Iron Dome, Timing, and Rockets

Any other country would already be at war for these rocket attacks. This is a flat out act of war. It is time for Israel to crack some skulls.

Muslim Brotherhood…mmmmhmmmm….Obama and Clinton’s boys…do read on:

Why isn’t the Iron Dome stopping these deadly rocket attacks?
Yaakov Amidror tells the ‘Post’ that if a rocket is shot at a location less than a few kilometers away, “we don’t have enough time to intercept it.”
By Maayan Jaffe-Hoffman

Israel has a critical gap in its protection system, said Yaakov Amidror, a former head of Military Intelligence’s Research Department and currently a senior fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategic Studies.

He told The Jerusalem Post that if a rocket is shot at a location less than a few kilometers away, “we don’t have enough time to intercept it.”
Amidror explained that there is nothing unique about these particular rockets – “they are within the capabilities of the Iron Dome.”

The challenge is that sometimes, such as in the case of the rocket that hit the vehicle near Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, “from the point of view of the system, this was an open area without people. We don’t intercept such rockets.”

Amidror said that the rockets currently being fired at Israel had either been smuggled into the Gaza Strip before the 2013 regime change in Egypt from the Muslim Brotherhood to General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, or are being produced on the Gaza side but using a manufacturing system that was built during that same time frame.

“Before the change of regime,” Amidror explained, “Egypt informally but practically allowed terrorist groups to bring in all the facilities needed to produce these rockets.”

He said that the rockets are paid for by Iran.

How can Islamic Jihad manage to launch so many rockets in one day?

According to Amidror, “It is very easy to launch rockets when you are launching them at close range and you don’t really need to be accurate.”

I can understand the technicalities of target acquisition and reaction timing to intercept but ALL systems suffer to one extent or another of MINIMUM engagement range. This is NOT a technical problem … it’s a local security and weapon siting problem.

A bit of aggressive local security patrolling would fix this in a matter of half a day!

    Sheesh!

** Statement from the National Security Advisor Ambassador John Bolton
    ————————————————————

In response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings, the United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the U.S. Central Command region to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force. The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces.

I don’t know what “U.S. Central Command region ” means. I hear CentCom and I think McDill in Florida. I don’t think that’s what’s being referred to here.
The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier left Norfolk on Apr 1, I don’t know where it or the strike force is now

They can handle anything there. It’s a 12,000 foot runway. They even have the special hangars to house B-2s

no. I remember when the peace accords were signed and morons like Bloomberg sent them $14 mil to get greenhouses up and they got trashed by their own people because peace isn’t profitable. Altho Wolflhenstein will tell you the problems with the greenhouse initiative was with the Israelis and the Karni crossing being closed. We all saw the greenhouses, remember. And the Israeli gov’t forcibly removed their own settlers from Gaza. That was gut wrenching.

No, this is on the Palis and their jihadi masters. All of it.

I saw a pic of Khudari’s car. I don’t think it was a strike – it didn’t look like there was any nearby collateral damage – I think it was a planted device. BBQ.

The USS Abe Strike Force is currently in the Med. Last seen doing a ‘quick R&R in Italy’ before getting its ‘serious boots on’. Should be transmitting the Suez over the next few days. After that it’ll go ‘dark’ and it’ll be referred to as within the 5th AOR and that’s it!

BREAKING: 2 U.S. Navy destroyers carried out ‘freedom of navigation’ operation in South China Sea on Monday – Reuters

Posted 6 hrs ago. If I correctly understand the timing, it was 3-4 hrs after the Abraham Lincoln announcement, so basically simultaneous.

Chinese investors and manufacturers woke up to tumbling stock markets on Monday morning as censorship by Beijing kept mainstream and social media in the dark over US President Donald Trump’s threat of renewed tariffs on Chinese goods.
The markets opened hours after Trump tweeted that the United States would increase tariffs on US$200 billion of goods from 10 to 25 per cent this Friday. The president complained that progress on trade talks with China had been moving “too slowly”.
Despite sharp market reactions, the three major official state media outlets – newspaper People’s Daily, broadcaster CCTV and Xinhua news agency – had by noon made no mention of the developments in Washington or market reaction to them.
Meanwhile, Caixin and Sina news – the biggest finance news outlets in the country – said the markets were “affected by information”, but did not elaborate.

The delegation is still on track to attend the trade talks, tho. Note there is no mention of US activity in the South China Sea either. As a matter of fact, looking at the international edition of the South China Morning Post, there isn’t one word about it

Xi doesn’t want his people to think he’s going into the talks with a weak hand.

    Yup .

The Chinese STILL can’t rationalise the fact that they are dealing with a breaker of the status quo.

Regimes like that of China and most other totalitarian regimes do NOT like surprises as their regimes are built on feet of sand and they know it.

Wishful thinking in China is the only reason why the Chinese marketplace hasn’t collapsed already. That and…. endemic stupidity and greed of corrupt the Western political classes.

China hates CHANGE but change is coming like the 1015 Express down the tunnel and nothing is stopping it now.

    🙂

The last thing China wants is ANYTHING that upsets the status quo, because China’s use of western greed has allowed China to be able to ride for free on the West’s fiscal coat tails.

There is a possibility that it may as Xi’s plans end up in the File #13 in the cornering China begins to suffer fiscal pain . My sources inside China say that the Chinese middle classes are getting VERY twitchy and worried that they will never be able to change horses with Xi and his Orwellian 1984 type civil controls in place. They worry about their financial gains going south and those who haven’t made provision to flee will be stuck with a terrible authoritarian Chinese regime that is unable to change and unable to be changed.

Oh, that’s not a possibility, that’s a guarantee. OBOR, just for starters, is going to do nothing but saddle them with a boatload of partners who can’t pay off the debt and China will end up controlling shitholes. Have fun.

    @ right_wing2:

They’re not getting more deranged, it’s just that the crazies have the stage to themselves now. The sane people have allowed themselves to be run over and have to adopt a posture that makes them seem at least acceptable to what they think is the new reality. Their danger is if the moderate voters give up and stop showing up at the polls.
