The UK has a general election Thursday. This should be very interesting.

    AHAHAHAHAHA!!

Tatiana McGrath, the twitter phenom, has pulled of a MAJOR hoax on UK publishers.

Who is Liam Evans? Well, he’s clearly an authoritarian, censorious monster. But he’s also clearly not real. Doyle asks why The Independent would run such clearly fabricated nonsense and points to the fact that a number of prominent comedians complained to the publication. Doyle asks, “What is happening to our media? Why is a respected national newspaper publishing drivel by a writer that no one has ever heard of just because it’s pushing a woke agenda? What does that tell us? And the other question they should have been asking is why is the left publishing these kinds of censorial articles that used to grace the pages of the right-wing tabloids? And if it takes a hoaxer to provoke a little self-reflection, then surely that’s a good thing.”

“A major publication is happy to publish any old nonsense so long as it’s sufficiently woke. Social justice ideology has infected our mainstream media,” Andrew Doyle explains in a new video lecture recorded at the National Liberal Club in London on 13th October 2019.

The 25-minute video is a brilliant explainer on how satire and hoaxing work in 2019. With major platforms and publications getting woker by the minute, it’s imperative that people who haven’t succumbed to the woke moral panic to call out the many hypocrisies and incoherencies of social justice. For the few who don’t know, Andrew Doyle is the genius behind the internet’s greatest troll, Titania McGrath.

In 2019, feelings outweigh facts at every turn. And when op-eds read like fabricated drivel, it’s no wonder that the public has a hard time discerning truth from fiction. It takes comedians and satirists to point out just how insane this whole thing is. Doyle points out that “the woke are the establishment” and he couldn’t be more right. Those who are in the powerful cultural positions, in academia, media, arts, entertainment, and most importantly, advertising, are the ones with the batons and horses to push these ideas onto the public.

This is the kind of influence that matters, not politicians and legislators, but those who control the media. And they are being fooled by their own unwillingness to address their woke bias. It is this bias that veers us into the realm of complete absurdity, where people hate themselves for their skin colour, language is colonialism, words are violence, and disagreement is fascism.

“The mainstreaming of social justice is also evident in the fact that even respected, national newspapers don’t seem to understand the basic definitions of phrases like fascist, alt-right, and even far-right,” Doyle remarks. “They no longer know what these words mean, and they are just bandying them about promiscuously, which is really damaging. Now if you claim the right to define the word Nazi as just anyone who disagrees with you politically, then, of course, you can also claim that there is an epidemic of Nazism. But in doing so you are also inadvertently, acting in the interests of the worst kinds of people.”

Doyle notes that the reframing of the conversation to mark those who disagree with the mainstream social justice movement as alt-right Nazi fascists, cedes the argument in favour of free speech to those very people you are trying to silence.

The last five minutes of the speech is where Doyle truly shines. He points to three specific pieces published by major platforms. “In August of last year, The New York Times ran an anonymous letter. It was called ‘How Can I Cure My White Guilt?’ It was just signed ‘Whitey,’ and it was a person who described themselves as being riddled with shame for being white. Now the whole thing was obviously ridiculous, and obviously a hoax. So, Titania claimed that she had written it. And she provided screenshots, of the letter, on her hard drive, with the date, just to prove that she was the author.”

Doyle claims that the authorship doesn’t really matter. Maybe he wrote it, invoking the spirit of Titania, maybe he didn’t. The point is that “a major publication is happy to publish any old nonsense so long as it is sufficiently woke. The social justice ideology has infected our mainstream media. And irreparably degraded its standards.”

Finally, Doyle mentions the crown jewel of hoax columns—a breathless op-ed published by The Independent. “In February of this year, Liam Evans wrote a piece for The Independent, and he cited a number of extremely talented comedians, people like Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervais, Finn Taylor, and he said that their jokes about sensitive topics amounted to hate speech. He said that these kind of jokes ‘should be subject to investigation. It simply isn’t good enough for comedians to cry free speech after every hateful joke, as if the laws that govern the rest of us don’t apply to them.’”

And if it takes a hoaxer to provoke a little self-reflection, then surely that’s a good thing.”

“Again, I do not want to speculate as to the authorship of that article,” Doyle says. “But I will point out one thing which I do find just a little bit curious… You might be interested to note that if you take every fourth letter of every sentence, it actually spells out the phrase, ‘Titania McGrath wrote this, you gullible hacks.’

    THIS IS A ROOKIE MISTAKE

Sometimes though even developers that should know better get it wrong, and this week has brought an unfortunate example for the enterprise wing of the hardware giant HP. Their manufacturer has notified them that certain models of solid-state disk drives supplied in enterprise storage systems contain an unfortunate bug, in which they stop working after 32,768 hours of uptime. That’s a familiar number to anyone working with base-2 numbers and hints at a 16-bit signed integer in use to log the hours of uptime. When it rolls over the value will then be negative and, rather than the drive believing itself to be in a renewed flush of youth, it will instead stop working.

    https://hackaday.com/2019/12/10/patch-or-your-solid-state-drives-roll-over-and-die/

This should have been caught in the first code walk thru. Fire everybody.

Everyone be careful. I haven’t seen anything about it online yet but something is seriously wrong with last nights Windows update. It caused my brothers computer to only boot to BIOS whenever the USB hub is plugged in, and on my computer it disabled my ethernet until I downloaded a BIOS update. If you have any issues with the Windows update make sure you check to see if there is a new BIOS update available for your system it may fix the issues. In my brothers case there isn’t a fix yet.

BTW, I seem to recall Democrats in 2018 doing everything they could to imply to voters that impeachment was off the table. Mad Auntie Maxie-Pad and Schiffty McSchift were told to cool it. MSM was told to cool it. Now Nutty Nan is telling us this is 22 months in the process? GOP take note and use in sound bites.

Support for any iteration eventually fades. I don’t think Microsoft supports XP anymore. That’s a company’s decision about how to deploy finite resources and is a business decision. In all cases, you can still use the product.

This HP hard drive issue is being played in some quarters as planned, but it’s a very good way to lose customers. If your customer is rolling out a new product, and your planned hardware failure crashes the rollout, your market share is going to shrink rapidly. Also, a 3 year life span for this type of hardware is way too short. Companies are far too busy to fool with hardware swap outs every three years.

Man, someone REALLY needs to investigate Adam Schiff. No I mean REALLY. First we have him going after Devin Nunes on an ethics violation because Nunes had the goods on the FISA warrant. Except everything Nunes said turned out to be TRUE. THEN claiming there is uncontroverted proof of Russian collusion. Mueller says “nope” – Well, in actuality it’s Weissman who couldn’t find any, despite malicious prosecutions to try to pry some perjury out of people.

Next, a weaselblower he now claims NOT to know and a summary of a phone call in Committee that bore no resemblance to the actual transcript. Complete denial of due process to the President in an inquiry with no actual criminal elements and hearsay witnesses only, and NO witnesses for the other side, despite a request to call same. An accuser who remains nameless.

Now, it appears that Schiffty has completely lied in his report about the phone records, that numbers he claims are from the OMB or some other agency are not their numbers at all. He claims Giuliani colluded with OMB to keep monies away from Ukraine and that there is a record of his calls. OMB says they’ve never spoken to Giuliani.

This man is a real disgrace. I hope the GOP takes the House back and it’s first order of business is to censure this little weasel, if they can’t remove him completely.

    LABOUR FEAR ELECTION WIPE OUT

The bitter civil war over Labour’s future broke out on live TV in the early hours of this morning.

The party’s former Home Secretary Alan Johnson accused the head of the Corbyn-backing Momentum campaign Jon Lansman of betraying Labour’s traditional working class voter base.

Eye-balling Mr Lansman on ITV, Mr Johnson fumed: “I don’t live in London. I live in Yorkshire. I live in a working class community.

“And I’ve known Jon for many years, Jon’s been around from the Bennite days. And I’m afraid the working classes have always been a big disappointment for Jon and his cult.

“Corbyn was a disaster on the doorstep. Everyone knew that he couldn’t lead the working class out of a paper bag.

“Now Jon’s developed this Momentum group, this party within a party, aiming to keep the purity, the culture of betrayal goes on.

“You’ll hear it now more and more over the next couple of days as this little cults get their act together. I want them out of the party. I want Momentum gone, go back to your student politics and your little left wing.”

Britain needs its own Mueller report on Russian ‘interference’

by Glenn R Simpson and Peter Fritsch

by WHO?? I kid you not.

The British political system has become thoroughly compromised by Russian influence. It’s high time its institutions – including the media – woke up to that fact. In 2016, both the United Kingdom and the United States were the targets of Russian efforts to swing their votes. The aim was to weaken the alliances that had constrained Vladimir Putin’s ambitions, such as the European Union and Nato.

Here is our friend Viv’s excellent rundown of the results from across the Pond. I find this blurb the most delightful, as it indicates the Left is sharpening the knives to eat its own.

Caroline Flint (Lab) who lost her seat, blamed Corbyn for the Labour loss, saying that ‘the Corbyn project is not a project to win us elections. Moderate MPs put the pursuit of Remain at the expense of our heartland voters.’ Labour’s Momentum spokesperson meanwhile maintained that the election was sadly about Brexit and that their socialist policies played no part in their defeat … yes, really.

So No Nads convened the House Judiciary Committee for 10 minutes to take a vote that could have been taken last night. Wow. Guess Fat Jerry wanted to be on TV.

Assuming the impeachment gets out of the House and to the Senate (and the only bipartisan element of it will be the Democrat votes against), the real question is should the Senate dismiss it out of hand or hold a full-blown trial?

Frankly, I favor the latter. I want all those witnesses that No Nads and Schiffty held back in their Kangaroo Courts to be able to testify. And I want Schiffty, his staff, the weaselblower, Hunter Biden and JOE Biden subjected to scrutiny. I want a national skewering of these assholes.
