Australian Federal Elections due on the 18th. May. The Chinese had e been caught hacking into Australian Federal government IT systems AGAIN, trying to ‘mess with the count and results’ They are terrified that Australia will continue to stand against the Chinese Belt & Road; the artificial islands in the South China Sea; and the encroaching on freedom of speech in Australia through the control of the mass of Chinese students currently studying in Oz.

A large Washington suburb eyeing a $200,000 program to give taxpayer-funded legal aid to illegal immigrants said that deportations hurt it.

The chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in Virginia said the move was prompted by “the dynamic state of federal immigration policy.”

Our recycling has gone insane. We have 9 different containers that go into different bins in the trash room. We’ve been told to take old clothes to various charities and not to put them into garbage. Our condo board is Big Nanny & condo staff hand sort garbage so that we pay less for garbage collection. We were using black plastic bags for one category. Then we were told ‘no black plastic’. At all. All food (organic waste) must be washed from all types of containers. It is glorious to be having such a wealth of garbage COMRADES. The bedroom has 4 different baskets.

Canada is not even close to the top polluter nations of the world. I thought about getting a Siamese, but we’d need another container for litter.

The amount of recycling that ends up in landfills would boggle the minds of the greenies if they paid attention. Glass, steel, and aluminum were the biggest money makers. Paper used to be as well at one time. Now so much stuff gets “diverted” that’s not really capable of being recycled.

The dirty little secret is that many administrations dump ALL trash into a common heap after collecting neatly sorted types of trash. Not all obviously but a very sizeable group. This is often yet another ‘feel good’ smoke and mirror exercise to suck up to the green factions and t be seen as PC.

My guess that it is for the condo, but by the time it gets to government, any gain disappears. Because the Liberals have had control for several years and they are euro style socialists along with bloated public sector unions.

I napped in the middle of this post. It wasn’t a power nap. More like running out of gas.

How the hell did I miss this? Does anyone know if this came to pass?

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System, better known as CALPERS, has offered the job of chief investment officer to Ben Meng, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. Meng is an official of China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange, its foreign exchange regulator.

The State Administration of Foreign Exchange is the agency that oversees China’s foreign currency reserves and was central to its currency manipulation schemes, according to people familiar with the matter.

CALPERS has enormous sway over investment in the U.S., managing $360 billion in assets to fund the state’s retirement obligations to police officers, firefighters, and other public employees. In 2016, Fortune described CALPERS as “one of its most influential institutional investors” in the US.

“cross defaults”. sound familiar? They even steal our BAD ideas.

Then, earlier this week, a unit of China’s infamous conglomerate, HNA Group, defaulted on a loan it took out just seven months ago, the latest in a string of missed payments that threaten to complicate the embattled Chinese conglomerate’s restructuring. As Bloomberg reported, lenders to CWT International Ltd., a Hong Kong-listed unit of HNA which is still struggling to cope with its debt after embarking on more than $25 billion of asset sales since 2018 unwinding the biggest global acquisition binge in modern Chinese history, said they would seize most of the company’s assets – including CWT’s stake in a logistics unit, properties in the U.S. and U.K., and golf courses in China – unless CWT makes good on payments tied to a HK$1.4 billion ($179 million) loan taken out in September.

Fast forward to today when China’s default tsunami may be about to claim its biggest and most visible casualty yet.

As Bloomberg reports, a debt crisis at one of China’s most well-known private conglomerates entered a new stage Thursday, when the company said cross-default clauses had been triggered on dollar bonds worth $800 million.

The company in question, China Minsheng Investment Group, also dubbed “China’s JPMorgan” is one of the largest private investment conglomerates in China, and had 232 billion yuan in total debt and 310 billion yuan of assets as of June 2018, according to Shanghai Brilliance Credit Ratings.

    Also from zerohedge:

Chinese banks have increased their scrutiny of foreign-currency withdrawals and quietly reduced the amount of US dollars people are allowed to withdraw, tightening the country’s capital controls as the nearly year-long US-China trade war bites.

The issue was thrust into the spotlight on Friday when a viral video clip showed a bank cashier unable to answer a furious customer demanding to know why she was not allowed to withdraw US$200 from her dollar-denominated account, even though she was within her quota.

The client was so incensed by the refusal that she filmed the incident on her phone at the unidentified branch of China Merchants Bank (CMB).

She also asked why the bank insisted she could only withdraw her US dollar savings by converting into yuan, the Chinese currency. The cashier seemed caught off guard, unable to address the woman’s questions.

It later emerged the woman had been placed on a “watch list” of customers making frequent withdrawals.

So, either Chinese banks are running out of dollars – scaring account holders into attempting to exit the country’s financial system before a liquidity crisis; or Chinese officials are actively tightening capital controls – scaring the wealthy into various capital flight techniques; as the trade war tensions escalate.

    Prolly nothing…

The EU default position since the Treaty of Rome in 1970 has been to import cheap Arab energy and a low wage workforce from the Middle East, regardless of the effects on European culture and society generally. These elite secular socialists in Brussels see only money as their driver and believe that they can secularise the incoming Muslim hordes now entering Europe. They also think that they can insulate both themselves and their elitist families from the resulting mayhem, through authoritarian, fascistic socialist suppression of both immigrant and native populations. Their stated goal is the depopulation of Europe as AI and robotics arrives enmass and a secularised demographic breeds themselves to virtual extinction, leaving a small population of elitists and a few technicians to maintain their society. Such were the aims of the Treaty of Rome.

They are wrong on all counts!

Senate Democrats such as Sen. Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) have urged congressional committees to review the testimony of key witnesses such as Trump Jr. to determine if their answers matched the findings of the Mueller report.

A spokesperson for the committee said Wednesday: “We do not discuss the details of witness engagements with the committee.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), another staunch Trump ally, slammed the subpoena, tweeting Wednesday afternoon that Trump Jr. “has already spent dozens of hours testifying in front of congressional committees.”

New Docs Confirm Dossier Was All About Helping Hillary In The Election, And State Department Knew It

If ever there were an admission that taints the FBI’s secret warrant to surveil Donald Trump’s campaign, it sat buried for more than 2 1/2 years in the files of a high-ranking State Department official.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec’s written account of her Oct. 11, 2016, meeting with FBI informant Christopher Steele shows the Hillary Clinton campaign-funded British intelligence operative admitted that his research was political and facing an Election Day deadline.

And that confession occurred 10 days before the FBI used Steele’s now-discredited dossier to justify securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the campaign’s ties to Russia.

Steele’s client “is keen to see this information come to light prior to November 8,” the date of the 2016 election, Kavalec wrote in a typed summary of her meeting with Steele and Tatyana Duran, a colleague from Steele’s Orbis Security firm. The memos were unearthed a few days ago through open-records litigation by the conservative group Citizens United.

Chinese banks seem to be making up their own foreign capital rules as they go but in fact they are under Provincial government pressure to limit access to foreign capital because Provincial governments are literally running short and Central Government are telling them to forget about asking Central government to bale them out at the moment.

Chinese sources in the West are having problems as well accessing their capital held as foreign currency accounts inside China. The smart money spirited their hoards of foreign exchange out of China over a year ago, including many central and provincial government mandarines and businessmen.

This is an interesting piece on what happened to the Chinese trade talks. China reneged on EVERYTHING. Liu said ‘trust us’, Lighthizer said ‘fuck off’.

In each of the seven chapters of the draft trade deal, China had deleted its commitments to change laws to resolve core complaints that caused the United States to launch a trade war: Theft of U.S. intellectual property and trade secrets; forced technology transfers; competition policy; access to financial services; and currency manipulation.

Thank you for the larger context. Also for agreeing with me. I’m not sure exactly why, but that doesn’t happen too often. lol I was watching Trump in Panama City, FL where they still haven’t recovered from the hurricane. These rallies are the only place he is free to brag about his accomplishments, and the crowd goes wild because he pumps them up at the same time.

Presidential Candidate Cory Booker Proposes National License for All Gun Owners

Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker is proposing that all gun owners be licensed by the federal government, a process that would include an interview and safety training.

National licensing is one of more than a dozen specific proposals in a sweeping gun control agenda the U.S. senator from New Jersey released on Monday. It’s his second policy rollout in three weeks as he tries to break through the crowded Democratic primary field .

While current gun owners and first-time buyers would be subject to the federal license requirement, a transition period would allow current owners to come into compliance, according to the Booker campaign.

No such national gun license program currently exists. Thirteen states and the District of Columbia have enacted some form of licensing or permit rules before people can buy guns, according to the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

Constitutional issues aside, how the hell does he propose to interview and train 80 million current gun owners in any sort of reasonable length of time?

Orient Overseas International is out of Hong Kong. It rec’d a buyout bid from – drum roll – Cosco – and as far as I can tell that’s waiting on shareholder approval.

Except for the US the other places where Chinese foreign exchange were spirited to, were already topping out. A LOT of Chinese have lost the froth off the top of their investments already. Another example of Chinese money laundering in Canada.

“Grocery bags full of cash hauled into car dealerships. Gangsters paying for auto leases with proceeds of crime. A thriving grey market in which Chinese buyers pay people to purchase cars in Vancouver and claim millions of dollars in sales tax refunds.

Those are some of the scenes uncovered by the provincial government’s latest probe into dirty money in the Vancouver area, a city already under scrutiny for the role its casinos played over years as “laundromats” and the torrent of foreign cash that fuelled Canada’s most expensive real estate market.

“This report is disturbing confirmation that money laundering in British Columbia is a problem that goes beyond our casinos,” British Columbia Attorney General David Eby said Tuesday of the latest findings from a report by independent investigator Peter German.”

There’s a reason Vancouver has been called ‘Hongcouver’ since the Brits left Hong Kong. The mainland Chinese brought more people, Chicom money, and chain immigration where grandparents and children brought fast free health, education, welfare, and Old Age supplement income into the hands of people who never contributed a dime to Canada.

    See, cranky.

Definitely Rain. His knees were quickly getting crppled with lifting, twisting, and running in order to meet the split second timing requirements. He needed the health insurance. He got better everything at Wallmart. I’m pretty sure he does the work of two people though. The phrase ‘retail hell’ has fallen into a post. This, from a man who never complains.

OK. Now I remember that I love a lot more than 4 people. 🙂

I think Diana’s genes freshened things up a bit. Harry seems an utterly decent guy, but poorly educated.

But over the years, as a devoted reader of the Daily Mail, I’ve become familiar with faces of the aristocracy and upper classes and I’m afraid sometimes the inbreeding just screams.

There’s a reason Vancouver has been called ‘Hongcouver’ since the Brits left Hong Kong.

Even the architecture in Vancouver is ‘Hongkongish’. took me 2 days to figure out what the hell was going on. The place got invaded when the Brits abandoned Hong Kong.

Well, the dems chose the freakin’ IRS to administer the Health Care Law, I guess using the Post Office to become the nation’s banker makes perfect sense in their addled minds.

Our postal workers are radical Palestinian supporting Jew haters. The Leadership for sure, and lots of their cronies. The membership pretty much has to keep its views to itself in order not to lose their jobs or be harassed.

The Post Office does everything it can to stay relevant when they can be replaced by robots, drones, and especially email and e-commerce. So they collude with radical counterparts in Government to not go completely obsolete.

Well, I think things are getting dicey in the Arctic but I’m not sure how that’s designated, 7th AOR or what.

I suspect everybody’s going to be building more of those boat things.
