Rush Limbaugh is fond of saying that the reason the media cannot destroy Trump’s relationship with his supporters is primarily because the media did not CREATE the relationship between them. Trump’s so-called “base” believe in Trump’s agenda because they believe in him – not because Morning Schmoe had him on MSNBC. (I really believe that Schmoe and Spouse thought that once Donald Trump was elected, they were going to somehow be the new media power couple best friends of POTUS and FLOTUS and were quite surprised to find out the President can spot a loser and a phony from about 10 miles out. Hence, Schmoe now seeks to destroy what he thinks he created. Unfortunately, all he’s really accomplished is to evidence that he’s starting to resemble that porch kid from “Deliverance” more than just physically at this point.)

The same, however, cannot be said of one Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the media sensation with the hyperthyroid eyes and donkey snout. Much was made of her stunning defeat of old-school incumbent Joseph Crowley in the NY-14 primary, treating it as masterful politicking and brilliant campaign strategy. Except, no, not really. Consider some facts. Each Congressional district essentially represents 711,000 people. In NY-14, there are approximately 245,000 registered Democrats, in a district that is almost all either White or Hispanic. However, in the PRIMARY, only 10% of those voters turned out. Cortez got 16,898 votes; Crowley 12,880; so by a margin of 2.5% of the registered voters in her district, a grandstanding blight was unleashed into the American political arena.

Immediately, the media couldn’t wait to get the 28-year-old Democrat (who touted a degree in ECONOMICS, no less, from Boston University!) onto every major media outlet imaginable. She was Young! She was Pretty!  She was a Democratic Socialist!

She was also dumber than dirt.

AOC distinguished herself in those early interviews by making statements that put her ignorance of economics, international affairs, world history, and for all I know, the price of tea in China, on full display.  Her excuse?  “Hey, I’m not the expert on this stuff!”  This stuff?  When she uttered those cute little words, all I could think of was this:

Ben Shapiro, not precisely my favorite person in the world, but an articulate individual who knows a thing or three, challenged the former bartender to a debate.  He was willing to pay her $10,000 – not a bad sum for someone running a campaign for Congress.  She whined that he was “catcalling her.”  And, God help us, she’s been whining ever since.

Poor AOC.  She apparently believed that running in a 90% Democrat Congressional District and getting more airtime on CNN and NBC than anyone since Michael Avenatti, attorney to the (porn) stars, she was in for an easy ride.  She’s apparently forgotten there’s a whooooole other media out there, ready to hold her up to the ridicule she so richly deserves.  Heck, even the more educated and even handed among the liberal MSM are embarrassed by her.  When Anderson Cooper interviewed her and she made her “tippy top tax” statement, the expression on Anderson’s face could almost be interpreted as “how the HELL did you get elected?”  Because for all her fake resume of being “Alex from the Bronx” (when she’s really Sandy from Westchester), she exhibits an amazing amount of immaturity when it comes to criticism.

She whined about finding an apartment in D.C. because she “hadn’t been paid yet.”  Talk to the hand, honey.  Try looking in San Francisco.

She whined when Donald Trump Jr. used a meme about her in one of his tweets, and then turned around and literally threatened him by saying “Please, keep it coming Jr – it’s definitely a ‘very, very large brain’ idea to troll a member of a body that will have subpoena power in a month.”  He’s accomplished a great deal in his life; you were still perfecting the ratios for an Old Fashioned when you were elected, and honey, and last I checked, no matter who his father is, he’s still a private citizen.

Between that and fellow House member Eric Swalwell (Dumb-Silicon Valley) threatening NRA members with Nukes, we have so much to look forward to with this incoming Congress.

AOC believes that she is mocked by the right because they’re “afraid” of her, and her 1,000,000 Twitter followers take up the gauntlet for her on a daily basis.   These are probably the same type of people that put themselves inside the funerals of Princess Diana and Gianni Versace – they literally believe if they leave flowers at a gate or tweet about it, they are a part of the story.  They believe she is their socialist messiah, and they want to be a part of her fabulous Congressional life.  Until the day the reality hits.

I recently saw a documentary on Netflix about something called the “Fyre Festival”, an event I had actually never heard of, which was to take place in the Bahamas in 2017.  It was supposed to be this grandiose affair, hyped by the media and a promotional video featuring a dozen people I didn’t recognize, except one of the Kardashians, who all pushed it on Twitter and Instagram via a large orange block with the words “Fyre Festival…Will YOU BE THERE?”.  Since these people are what are referred to as “influencers” in social media, it’s target market was rich kids with trust funds, who were more than willing to fork over something like $5,000 to sleep in luxury glamping tents on the beach and frolic with super models.  There were to be primo acts, fabulous cuisine catered by world-class chefs, the most luxurious music festival ever.  Why, you could even rent a luxury villa for the two weekends for $250,000.  You would travel there by private jet.

Except it was all a fraud.  There were tents – of the FEMA variety.  Mattresses left to soak out in the rain which had to be carried in by the festival goers.  The fabulous cuisine was a dry cheese sandwich in a styrofoam take out container with seven lettuce leaves thrown in.  The private jet was a 737 with no air conditioning and people crammed in their seats.  There were no luxury villas.  Most if not all of the musical acts pulled out in advance when they weren’t paid.  Pretty much all the festival goers, who 12 hours earlier were dancing and singing in the Miami airport on their way to “FYRE!” were drenched and miserable sitting on a the tarmac for six hours on a plane trying to return to Miami.  And when they got home and posted their tales of woe at being duped, they didn’t get a whole lot of sympathy from hoi poloi, who couldn’t help but post their schadenfreude at these “better than you because I’m going to Fyre” rich kids who had been taken in by a slick, media-hyped fraud.

Which pretty much sums up what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez really is.  A slick media promotion with nothing whatsoever to back up the hype.

I’d like to look into her staff. There is that David Hockner guy (I think that’s his name) who was on Tucker’s show. There’s the woman with the unpronounceable Indian name who created the Green Deal document.

Because if they’re all like Hockner, we’re looking at an office full of con men who either do, should, or will have, criminal records.

btw, that FAQ doc that they’re saying is fake and that they removed from their website – somebody pulled the meta data from it – date/time created, written on a mac owned by that Indian chick, etc. etc. All it means it was typed up on a machine ‘owned’ by her. But she’s one of the ones out there and I want to know who the fuck she is.

      https://amgreatness.com/2019/02/06/shutdown-revelation-essentially-nonessential-employees/

Consider that during the shutdown we sent home 800,000 nonessential federal government employees. The first question a rational person should ask upon hearing that is in what world does any organization, for profit or even nonprofit, have even one employee considered nonessential, much less nearly 40 percent of its workers? The answer is that world doesn’t exist. Neither a for-profit nor a nonprofit would be in business very long with that many nonessential employees. Yet we taxpayers fund roughly 2 million civilian government employees at a cost of $136 billion every year.

Fauxcohontas is working on her standup routine:

Warren takes on Trump, says he may not be ‘free’ in 2020

Back in Iowa as a full-fledged presidential candidate, Democrat Elizabeth Warren took aim at President Donald Trump on Sunday, saying he “may not even be a free person” by next year’s election.

The Massachusetts senator’s comments came a day after Trump renewed his criticism of her past claims of Native American heritage. In a tweet, Trump called Warren “Pocahontas” and said he would see her “on the campaign TRAIL.”

The White House didn’t explain what the president was referring to in his tweet, though some Democrats accused him of making light of the Trail of Tears — the forced removal of Cherokee and several other Native American tribes from their lands in the 1830s. Warren’s campaign wouldn’t say what the senator believes Trump was referencing.

Warren has largely avoided talking about Trump since she began testing the waters for a campaign more than a month ago. During her first of three events Sunday in eastern Iowa, Warren said the president shouldn’t be allowed to dictate the direction of the campaign with divisive attacks.

“Every day there is a racist tweet, a hateful tweet — something really dark and ugly,” she said. “What are we as candidates, as activists, as the press, going to do about it? We’re going to chase after those every day?”

She continued: “Here’s what bothers me. By the time we get to 2020, Donald Trump may not even be president. In fact, he may not even be a free person.”

Warren didn’t explain her comment, though she appeared to be referring to the multiple investigations that have shadowed Trump’s presidency. Asked later if she supported impeaching Trump, Warren was noncommittal, saying only that special counsel Robert Mueller needs to be allowed to finish his investigation and make his report public.

“If we go down that path, we’re going to need to help pull this country together and have as many people as possible understand it was a legitimate process based on facts,” she said.

It is not a legitimate process based on facts. If they continue down this road she will see a split in this country that makes the current one look tame.

The President baited her with the Trail comment. He was not referring to Trail of Tears but the campaign trail, but he knows that she has a hard time controlling her mouth and set her up to make her look like the fool she is. Unfortunately, this time her staff apparently figured out the game and didn’t take the bait.

Other than absolute hatred of Trump by the left, this political theater is still in their minds “revenge” for Clinton. What they don’s seem to grasp here is that 90% of the country knew Clinton was guilty. Even those on the left understood that, that’s why they tried to minimize the severity of his crimes. This time around they are going after a President with decent polling, on accusations that most of the country knows are baseless. This is going to blow up in their faces spectacularly. If Mueller had anything the “investigation” wouldn’t still be dragging on.

So true. That’s just like their push to create a new civil war for their glorious “revolution”. They just can’t seem to grasp that they aren’t the well armed ones. And they try to push this crap when they don’t even have control of the military. (Not that the military will follow them is the SHTF).

      That poll is a lie

Worries about climate change have increased sharply since 2013, with double-digit percentage point increases seen in countries including the United States,

climate change comes in last on any poll of Americans about their biggest concerns. Now, if the percentage went from 2% to 3% that’s a 50% – double digit – increase, isn’t it.

Salvini wants to get rid of Italy’s Central Bank. An Italian banking collapse could crack apart the EU. Italy wants out of the corrupt EU.

On Friday, in a moment of predictive insight, Bank of America correctly warned that the greatest threat to EPS – i.e., markets – in the next 3 years “is an acceleration of global populism via taxation, regulation & government intervention.” Just one day later, this warning to the financial establishment was starkly manifest in that ground zero for Europe’s populist revolt, Italy, where the country’s coalition government hinted at where the global populist wave is headed next when he slammed the country’s central bank leadership and stock market regulator, escalating its attacks on establishment figures ahead of the European parliamentary vote in May.

Matteo Salvini, the outspoken head of the anti-immigrant League party, said the Bank of Italy and Consob, the country’s stock market regulator, should be “reduced to zero, more than changing one or two people, reduced to zero”, or in other words eliminated, and that “fraudsters” who inflicted losses on Italian savers should “end up in prison for a long time.”

As the FT notes, this latest broadside against Italy’s financial establishment comes as the two parties which are increasingly at odds with each other amid speculation Salvini may hold elections to become the sole leader of Italy, prepare to run against each other in the European parliamentary elections in May, a contest widely seen as a proxy for national polls. Meanwhile, both leaders have also increased their attacks against targets including the EU and French president Emmanuel Macron.

Confirming the rising animosity between the two coalition partners, the League and Five Star have openly squabbled over the future of an Alpine rail line and migration, while the two leaders’ repeated attacks against France which culminated with Di Maio meeting the leaders of the anti-Macron Yellow Vest moment, triggered a diplomatic crisis which last week saw Paris recall its ambassador from Rome

I think Illan Omar might be very good for Republicans. The Dem Jews are about to slam their checkbooks.

Freshman Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar ignited a new controversy on Sunday night when she suggested GOP support for Israel is driven by campaign donations from a prominent pro-Israel group.
Omar singled out AIPAC, one of the most influential lobbying groups in Washington, as the source of those donations.

Omar’s comments touched upon a long-running, and particularly ugly, thread of the anti-Semitic movement — that Jewish money fuels backing for Israel in the United States and elsewhere. A freshman Democrat, Max Rose of New York, said, “Congresswoman Omar’s statements are deeply hurtful to Jews, including myself.”

In other manufactured-reality news we have:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom will announce plans Monday to pull back all members of the National Guard who have been deployed to the border with Mexico, saying the state would not be part of the Trump administration’s “manufactured crisis.”

The 360 National Guard troops in California will be redeployed to fight wildfires, expand the state’s Drug Task Force and collect intelligence on drug cartels, Newsom will announce.

Before I get hit by outside forces for “plagiarism” – I did not listen to Rush Limbaugh’s Friday podcast until this morning on the bus/BART going to work. Turns out Rush pointed out her army of Twitter followers that rush to her defense whenever she utters her latest moronic prose. He pointed out that without the legion of boot lickers propping her up, she would start learning that she’s really “out” there and perhaps would learn to be more circumspect.

I didn’t follow the news on Sunday – between the delay start in the AT&T and the NASCAR Exhibition race (also delayed), I didn’t get a hell of a lot done yesterday. Was the MSM still celebrating the twit?

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — U.S. Steel Corp. says it’s restarting construction on an idled manufacturing facility in Alabama, and it’s giving some of the credit to President Donald Trump’s trade policies.

The Pittsburgh-based company says Trump’s “strong trade actions” are partly responsible for the resumption of work on an advanced plant near Birmingham. The administration’s tariffs have raised prices on imported steel and aluminum.

The manufacturer also cited improving market conditions, union support and government incentives in a statement Monday.

U.S. Steel suspended work on the electric arc furnace in December 2015. It says work is resuming immediately and the facility will have an annual capacity of 1.6 million tons (1.5 million metric tons).

The company is also updating other equipment. It plans to spend about $215 million and add about 150 full-time workers.

Despite Guns And Schools Debate, Participation On Pennsylvania High School Rifle Teams Is Increasing

While several of the schools that offer rifle programs hail from rural areas — Armstrong, Avella, Trinity, Waynesburg and West Greene, for instance — more suburban schools like Plum, Hempfield, Butler, Mt. Lebanon and Woodland Hills have teams, too. The former Munhall High School won 23 WPIAL championships between 1942 and 1969.

I was on the Mt Lebo rifle team. The first time I won a competition, they announced it the next day over the homeroom morning broadcast and everybody turned to look at me. HER?? The HIPPIE chick??!!

You can’t tell me Garcetti doesn’t know what the outcome of this will be. He’s getting paid off by somebody

Eric Garcetti Declares ‘Green New Deal’ in L.A., Cancels Natural Gas Plants; Officials Doubt ‘Keeping the Lights On’

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti declared Monday that the city would abandon plans to rebuild three natural gas power plants, despite concerns that the city could face acute power shortages as a result.
Instead, the city will look for energy from renewable sources, including wind and solar, he decided.

“This is the Green New Deal … Not in concept, not in the future, but now,” Garcetti said, as quoted by the Los Angeles Times.

He made the decision despite the fact that “top staffers have argued in recent months that the gas plants are critical to keeping the lights on in the city,” the Times noted.

Gavin Newsom has announced in his State of the State address that he’s dumping the high-speed rail from Los Angeles to San Francisco as too costly and taking too long, which means they will also be dumping the idiot idea to one day extend it to San Diego.

However, not to let Jerry Brown outdo him in the dumber than dirt department, he says he wants to keep the segment that they have been working on, Bakersfield to Merced. He says “I know some will say it’s a ‘train to nowhere’ but I think that’s wrong and that’s offensive.”

No, Governor s**t for brains. What’s offensive is the almost $77 billion in funds that have been wasted on a train that is going to have as it’s sole purpose taking idiots from the spas in Merced to the Maserati dealership in Bakersfield. ONE way and only once. No one needs to fast-track a 163-mile trip that can probably be driven in under three hours. Especially after hitting that Maserati dealership.

We already have train tracks though the Central Valley. That’s how we get the effing CROPS out.

After nearly two decades of learning and perfecting his craft under Alejandro’s guidance, AJ fled Cuba to Esteli, Nicaragua, and established his own cigar factory. Utilizing traditional Cuban cigar-making techniques, along with several secret family processes, his cigars embrace a unique old world character that’s traditional and familiar, but distinctive as well. His proprietary premium tobaccos are superior in nature and fermented to perfection. His quality control measures are among the most stringent in the industry. And his uncanny ability to work with and properly blend tobaccos is nearly unsurpassed.”

Oh, and by the way, the new Transit Terminal that they just finished up in San Francisco, has as its LOWEST level the space for the High Speed Rail train tracks and the concourse to go along with it.

Now, the Cal Train commuter train from San Francisco to the Peninsula (San Jose) will also be able to use that concourse, and this was planned, but construction hasn’t even STARTED on the rail extension from the current terminus at 4th and Townsend. This will have to be done completely underground since there’s a lot of pricey real estate already occupying the space. And frankly, there’s been a falling off of ridership since the buses started taking the techies from San Francisco to Silicon Valley and pick them up in their neighborhoods. BART now travels as far south as the Airport.

$77 billion. And Gavin doesn’t want to give the federal funds back, either.

I took over with baby Rohan last night. Thought I’d got away with it until 0230 ! The wee man filled his boots. I considered laying ‘dog-O’ and hoping that he was going to doze off but my bloody sense of responsibility kicked in. I thought I’d turned off that mode during the O-Dark Thirty schedule. Then I thought of the nappy rash by 0630. Snuck around turning outside lights so that indirect lighting wouldn’t totally wake him up and used a disposable. There was shit all over the place from one ‘gia-normace’ movement. Couldn’t keep him enough asleep and clean him up. Then he decided he wanted a quick snack. Groan…..

By 0300 I had him back in his crib and he was back to sleep. Naturally by the time I cleaned up myself there was no more sleep left in me! Up again at 0630 for an onetime feed. Todays his monthly visit to hospital. His mum is down here at the ‘beach’; while their bathroom is being gutted and rebuilt. They were on the road back to Auckland by 0730 and collected family on the way as they are talking ‘solids! Big deal ehhh? 🙂

His dad snuck away from shift ( the precinct Sarge told him to go for 60 minutes ) as he wanted to be there to support his wee man. The Police place new dads and dads with family problems in this ‘slow precinct’, so that they can get away when they have to for family reasons. Pretty nice of the cops and they look after their own!

Nancy may indeed have asked him to “announce” – I think she’s really still about putting AOC in her place right now. That refusing to name her to the Select Committee on Climate Change was the first strike. This may very well be her second.

Gavin wants to be President. I would NOT be surprised to see him throw his hat in the ring, but not right now. The field is cluttered with announcements. He’d just be one of many. I look for him to declare in June or July, when he can actually get some attention. Especially if that other Californian, Horizontal Harris, is still on her slow path to disaster.

Because we’re moms. When Bonnie was sick there was a period of time where I did not get more than 3 hrs of contiguous sleep for 38 straight days. I know she wasn’t human and I didn’t give birth to her, but the maternal instinct is what it is. And it is fierce.

I’ve also heard a lot that indicates Justice Democrats is basically a money-laundering operation. It’s not a PAC in the usual sense of giving money to candidates. They make the candidates pay them for an endorsement, and the money is all spent on “consultants.”

Who are all associates of Uyguyr.

Kamala Harris Says She Listened To Tupac And Snoop While Smoking Weed In College. There’s Just One Problem.

Did Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) smoke marijuana in college, or while she was arresting people for minor drug offenses?

That was the question circulating social media Monday evening, after Harris said she smoked a “joint” in college during an interview with the radio show, “The Breakfast Club.” Co-host “Charlemagne tha God” asked Harris if she had ever smoked marijuana, to which the California senator replied: “I have.”

“And I did inhale. I did inhale! It was a long time ago, but yes. I just broke loose,” Harris added. She then claimed she smoke a “joint” while in college and remembered being high.

“I think [marijuana] gives a lot of people joy,” Harris said. “And we need more joy in the world.”

When asked what music she listened to when she smoked, Harris said, “Oh yeah, definitely Snoop. Tupac for sure.”

Except, Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986, and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1989. Tupac released his first album, “2Pacalypse Now,” on November 12, 1991 — two years after Harris graduated from law school. Snoop Dogg released his first album, “Doggystyle,” on November 23, 1993 — four years after Harris graduated law school.

By the time Tupac and Snoop began releasing albums, Harris was already working as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, CA. She started that job in 1990 and left in 1998.

Well, see The Carlyle Group, etc. Not new. I’m sure Uyguyr knows them all, they all know each other. It’s a small world here.

Altho I doubt AOC gave them a dime as it seems she’s never had one.

Most likely suspects: those opposing the border wall and tighter border security. We have places in Arizona that are freakin’ no-go zones because the cartels use them for drug and human trafficking routes with lookout points. We need the military to take back the land we are losing to the invaders.

Yeah, but no or reduced carbs is far more tolerable than any other diet out there. Plus is had my blood sugar at absolutely perfect levels. It’s just a meat and fresh veggie diet is hard to keep up with on a limited budget. (Especially when having to also get food for picky teens).

Also, I absolutely love eating out at new locations on weeks I don’t have my kids.

I know it’s a bit early for this screed, but it’s interesting. George Soros is worried. And he’s whining about it.

MUNICH – Europe is sleepwalking into oblivion, and the people of Europe need to wake up before it is too late. If they don’t, the European Union will go the way of the Soviet Union in 1991. Neither our leaders nor ordinary citizens seem to understand that we are experiencing a revolutionary moment, that the range of possibilities is very broad, and that the eventual outcome is thus highly uncertain

FYI for dog people. A lot of us use peanut butter to pill (or treat) our dogs. It appears some mfgs are adding xylitol to their nut butters. Check the labels. There’s a list in the linked article, but I wouldn’t take it as complete.
