Anyway, I never, ever had a problem with them (digital) inside or out, rain snow or frogs. But my point was ‘footage’ is a term used in old school movie making – it implies the length of the film on a reel in inches and feet. No such thing when you’re talking about ‘digital’ (0s and 1s). And more to the point, the old school security cameras sent the image back to a VHS / Betamax type tape but I guess ‘footage’ was used when talking about them also (I honestly can’t remember).
Of course they used those type camera/tape machines decades ago because they were the latest tech. But in 2019 at a high security lock up ?
What I started to add last night but deleted because it got away from my point is that the new technology has not come equipped with new terms. Kind of like we used to say ‘the 60s’, ‘the 70s’ etc, we were stuck when the calendar turned over to the ’00s. We stumbled around with ‘aught’ and ‘O O’s etc. Us old folk still think in terms of the old Kodak terms such as film, pictures etc. Maybe the whippersnappers have come up with new ?
Its very possible they were using digital but didn’t know how to explain what happened without using old tech terms.

Just back from a week in the snows. Skiing an active volcano (Mt Ruepehu) with it’s own warm to hot crater lake. It’s currently in one of its HOT phases. We used to go skiing up top on sunny calm days and folks would go skinny dipping in the hot water at 8,000 feet. The cyberwars, using the Navy to cut off potential geopolitical choke points, Economic wars, and billions in money laundering are some of the undeclared wars being waged against the U.S.

Mrs AI was reading the paper whilst reclining in the hot tub. She’d only half filled it and the multiple vents were only covered by about 4″ of water. Miggens decided to play around with the hot tub controls as I passed by. Must have hit the ‘volcanic setting’. Blew the water out of the tub and drenched Mrs. AI’s newspaper and glasses!
Herself was NOT amused!

The upgraded version of the scam is to ‘sell ‘ the physical gold and then put the fear of god into the purchaser and convince them to just leave it in the trader’s vault …. where it will be safe , until you want to collect it.
A person I knew ‘sold’ the same pile of gold bars SEVEN TIMES …. too seven different suckers. He then decamped to live in the Gold Coast … the irony … in Queensland. As far as I understand it he was never brought to trial because his customers were even bigger scammers than he was and they didn’t want any publicity.
Still I am guessing that he never sleeps soundly at night and is always looking over his shoulder.
