Theyβll claim it started under Obamaβs wise leadership, and because of a trade war, the economy will crash soon.

I donβt want to hear any more crap about how Trumpβs tariff game with China canβt work either
ββββββββ
After a meeting on July 31, the Politburo, a top decision-making body comprising Chinaβs 25 most senior leaders, issued a statement saying Chinaβs economy maintained steady growth with good momentum in the first half of 2018. However, it now βfaces some new problems and challenges,β the body acknowledged.
More precisely, according to Xinhua, which carried the statement, the countryβs gross domestic product (GDP) growth stayed within the range of 6.7 to 6.9% for 12 straight quarters. βBut a slight weakening was spotted in June in industrial output and investment, and worries have been on the rise that escalating trade tensions could bite into the economy in the future.β

re: the shootings in Chicago
“It is the same people who are pulling the triggers in some of these communities. This isn’t a widespread issue among citizens of the city. This is a small subset of individuals who think they can play by their own rules because they continue to get a slap on the wrist when we arrest them,” Johnson said.
And some of those ‘individuals’ are cops and politicians.
@ eaglesoars:
I was watching a panel on CNN the other night discussing Trump and the economy.
One pundit opined that Trump knows nothing about international trade.
Seriously, the guy said that. I assume that he learned all about it in J School.

I know that you all know the weekend casualty report for Chicago, 63 shot, 10 dead.
there is outrage at the thugs that did it l nah, I am just joshing. The media and city leaders are angry at the guns!
Well, also the manufacturers and joblessness and the heat wave, seriously. You just know. that Trump will
be held somehow responsible.
The solutions are,”We all have to work together” We need understanding”

Remember that the actual GDP figures from China need ‘adjusting’ to take way the skewing and ’empty infrastructure components by 6%. The CCP know that they are currently only just breaking even at just over 6% ‘growth’. Anything Trump initiates will push their economy below 6% which means in fact that they would be in negative growth territory.
That coupled to the push back against the Xi clique of 5 mandarins controlling the Xi sock puppet is an added worry. All is not stable in China and Trump knows it. Perhaps it’s Trump’s turn to deploy one of those
‘nudges’, so celebrated by Obama and Valerie Jarret!

Took the bus to collect my car when Toyota phoned me. The Inner-Loop bus went via the University of Auckland and Auckland Hospital and Medical School. Goy got on and sat behind me opening crying in bursts with bought of apologising between them. His mum had just passed away in hospital. I turned around to him and told him that he had nothing to apologise for as it was just fine to cry when you lose your mum. He then fell to bits totally. Poor guy. Got off a few stops later still sobbing.

That’s rough. I had an trans-Atlantic flight from FRA to Detroit back in 2005 and sat next to a soldier who was on leave from Iraq. He was tired but struck up a conversation with me. I eventually found out he was going home because his mother had suddenly died and spent the next few hours speaking with with him (he wept at times) and I spent most of the time listening and asking a pointed question once in awhile. I let him steer the conversation. He showed me the scar where an AK47 round grazed his neck that happened a few months prior, so I understood he was in an emotional abyss. Ater we landed, he told me he appreciated my time.
Always wondered what happened to him.

Chicago has always been a corrupt rats nest though I have a few good Weekends there in the past. When Illinois finally goes bust and can no longer fund their graft, I expect most of the city to go up in flames south of the river and well into Gary, IN.
Buckeye Abroad wrote:
oh, expect it before that. They’ve levied a new property tax effective for the next 30 years (IOW, forever) in order to fund the bankrupt public pension funds. A 44% increase. Good luck trying to sell and get out, because nobody is going to buy into THAT.
So, if it were me – just sayin’ – and I wanted out of the place, what are my options? Burn the thing down and collect the insurance.

By Constitution the State may not file for bankruptsy. Soooooo
@ RIX:
I feel for you. I have a good friend near Baltimore who has a house he has been trying to sell for years. He said once his ill inlaws pass (his wife is taking care of them), he is leaving Maryland as fast as possible as his job is not location dependent. His wife has a nice spread, but the amount of taxes they pay (they are DINKs) they are fiscally punished for staying.
Eventually all those state pensioners and welfare rats are going to get the big shaft and there will be nobody left to blame.
@ Buckeye Abroad:
Then the American taxpayers will be on the hook to bail them out.
Oh yeah, they should make this part of their platform
To save American trust in “our institutions, democracy, free press, and markets,” it suggests, we need unprecedented and undemocratic government intervention into online press and markets, including “comprehensive (GDPR-like) data protection legislation” of the sort enacted in the E.U.
