    Salesmanship

The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship. Little Sally led off. “I sold SES cookies and I made $30” she said proudly. “My sales approach was to appeal to the customer’s civic spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success.” “Very good”, said the teacher.

Little Debbie was next. “I sold magazines” she said, “I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.” “Very good, Debbie”, said the teacher.

Eventually, it was Little Johnny’s turn. The teacher held her breath. Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher’s desk. “$2,467”, he said. “$2,467!” cried the teacher, “What in the world were you selling?” Toothbrushes”, said Little Johnny.

“Toothbrushes”, echoed the teacher, “How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?”

“I found the busiest corner in town”, said Little Johnny, “I set up a Chip & Dip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample.” They all said the same thing, “Hey, this tastes like dog shit!” Then I would say, “It is dog s**t, you wanna buy a toothbrush? I used the typical democrats’ method of giving you some crap, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it’s free, and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth.”

Little Johnny got an A+ for his assignment. Bless his heart

Ideological paralysis. They honestly thought they could bring utopia and when Hell showed up, they had no mental framework to operate in. The idea can’t be the problem, the problem must be ‘elsewhere’ and they don’t know know how to get to ‘elsewhere’, besides it isn’t their fault.

Did you see the clip – I’ve forgotten where it was, perhaps Seattle or Portland – of a council meeting with a gentleman who was given 2 minutes to speak. He started to note that no one was listening, they were all checking their phones, and the council chair just kept counting down the time he had left. Time’s up!

The only way I can see this getting fixed is if these people – and that includes San Francisco – are held up to ferocious, unrelenting, national ridicule and scorn. I mean front page, above the fold headlines in NYT and USAT, lead stories on MSNBC, etc.

    Nevermind.

The voters in AOC’s district have buyers remorse. None of them can get in touch with her on local issues. She does encourage them to follow her on twitter. The bug-eyed tooth fairy thinks she represents all of New York. (for starters)

There’s a ‘thing’ out there called ‘Modern Monetary Theory’ (MMT) that is being touted as the new solution to economic problems. It’s a casserole of leftover ideas from various Economists. I read about it once and concluded that I had more important things to do with my time than tease out the actual message. You don’t have to take my word for it, but bullshit baffles brains (BBB)can be a good alternative acronym for MMT. I expect to see more MMT squirrels in the future.

  10. yenta-fada
    10 | April 4, 2019 6:02 pm

The Rockefellers have been the primary supporters of locking in Canada’s oilsands. Our key oil Province, Alberta, lost the last election for the Conservatives (Federal and Provincial) with direct funding from the TIDES foundation and other globalists who want to shut down every kind of resource extraction in Canada.

I can’t cut and paste properly here lately, so you are getting me take on Canadian real news. The current Premier of Alberta, Notely, is the Socialist who will likely get kicked out April 16th. She worked together with Trudolt to shut down Pipelines, causing 100,000 direct job losses in Alberta. For many years the story has been Alberta makes, Quebec takes. We are OWNED by the UN. imho, of course.

  11. eaglesoars
    11 | April 4, 2019 6:10 pm

    @ yenta-fada:

MMT basically redfines the relationship between the state’s spending and the money the state prints. Classical theory says spending should be funded by taxes and debt issuance (bonds). MMT sez “oh, hell, just print the money, when inflation hits, THEN you can start taxing, etc.

(Impose taxes when the money is worth LESS? So, in order to achieve the ‘real value’, the tax rate would have to be high enough to make up for the inflated value of the money?)

The emphasis of MMT is on fiscal policy instead of monetary policy.

I don’t think anybody has ever tried it. It seems people tout it as the clearest route to ‘full employment’ but I’ve never worked out the logic.

  12. yenta-fada
    12 | April 4, 2019 6:33 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

Thanks! If MMT does not relate to monetary policy, why do they call it ‘Monetary’ theory? This kind of misleading label seems like ‘war is peace’ newspeak we see with lie-beral speak. Media control has extended itself to twitter, facebook, and youtube. The Left accelerates marginalization of Conservative points of view. They ban conservative speakers outright. They also ‘shadow ban’ writers on the Right by reducing the stated numbers of viewers posted on youtube vids. YouTube de-monetized conservative writers more than a year ago.

Also I notice that anti jihad and anti socialist blogs are referred to as ‘alt-right’ instead of conservative or moderate conservative.
Capturing and controlling the language is so common that it has become the norm. Remember the all out demonization of the Tea Party? This went on in news reporting from Europe, Russia, and Asia. They were all reading from the UN script.

As long as you have an exceptional leader who enjoys standing up to globalists, you can retain liberties. This stubborn streak of Liberty which is unique to America will see you re-elect Trump. (imo) As long as there is a free America, there is an example for the world. I’m counting on yinzes.

    @ eaglesoars:

BTW, as individual States get more desperate for taxes, real estate will take a hit in already high tax areas. This is part of the ongoing assault on the middle class. The higher property taxes lead to a lower priced value of the property. The tax MUST lower the valuation or nobody can afford home ownership. The very real issue of rich pensions for Federal and State retirees impacts the bottom line in big cities. You see the reaction to this most strongly in California with wealthy people fleeing the State due to high taxes and strict regulations in many categories.

Well it’s about MONEY and how the state should account for it. It’s EMPHASIS, not relationship.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but the only thing I trust is the boundless capacity of the other side to cheat.

I missed all the news today, I was either in a mtg or prepping for it and didn’t come up for air until 3:30. Then I had to do the grocer run/dinner thing. Has there been something about Brennan and UK intel?

Mueller leaked – so it starts.

This is a lengthy summary of the whole Mueller mess. You have to re-interpret past revelations in light of what is coming out now. It talks about Carter Page and the complexity of his roles throughout the investigation.

The filthy lying democrats bring their tactics forward to stonewall Trump’s policies and continue to push for impeachment. Impeachment is the red herring since it is now PROVEN that Trump commited NO CRIME wrt the Russians. The dogocrats continue to nip away at the heels of any issue that the media considers newsworthy.

He was an informant, as are many civilians who have business in other countries our gov’t would like to know more about and agree to meet with gov’t agencies every now and then. This is not news and hardly uncommon.

I just watched the Howard Schultz town hall from Kansas City on FNC. That is an hour of my life that I will never get back. It was wall to wall virtue signaling. He called his meeting a hate free zone, cause you know he is just so moral, much more moral than you are. At one point he made a gratuitious slam on Trump, “Raise your hands if you want your children to grow up to be like the president.”
I really expected more, a real nose bleed.

If you can afford the tickets, which are obscene, you can afford the parking. When the new stadium opened, I gave Hubby some tickets as a gift and they were so expensive, we were shocked. That was his last game at Yankee Stadium.

    Andy McCarthy just RIPS Mueller.

Mueller was even arguably needed to answer only one question: Did President Trump obstruct justice? On that, Mueller abdicated, refusing to render a prosecutorial judgment. This dereliction of duty in his final act further elucidated that there was neither a legal basis nor a practical need for the appointment of a special counsel.

    got that? DERELICTION OF DUTY.

Beyoncé Walked Out of a Meeting with Reebok Because of a Lack of Diversity in the Room

“[Beyoncé] had a meeting at Reebok and they had a whole presentation of everything, potential products, how this could all look, and she kind of took a step back and said, ‘Is this the team that will be working on my product?’” ESPN’s Nick DePaula revealed on the show The Jump.

“Somebody said, ‘Yes,’ and she said, ‘Nobody in this room reflects by background, my skin color and where I’m from and what I want to do.’ So she took a step back and left and then it did not come to terms.”

‘where I’m from’ is solidly middle class. Mom owned a hair salon, dad was a salesman for Xerox. She was upper class compared to a lot of other whites, forget about blacks. She attended magnet schools and schools for the performing arts. So “where I’m from” is a bullshit myth.

I’ve checked out some pics of the NZ PM, “Jacinda” I think she used to be a man. She shows man parts in a close fitting dress just like ‘Michelle’. Once you really notice it, it gets more obvious. She’s the right man for the job pulling your beautiful country left.

Seeing that she’s just given birth I somehow doubt your thesis

I have become more than a little paranoid since living such a physically restricted life for years. On the other hand, imo, the world has become a lot more insane during those years. Trudeau was in Toronto today to throw some rare Federal money at the city. Standing next to him like an fairy tale evil witch in sunglasses was Angela Merkel. The UN does not want Trudeau to lose the election in October.

Armstrong has said that the massive ‘migrant’ release into Europe was really at Merkel’s insistence. Tell me I can trust any Government not to steal my life savings through taxes and stealth inflation while providing fewer services. Commies hate the middle class.

2 College students accused of cheating Apple out of $900,000 using counterfeit iPhones

Federal prosecutors this week accused two college students of scamming Apple out of $900,000 by allegedly importing counterfeit iPhones and exchanging them for legitimate ones.

According to court documents, Yangyang Zhou and Quan Jiang are accused of importing thousands of counterfeit iPhones from China and filing warranty complaints with Apple, which then replaced the knock-off devices with real models, NPR reported Friday

Something fishy and maybe borderline illegal is going on in my state. Can a county force a company to invest in other companies?

A resolution approved unanimously by county commissioners Thursday, requires new cryptocurrency mining operations to offset their energy use by funding or building new renewable projects.

Not particularly. According to the city council they are using “too much” green energy forcing others to use standard energy sources. This is just more green fairy lunacy from a radical liberal enclave. Missoula is insane, they even got in trouble for rigging special olympics in their favor when they were the host city.

That nutjob town has also decided they will be 100% renewable energy by 2030. In a mining, petroleum, and hydro state. With no regard for the outrageous costs and the fact that they cannot conceivably afford to do so.

Merkel is now seen in Europe as giving the ‘kiss of death’ to whoever she tries to ‘help’. She’s yesterday’s news and has been good at raising the popularise Right in many Euro nations back into the Treasury benches.

The Aussies are having a mental meltdown over coal. In Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, where the socialist Left are in power. Even NSW new government was trying to have a bet each way on coal. My brother is managing two long wall mines at the moment. One for BHP and the other for a bunch of no nothing Indians pretending to run a coal mine. There are more Indian ‘administrators’ (200 of the bastards)on the payroll than there are miners. The brother of the Indian owner was given a corner office and he spends his days chatting on the phone to India and playing video games for $500K a year while the 5 Aussies professionals work their arses off running the whole shebang. My brother allowed , and even encouraged the Mines Dept. Inspectorate in a fortnight ago as the mine was getting dangerous due to a total lack of maintenance for over 2 years.

    SPIT!

Well, I joined a private range facility that has a 1000 yard range (actually, two of them). Went out there this morning for their orientation class.

Great facility, but it pretty much defines “middle of nowhere.” And that’s saying something in New Mexico. It’s 95 miles from where I live, the last 10 of which are dirt roads.

    Glad I have a 4 wheel drive…

I have no idea how anyone would find it without a GPS/smart phone. The last 10 miles is not just dirt roads, it’s unmarked dirt roads.

Apparently, Rio Rancho laid out streets going all the way out there, in anticipation of another few hundred thousand residents at some point in the future. But they’re just graded dirt roads at this point, with no street signs.

oh, man. Houston, we have a problem. It’s called C. Auris and it’s a fungus and nothing kills it and it’s everywhere.

In the United States, 587 cases of people having contracted C. auris have been reported, concentrated with 309 in New York, 104 in New Jersey and 144 in Illinois, according to the C.D.C.

The symptoms — fever, aches and fatigue — are seemingly ordinary, but when a person gets infected, particularly someone already unhealthy, such commonplace symptoms can be fatal.

The earliest known case in the United States involved a woman who arrived at a New York hospital on May 6, 2013, seeking care for respiratory failure. She was 61 and from the United Arab Emirates, and she died a week later, after testing positive for the fungus. At the time, the hospital hadn’t thought much of it, but three years later, it sent the case to the C.D.C. after reading the agency’s June 2016 advisory.

Wonder if it was some kind of land scam like they had here in AZ. Our church had some land donated to us from an estate years ago up by Holbrook, AZ. The land was a couple town lots and a 10 acre acreage lot. Looking at the location, an entire area of the desert was platted out with lots and roads, etc. Problem is Holbrook is a really small town and the water available is not potable. We finally wound up getting out of it for something like $1500 after having spent from some time in the late 70’s paying taxes on that land.
