A Recession is 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth.
A Recession is not a dip in the Stock Market’s value. A Recession is independent of stock market value as it is a measure of GDP output.
Esoteric, obscure, and exotic economic indicators are just that. They are that because they are fairly useless in real economic data sets and have no real bearing in reality. They are ‘click-bait’ and are meant to try to poison the well.
Economic numbers, such as debt, must either be in % of GDP or for inflation adjusted dollars over time so that there is context. Without context, these numbers are useless.
Keep these in mind as we watch the Wall Street versus Main Street battle heat up.
