The so-called “wind event” in Northern California never really materialized outside the norm for this time of year. 35 mph gusts are not unusual; indeed, I’ve seen several days of upper 90 temps and wind gusts of 50 where I live. Meanshile, NO unusual wind in the critical period in Solano County -actually it was completely calm. So why the crazy shutoffs? They started cutting power, as a matter of fact, 18 hours in advance of the wind event’s anticipated start. WHY?

All you have to do is look at a calendar. The dreadful fires that devoured Napa and Sonoma were two years ago TODAY. So of course this will be mentioned in the news – with plenty of where are they now stories. Weather predicts high winds. Perfect time to stage a shutdown. Sue us into bankruptcy? Eat it, California. Here’s your punishment; and we’ll be doing this any damn time we feel like it.

All this done with the sanction of Gavin Newsom and the Public Utilities Commission. Based in Sacramento. Who tell us it’s a good thing PG&E is doing. What they don’t tell you is that Sacramento is not served by PG&E – it’s served by SMUD – the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District. They were never going to be inconvenienced by the shutdown.

    @ The Barbarian:

It’s really interesting to see how different regions handle the same green agenda while trying to hide the rising costs of keeping up high standards. Marty Armstrong says that if you put the government in charge of a desert they would run out of sand.

    @lobo. Thanks for fresh thread.

California Democrats have taken us from the state where everything you touch turns to gold to everything you touch turns to s**t.

The normal Santa Ana winds are 40 mph and PG&E can only go by what the meteorologists tell them. Sue them into bankruptcy and there is no way they’re going to take the risk of more liability.

But my favorite part of all this is – the electric car people. AHAHAHAHAHA!! Learn to pedal a bike, Sparky (note: ‘Sparky’ is on the license plate of the electric car down the street. I thought it was very cute).

  7. 8 | October 10, 2019 5:40 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

Gavin Newsom went on Twitter yesterday proclaiming the great use of electric cars by California trying to put a slam on President Trump. Needless to say…it didn’t end well for him.

Did you see the story that QuidProJoe Biden took $900K from Ukraine to lobby on their behalf? Did he register his work on behalf of a foreign entity? Because that looks REALLY suspicious – especially since I seem to recall Paul Manafort was charged for that same thing?

  8. eaglesoars
    9 | October 10, 2019 6:10 pm

    @ The Barbarian:

I saw that he got the $900k, I didn’t see for what. Yeah, that’s a FARA violation. Also, registered lobbyists have to file quarterly lobbying reports, one for each client. I know this because Hubby is one. They’re filed with the Senate and the House and failure to file is like a $10K fine.

I didn’t see the Newsom remark about electric cars. I see gas is $4/gal in Cali now, but it’s moot as there’s no elect to pump the stuff.

This isn’t on Ryan. This is the same polling company they’ve used for a long time, Beacon (Dem) and Shawn (Rep).

Fox always puts the polling org at the bottom of their polls so when you see people spouting off on twitter about it, you can tell if they’ve actually read the fine print. Morons.

    And we come full circle:

Joe Biden Identified As Democrat The Whistleblower Was Associated With

The 2020 Democratic candidate with whom the CIA whistleblower had a “professional” tie is Joe Biden, according to intelligence officers and former White House officials.

Lawyers for the whistleblower said he had worked only “in the executive branch.” The Washington Examiner has established that he is a career CIA analyst who was detailed to the National Security Council at the White House and has since left. On Sept. 26, the New York Times reported that he was a CIA officer. On Oct. 4, the newspaper added that he “was detailed to the National Security Council at one point.”

Michael Atkinson, the Intelligence Community’s inspector general, told members of Congress that the whistleblower had a “professional tie” to a 2020 Democratic candidate. He had written earlier that while the whistleblower’s complaint was credible, he had shown “some indicia of an arguable political bias … in favor of a rival political candidate.”

A retired CIA officer told the Washington Examiner, “From everything we know about the whistleblower and his work in the executive branch then, there is absolutely no doubt he would have been working with Biden when he was vice president.”

I’m trying to understand how there could be grounds for impeachment when Ukrainian President Zelensky didn’t feel pressured, when he didn’t even know about the delay in aid and when Trump was acting under law requiring corruption be investigated.

Was it that Slow Joe’s name was mentioned? Are we supposed to believe that if Trump hadn’t mentioned Biden’s name that the left wouldn’t have claimed any request for investigation of corruption was just a “dog whistle” for Biden?
