Trump’s Foreign Policy, Back to the Future.

by coldwarrior ( 58 Comments › )
Filed under American Exceptionalism, Donald Trump, Economy, Open thread at December 17th, 2018 - 6:00 am

The following link is for an article that rightly points out the Trump’s foreign policy is what is best for America, and for the World. This was argued over and over again here on these pages during the Blogmocracy Civil War that pitted Trump’s supporters versus the wanna-be elitist/globalist Chickenhawk faction. Another defeated faction in this fight is the Bill Kristol Battalion of War Mongers. Their false bravery and willingness to send every one else’s kids off to die for no good reason won’t be missed. Globalism and Transnational Progressivism are one in the same. They are vehicles for a Marxists future where the non-elite are simply wards of, and subject to, ‘The State’. Our own elitists in the GOP were all for this. This struggle permiates the need for Trump’s ‘Principled Realism’ versus Bush’s “Freedom Agenda”.

Pleas go here for the Original Article.

All the elements of the Trump doctrine are revealed in this maiden speech. This includes reversing military decline (“We will spend what we need to rebuild our military”); an emphasis on economic strength and “technological superiority” in geo-political competition; confronting the threats from China, North Korea, Iran and radical Islam; opposing nation-building; reversing Obama’s ambivalence with strong support for Israel; ending illegal immigration; and “strengthening and promoting Western Civilization.” Finally, the candidate rejected the “false flag of globalism” and declared, “The nation-state remains the true foundation for happiness and harmony.”…He makes the moral argument that ultimate political authority resides in the people of a nation, not in transnational global elites nor in the always “evolving” notions of international (essentially transnational) law.

I bought a Saturn in 2007. I thought they were made in the U.S. but after purchase I saw they were made in Mexico. This was after GM acquired the line, which was originally built in, I believe, Tennessee. Swore after 2009 that I’d never purchase another car from Government Motors, and I’ve always been fond of Chevy.

They’re deserving everything they get. My HYUNDAI was built in the U.S. – in Alabama.

Judges, alas, cannot disbar them. That has to be done by the Disciplinary Committees of the state(s) where they are admitted to practice. Even after the Stevens prosecution and the revelations in the Arthur Andersen and Merrill Lynch post Enron trials, these scumbags kept their licenses.

But I would love to see orders from Judge Sullivan to their State Bars, asking for investigations into their unethical practices.

No, they can’t. But they can imprison them and impose on them circumstances that make practicing very difficult. They can say nasty things about them in opinions, such as “I believe the Defendant has grounds to pursue a civil action against X on grounds of prosecutorial misconduct…” etc. etc.

We really need to change the legal system around.

He will be one of those to whom Christ will say at the judgment after they say, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?” and he will say to them, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

I’ve seen just a few seconds of that clip somewhere, just of Jeb’s face seeing something and falling. The problem I have with that kind of thing is that I’ve seen how it can be manipulated. I remember one clip that purported to show Trump dissing Melania at the inauguration and you could see she was just crushed.

Until you found out that they had run the few seconds backwards and when you saw the actual film, it was a completely different story

sometime today Mueller did finally turn over to Sullivan what he says is the ‘original’ 302 of the Flynn interview. I gather it’s largely redacted.

yeah, well, we sort of figured it out, but thanks for getting it out formally

British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who wrote the Democrat-financed anti-Trump dossier, said in a court case that he was hired by a Democratic law firm in preparation for Hillary Clinton challenging the results of the 2016 presidential election.

He said the law firm Perkins Coie wanted to be in a position to contest the results based on evidence he unearthed on the Trump campaign conspiring with Moscow on election interference.

His scenario is contained in a sealed Aug. 2 declaration in a defamation law suit brought by three Russian bankers in London. The trio’s American attorneys filed his answers Tuesday in a libel lawsuit in Washington against the investigative firm Fusion GPS, which handled the former British intelligence officer.

In an answer to interrogatories, Mr. Steele wrote: “Fusion’s immediate client was law firm Perkins Coie. It engaged Fusion to obtain information necessary for Perkins Coie LLP to provide legal advice on the potential impact of Russian involvement on the legal validity of the outcome of the 2016 US Presidential election.

“Based on that advice, parties such as the Democratic National Committee and HFACC Inc. (also known as ‘Hillary for America’) could consider steps they would be legally entitled to take to challenge the validity of the outcome of that election.”

Greg Jarrett is saying that today Judge Sullivan issued something a called a ‘minute order’ telling Mueller to hand that 302 over NOW. I don’t know what a minute order is but…

Sara Carter is noting that Mueller STILL hasn’t turned over the raw notes of the interview.

It appears there are some issues with the 302 – plural, I think, that Mueller turned over today

“It’s completely a coincidence we have two identical drafts at three different dates; not at all because we re-edited original version. Also, a coincidence we didn’t record it, asked for no lawyer to be present, lost original handwritten notes & hide one of the agents involved.”

    @ AZfederalist:

So, just to back up my opinion with facts:

In the Senate race, there were a total of 2,383,742 votes counted, Sinema won by 55,900 votes

In the Governor’s race, there were a total of 2,325,204 votes counted. Lo and behold, the difference in votes counted between the Governor’s race and the Senate race was 58,538 fewer votes in the Governor’s race than in the Senate race. … and of that fewer votes, 55,900 of them went to Sinema. Wow! Isn’t that an amazing coincidence!

Now, another interesting factoid, I looked at the other state races. The two other main races (AG and Sec of State) differed in numbers from the Governor’s race by 7300 and 3000 votes. Even the Superintendent of Public education was only 26,000 votes less counted compared to the Governor’s race.

According to zerohedge, the judge told Flynn he could delay sentencing if Flynn was willing to co-operate more with Government.

“After confirming that Flynn would still cooperate, the judge’s statements took a harsh turn, with the judge accusing Flynn of having ‘sold out his country.’

“All along you were an unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as the national security adviser of the president of the United States…Arguably that undermines everything that flag over here stands for. Arguably, you sold your country out.”

He then asked prosecutors considered charging Flynn with treason, to which they hesitated before replying that it wasn’t considered.
•ARGUABLY, YOU SOLD YOUR COUNTRY OUT,’ JUDGE TELLS FLYNN
•AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES ARE `SERIOUS,’ JUDGE TELLS FLYNN
•JUDGE AGAIN OFFERS FLYNN MORE TIME TO COOPERATE BEFORE SENTENCE
•JUDGE ASKS IF FLYNN MIGHT HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH TREASON
•PROSECUTOR SAYS `HESITANT TO ANSWER’ BUT NOT SAME AS FARA

According to the Hill, Flynn’s sentencing will be a “milestone” in the Mueller probe, which has spanned 19 months. As he approached the courthouse in Virginia, Flynn waded through what one journalist described as a “mosh pit” of demonstrators.

Flynn’s appearance in D.C. federal court before U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan will be viewed as a key milestone in an investigation that has prodded along for 19 months amidst high public intrigue and increasing vitriol from the president.

It was expected that Flynn wouldn’t receive significant jail time thanks to his “substantial assistance” to Mueller (the special counsel recommended a lenient sentence). Though Flynn was facing up to six months in prison. As a reminder, Flynn has sat for 19 separate sessions with the special counsel amounting to 60 hours of questioning.”
