Robert Hunter, Lyricist for the Grateful Dead, passed this week. It’s a sad day here.
One can read his lyrics in the book ‘A Box of Rain’ as poetry.
From the article:
Dappled with David Grisman’s sunny mandolin, “Ripple” came together during the Festival Express tour of summer 1970 and served as centerpiece of “American Beauty,” the second album of cosmic Americana the Dead delivered that year. “Ripple” is a song about writing a song, and it includes references to birth and death and the path leading from the former to the latter. Key lyric: “Let it be known there is a fountain / That was not made by the hands of man,” which Hunter characterized to Rolling Stone in 2015 as “pretty much my favorite line I ever wrote,” adding: “And I believe it, you know?”
Ripple
Grateful Dead
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It’s a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they’re better left unsung
I don’t know, don’t really care
Let there be songs to fill the air
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty
If your cup is full may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men
There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand then who’s to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home

Well, isn’t THIS convenient – Sean Davis reporting this on Twitter:
BREAKING: The intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblower complaints contain only direct, first-hand knowledge of wrongdoing allegations.
A new version of the complaint form allowing hearsay was secretly revised last month.
When asked when the parameters were changed in relation to this complaint, intell community refused to answer. Schiffty’s fingerprints are all over this.
I am going to need to revise my column. This reeks to high heaven of collusion on the part of Congress and the intel community.

Touche!
@ The Barbarian:
This is absurd.
Gut Intel and fed law enforcement and start over.
The pensions away too.
@ coldwarrior:
This is why Schiffty held on to that intel and reframed the complaint even though they got it in August. They had to have time to change the rules so that second-hand information would qualify as a whistleblower and they can hide this dirtbag’s identity.
Also, you will never ever convince me that Schiffty intended that fairy tale he spun about the contents of the phone call were intended as “parody”. He intended people tuning in to believe that this garbage was the phone call. I am, however, pissed as hell that not ONE Republican interrupted this dirtbag to call him out of it, House “Rules” be damned. Get it on the damned record.
The Barbarian wrote:
I would really like to know how that got done and who did it.
eaglesoars wrote:
to be clear – how many intel agencies are there? Was this done at the DNI level to cover ALL of them? Because Coates was DNI and Susan Gordon was his 2nd and she was apparently the source for this
More from Sean Davis
I talked to a DNI official and asked when these revisions were made and why. The official said the intelligence community would not comment on anything to do with the anti-Trump whistleblower.
I never mentioned or asked about the anti-Trump whistleblower.

I’ve been working out of Uniontown. Lots of 80’s nostalgia like that there!
The 24 yo mechanic on our crew has a maroon 86 Monte Carlo SS/ t-top for a daily driver!
We’ll be working out of Bradford for a small well pad the next two-three weeks. Haven’t had work up there for a while. We leave at 3am.
Been doing a lot of fracking and vaping. The headlines haven’t been kind!
@ Deplorable Bumr50:
Bradford…man, that’s out there.
@ Deplorable Bumr50:
An 86 Monte SS, WITH T TOPS!!!
YES!!!
@ coldwarrior:
They say the pad is an hour and forty minutes from Bradford. That’s just the closest place with a hotel. I’m thinking that if it’s not IN the National Forest it’s just on the outskirt.
@ Deplorable Bumr50:
That is remote.
eaglesoars wrote:
Now watch them order the whistleblower(s) to testify before Congress. Under oath.

I was born there. Are they getting any money out of this yet? Where are you staying?
Our yard is just north of Uniontown in an old Army tank facility. The address is Lemont Furnace. Kind of between Utown and Connellsville.
When I’m in the shop I stay at a ratty Ramada, which used to be a Holiday Inn, up on the north end of Main Street. Walmart, the mall , and a bunch of chain restaurants up there.
@ eaglesoars:
They’re giving subpoenas to Pompeo, that asshat Ambassador to the Ukraine Trump recalled, and Giuliani. Man, they are SOOO going to be sorry. You guys are not an official impeachment committee. Rudi is the President’t personal lawyer, you dum bulbs. ANYTHING Trump told him is covered by privilege.
Deplorable Bumr50 wrote:
I know where it is.

That idiot Jerry Rivers was bitching that Trump didn’t send Rudy to Ukraine as ‘special envoy’ instead of as his personal lawyer. D’uh.
And on that note – Volker has just resigned as U.S. Special Envoy to the Ukraine.
Question is – is he resigning because he’s about to be revealed as part of the Deep State asshats trying to frame Trump? I don’t know much about him.

I assume they think they’re safe under some sort of ‘qualified immunity’ law and they may well be.
That has to change. If you violate your oath (upholding the laws) you should be legally liable for the consequences. Accessory to rape of a minor, etc.
