    repost from downstairs

The Dems are a mess. They’re calling each other child abusers and racists.

    Everyone hates this place

Just before the vote, Pocan, the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, inflamed tensions further when he called the Problem Solvers Caucus — a bipartisan group of moderates that pushed Pelosi to take up the Senate bill — the “Child Abuse Caucus.”

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/everyone-hates-this-place-border-bill-tears-apart-democratic-caucus/ar-AADwrkx?ocid=spartanntp

And AOC’s chief of staff called other Dems racist (he deleted the tweet, but, ya know, it’s the innernut, good luck with that)

David Ortiz shooting: Police arrest Victor Hugo Gomez, alleged mastermind of attack, in Dominican Republic

Ortiz was shot June 9 at the Dial Bar and Lounge in Santo Domingo and underwent two surgeries in the following 24 hours. The 43-year-old was transported to Boston by air ambulance a day after the shooting and has been recovering at Mass. General Hospital for the last few weeks.

Gomez is at least the 12th suspect arrested in the shooting, which was ruled a case of mistaken identity last week. Dominican attorney general Jean Alain Rodriguez said Ortiz was not the intended target of the attack and that the target was Gomez’s cousin, Sixto David Fernandez, who was sitting at the same table.

    https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2019/06/david-ortiz-shooting-police-arrest-victor-hugo-gomez-alleged-mastermind-of-attack.html

Can you even use the word “mastermind” when they shot the wrong guy and didn’t even kill him?

{{Bumr}} So, my BIL, in his late 60’s is flying home from a conference and talking with the woman beside him. Somehow the conversation turns to age, and he asks her how old she thinks he is. He has boyish looks and manner. She says “about 35.” He’s feeling pretty pleased with himself. When landing, a stewardess passes asking if anyone needs help getting off the plane. The woman next to BIL says “I do. I’m legally blind.” 🙂

I’m very seriously looking at buying a 2016 Nissan Frontier. It’s only got 38,000 miles on it, and has a price of $14,000.

The pluses for it, low miles, decent price, and it’s got some nice features like steering wheel controls for both crews and the radio, plus Bluetooth.

I wish it had a manual transmission, it’s got crank windows, and I need to put some kind of bedliner in it since the former owner must have had some kind of painting business- there’s paint all over the inside of the bed. I’d also want to get some kind of locking tonneau cover.

Cancer ride update: I hit my 125 miles, and raised over $200. In total, over 80,000 riders have ridden 2,600,000 miles and raised almost $8 million.

China blew it and they know they blew it. They spent 8 years with a putz of a POTUS and didn’t know an honest broker when he showed up.

China tries to bridge gap in knowledge about the US following criticism that misreading of Donald Trump helped trigger trade war

“It proved that our world outlook had important gaps, which made us unprepared for the increasing trend towards selective ‘decoupling’ [with China],” Shi said.

    so far, so good………

“The US has been long banned the export of advanced technology to China, including aerospace, aviation and advanced materials,” Jiang said, adding that if China was allowed to buy this technology it would help cut the trade deficit between the two sides – one of Trump’s main grievances.

    nope, start over.

Is Chinese diplomacy an oxymoron? It seems like when they are not stealing, they are lying. Declaring yourself leader for life is an Idi Amin move. How can you make deals when China moves the goalposts on you? They should look to their own problems of lack of accountability and gross cronyism. Additionally, Donald Trump is not the deep state. Which America are they going to study?

The U.S. will only deal in dollars. Not rubles, yen, etc. They know paying the U.S. for goods in dollars is a problem since they have dumped the majority of their U.S. Treasuries. They are not bargaining in good faith and Trump knows it. HOWEVER, Trump placing sanctions on so many countries seems like there’s no endgame in diplomatic terms. These G20 meetings are a gong show. China needs food. Shutting off Canada’s soy beans, canola oil, hogs, and possibly meat isn’t smart. They do know that Canada’s ‘leadership’ is weak, stupid, and rude. China can do this to Canada, but it has to respect Trump’s leadership. They can see the Democrats have no good candidates.

You pretty much always have to do that with online ammo purchases because of the hazmat fee that’s part of the shipping cost.

I bought a case (10 boxes of 20) of Federal Gold Medal Match .308 from Midway recently because it was the only way it made sense, cost-wise. The shipping was slightly less than the sales tax would have been if I’d gotten it at Cabela’s or Sportsman’s Warehouse locally, but it was priced about $2 a box less.

On a side note, it’s amazing how small of a box $250 worth of ammo comes in…

Cruise the lower atmosphere ar Mach 5.14 and 100,000 ‘ and go London to Sydney in 4 1/2 hours, or if you wish, just raise the nose and push the power forward and use onboard oxidiser to reach orbit at Mach 25.

Great for a fighter of strategic bomber that has the options of choosing either the upper atmosphere or space. Also if travelling hypotonic and 100,000’ and you get fired upon then just open up the space option and accelerate to Mach 25 and leave the AA missile in your dust.

In civilian mode you get current airliner fuel economics with NO Pollution except water vapour and Mach 5.14

    In military mode see above.

In space launch mode get 8 tonnes into orbit with a true reusable space system that has the economics and sortie rate of a B-787 that lands and takes off from a normal runway !

Ocasio-Cortez: Ivanka Trump Not ‘A Qualified Diplomat,’ Criticizes Her Involvement At G-20
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is apparently not happy that first daughter Ivanka Trump accompanied her father on his trip to the G-20 summit.

The Democrat from New York commented on Twitter late Saturday after a BBC reporter posted a video showing Ivanka Trump alongside her father in a G-20 discussion that included French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other leaders.

“It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter. “It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on. The US needs our President working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.”

Well, first off, I believe that while America elected Obama once, it was Democrat election fraud that got him reelected. That said, I am not suggesting that America is going to man up any time soon to deal with the Marxist Socialists.

My personal opinion is, that if the Marxist Socialists fail to conquer America, it will only be because of their narcissistic arrogance. It is quiet possible that they over played their hand and tried to rush in for the kill too soon.

A full quarter of generations y and z have gorged themselves on the greed and envy that the Marxist Socialists sold them. Undoing that brainwashing is going to be a herculean task.

Having once been a California licensed Security professional I can tell you that what I saw, was strictly speaking, professional protocol. Those North Korean security guys never made anything resembling a serious attempt to prevent the American press from entering.

What they were doing was attempting to control the flow and number of individuals entering. Its a very standard tactic whenever a high visibility/target individual interacts with the general public.

Keep in mind, their job is Un’s security, not Trump’s. They would be criminally derelict in their duties if they simply took the Secret Services word that all of the American Journalists had been vetted and were not assassins.

At the very worst, what they are guilty of, is attempting to manipulate a media propaganda moment by delaying the American press thus giving the North or possibly even the South Korean press a couple of minute advantage in publication terms.

I was thinking way back to “A Clockwork Orange” yesterday, and came to the same conclusion you are talking about. It’s the natural evolution to an indifference to human life. Advanced societies have already accepted large pockets of mayhem, especially in Europe. The self absorbed entitlement that exists among all social classes is just a less violent version of the same thing. The police are always protecting the wrong people. The news is opposite talk. People are regularly coming unglued both domestically and randomly. Let blacks get away with violence towards whites and you encourage mob rule.

The goal of the trip, according to O’Rourke’s campaign, is to meet with “individuals and families directly impacted by Donald Trump’s cruel and inhumane policies” and “shed light on the desperate circumstances those who are seeking asylum and refuge are fleeing, and the conditions these families and individuals are forced to endure when they’ve been turned away from our borders.”

O’Rourke is supposed to meet with illegal aliens, primarily from the Northern Triangle countries of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, CNN reported.

I have no clue how that kind of thing is managed, especially in an environment like the Korean DMZ, so I will stipulate your point.

The job of security, is to control access. To know who is where, and what they are doing. The tighter security is, the more the movements of individuals are restricted. You prevent bad things from happening, by preventing bad people from gaining access to sensitive area’s or specific individuals.

You prevent bad people from gaining access by knowing who they are and what they are doing and restricting their ability to move towards those sensitive area’s or individuals.

From a security standpoint any unknown individual is a suspected bad person. If you do not know them, you do not know what their intentions are. If you do not know what their intentions are, you do not allow them access.

The higher the security area, the more you restrict access to that area and the closer you monitor those granted any access to that area. And that most assuredly does include the use of deadly force in maintaining extremely high security restricted area’s.

The Korean DMZ is one of the highest security area’s on earth.

ROTFLMAO… a) Stephanie literally threw out the stereo-typical female “Hip”. b) the North Korean security guys were just doing their jobs. There was no “all out brawl” and no bruises.

That said, it was glorious to watch, especially the expression on the face of the North Korean Security official on the receiving end of Stephanie’s “Hip” move.

This reality is better than all of the nominal ‘fake news’ of bruises and such.

    You go girl!

Extreme loss of face by the NoKo security official. Poor bastard is probably at best the butt of his peers jokes about getting shoved aside by a ‘mere female’ and at worst walking guard on the graveyard shift at some detention centre up country.

I head out on Saturday to pick up the new car. Waiting on an estimate for a spray on bed liner and maybe a better cover. That might have to wait. Along with other things I want to do.

good point! Culturally, that has to jar some of their premises, I would think, like – American woman butt checks NK security, what might POTUS do? They DO respect force, I believe.

    For the record:
Joe, you are not the son of a Welsh coal miner.

Liz, every time you put ‘American Indian’ on an application, you signed your name to a false statement.

Corey, being a U.S. Senator is not actually similar to being a Roman slave.

    Beto, you are not Hispanic.

Kamala, the only time there was any African American in you was while you were negotiating a job offer with Willie Brown.

    (yeah, stole that one, too)

    @ rain of lead:

ah, but the day is young! Bernie is now raising money off a real, honest-to-god Trump attack video that happened at a rally. You may recall that it was a Bernie Bro who actually did attempt to assassinate some Republican Congressmen at a baseball practice.

    Want to really scare Trump?
