establish a legal definition of whether someone is male or female based on the genitals they are born with, saying it has “no foundation in science.”

Eugene Volokh just trashes the FGM ruling

Finally, the government asserts that only a federal statute can deal with FGM because, as Congress asserted in its fourth finding, “the unique circumstances surrounding the practice of female genital mutilation place it beyond the ability of any single State or local jurisdiction to control.” This argument fails for at least two reasons.

First, the Commerce Clause allows Congress to regulate commercial activity that has a substantial effect on interstate commerce, not activity that is “beyond the ability of any single State or local jurisdiction to control.” Second, the government informs the Court that twenty-seven states have passed FGM statutes, and nothing prevents the others from doing so. Further, counsel for the government argued during the December 5, 2017, hearing on defendants’ motion to dismiss one of the counts of the second superseding indictment that FGM is criminal sexual conduct because it involves unlawful touching and penetration. If that is correct, then FGM could already be prosecuted in every state under existing criminal sexual conduct statutes, to say nothing of battery or child abuse statutes. The government’s suggestion that “those seeking the procedure [can] travel to refuge states where the practice is not prohibited” is simply false. No state offers refuge to those who harm children.

You can bet good money on that mate! The Pedophiles clergy in the RCC are about the same as the general population, BUT the pedarist clergy are many many times the population mean and the plain old gay population in the RCC and especially the Vatican is probably upwards of 65%.

    And I’m a catholic mate!

As Pope Paul VI said before he died … ” the smoke of Satan has infiltrated the Church”. There hasn’t been a Holy Pope since Pius XII and even he has a few issues. John XXIII was a Mason and probably a pedarist and Paul VI was most likely a Mason as well and had rumours flowing around his career until near his death. John Paul was a good priest and only lasted less than a month in office. Make whatever of that you may! John Paul II started off with a hiss and a roar and helped to bring down Communism but in his dotage he was totally isolated and VERY ILL ADVISED by wicked scumbag clergy and JP II made some terrible decisions that remain with us to this day. Benedict XVI just wanted to be left alone with his books and his writing. He too was isolated by the Vatican bureaucracy and eventually squeezed out by the Sant Galan plotters from Germany and Holland. Now the RCC has Francis I , and he is a creation of the Sant Galan plotters. Now he looks as if he’s reaching the end of his pontificate through either death or retirement and Cardinal Perolin and his fellow plotters are ready to claim the prize. Supposedly Pope Peter I will be the final pope and Perolin can’t wait for it. Early next year we get the first instalment of the One World Church to go with the One World Government!

Very interesting and nothing much has changed when he first wrote it 16 years ago.

Western man towers over the rest of the world in ways so large as to be almost inexpressible. It’s Western exploration, science, and conquest that have revealed the world to itself. Other races feel like subjects of Western power long after colonialism, imperialism, and slavery have disappeared. The charge of racism puzzles whites who feel not hostility, but only baffled good will, because they don’t grasp what it really means: humiliation. The white man presents an image of superiority even when he isn’t conscious of it. And, superiority excites envy. Destroying white civilization is the inmost desire of the league of designated victims we call minorities.

As a European male I was not subject to male genital mutilation.

As this is a predominantly USA forum then the majority of men here were circumcised when very young, without their consent.

How is it that there is outrage about young girls being mutilated but nothing is said about young males?

Very significant difference between the two procedures. Very significant

so 3 times today I’ve heard that the Mexicans are fed up with the caravan bullshit. They’re bringing MS-13 with them and because they now know they can’t get thru to the U.S. they’re starting to peel off or just congregate in numbers the locals can’t handle and they’re causing trouble.

They’ve asked the cartels to take care of business. The cops have told everyone to stay off the streets and stay inside until stuff gets cleaned up

Benedict XVI just wanted to be left alone with his books and his writing.

I don’t think so. He never would have accepted being considered if that were the case. He flat out knows too much

B XVI did know too much but he also was isolated by the truly wicked bureaucracy and he must take responsibility for allowing openly evil Cardinals and Bishops to get away scot free. B XVI could have routed them and sent them packing. After all as Pope he is an Absolute Monarch. He did nothing however and that must weigh heavy on his soul. The Rome Police have files that would make your hair curl but they can’t do anything because the Vatican is a sovereign State within Italy. The cocaine fuelled Bacchanalian parties both within the Vatican as well as the surrounding suburbs with cardinals and bishops and their ‘rent boys’ are legend with the Rome police. With the German bishops and cardinals pulling in Billions of Euros a year from the EU Tax take, thanks to a German law that unites Church and State, both RCC and Protestant. They have virtually no congregations but the Euros keep flowing! Their lifestyles are great! Leaves them plenty of time to plot!

These bastards are so corrupt. They want to line their pocket with their billions for as long as they can. It’s good to be a German Prince of the Church!

Even the Vatican and the RCC in general is becoming independently wealthy. They have always been wealthy in art and real estate but depended upon the laity to ante up their dollars for the day to day running and for charity. Now that they have a corporate corrupt state in place in the EU they don’t care whether the laity contribute anymore. The US laity are actively withholding financial contributions to the Church in the US but the bishops don’t care anymore. They literally don’t need the cash anymore. They have an alternate source of finding. The Church bureaucracy is now beyond the censure of the laity and they know it!
