Merry Orthodox Christmas 2020! and Open

It’s Orthodox Christmas today…the day the 3 Magi showed up at the manger and started all of this gift-giving tradition.

and

I’m sure you didn’t miss this whilst Trump was twisting the Dems into backing Iran over America:

85% of Aussie wildfires are from arson . Sounds like terrorism to me…”the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.” This was terrorism by the environmentalists.

    Merry Christmas!

Yeah, well, be careful what you wish for.

Just as another example of how despicable the Left is – a man and his 9 yr old daughter in S. Carolina were killed in a hunting accident (mistaken for deer). This Seattle woman tweeted out:

“1.5 less MAGAbilly’s in the world. At least they died supporting their beloved 2nd amendment.”

MAGAbilly – they were from the South so of course…

    Must be Trump supporters

the ‘.5’ is because a 9 yr old girl is only half human, I guess

and last but not least GUNS

She and her husband own a restaurant. Be a shame if something happened to it. While they were in it.

I’m done. No quarter, no mercy.

    @ Gateway Pundit
My family has been known to have some pretty rowdy Irish wakes/funerals but this is a whole other dimension.
At a funeral for SolemanI at least forty mourners were trampled to death by a stampede.
Does this mean no scrambled eggs after?

  5. 5 | January 7, 2020 9:53 am

    @ RIX:

Apparently he doesn’t understand that Trump can also claim Executive Privilege regarding any discussions Bolton had in the White House and therefore they can subpoena all they want – White House can still challenge. What will be interesting is if the White House DOESN’T challenge the subpoena. It means that they know what Bolton wants to say and have their rebuttals all lined up.

Bolton must be hoping for a career gig on cable. Because after this, he’s done. Pulling this crap is costing him all of the support he had from conservatives like Hannity, Limbaugh and Levin, who were his biggest boosters.

    @ The Barbarian:

Bolton lost me when I saw his wife. Somebody ran video of people arriving for a state dinner at the Trump WH. In walks Bolton with his wife.

She looks just like him. W/O the mustache (I think). Tiny, skinny, same haircut, face like sour milk, and she hurried across the hallway in a fury as tho she was chasing Satan outta her kitchen. She makes Nellie Ohr look positively charming.

    yuck

Thanks for that explanation. So this is just a stunt.
I always found Bolton to be some kind of Dr Strangelove weirdo.
He is always willing to fight to the last drop of somebody else’s blood.
You are right he jumped the shark here. Even if CNN or MSNBC pick him up he will be treated like the bearded lady in a freak show.

  8. 8 | January 7, 2020 10:42 am

    @ RIX:

I’d also be VERY wary of any witness who is literally BEGGING to be served with a subpoena. This means they don’t have “testimony” – they have an agenda. It rarely ends well.

The average person is not enthusiastic about being put under oath. Hell, I get the sweats when I get sworn in as a juror. It’s a serious deal.

You know what? That bit about Suleimani’s daughter being a U.S. citizen? It may very well be true. Thanks to Obama

The Obama administration granted citizenship to 2,500 Iranians, including family members of government officials, while negotiating the Iran nuclear deal, a senior cleric and member of parliament has claimed.

Hojjat al-Islam Mojtaba Zolnour, who is chairman of Iran’s parliamentary nuclear committee and a member of its national security and foreign affairs committee, made the allegations during an interview with the country’s Etemad newspaper, cited by the country’s Fars News agency.

He claimed it was done as a favor to senior Iranian officials linked to President Hassan Rouhani, and he alleged the move sparked a competition among Iranian officials over whose children would benefit from the scheme.

    @ eaglesoars:

One of my favorite co-workers is here today. Conservative, total Trump supporter. He and I were schmoozing over coffee and he said something interesting. He said he always believed that “kidnapping” of the American sailors was completely staged by Obama and Iran as a means of Obama having a pretense of funneling money to Iran. After all, if, as they like to maintain, that the money sent in the dead of night to Iran was THEIR money, why the need for secrecy? Foreign currency? Unmarked plane? There was no COURT order telling the U.S. to return the money, which would have let the U.S. Banks off the hook. His whole dinner theater “it wasn’t ransom” was nothing more than bad acting.

  14. eaglesoars
    14 | January 7, 2020 1:52 pm

    @ The Barbarian:

It makes sense. Not having a military background, I’ve always wondered about how that went down. Did the Navy get orders not to fight or was it simply an ‘on the ground’ command decision? But by that point the Navy was such a mess, I figured there really was no way to tell. That service is almost completely compromised by PC and when you look at who/what is getting the promotions it’s been a sickening theater of the absurd.

  15. 15 | January 7, 2020 2:14 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

A friend of mine who WAS in the military said he found that a ridiculous scenario. Giving it more thought, Obama probably hand-picked the ship to be “captured”. And that it immediately managed to veer off course after departure, and developed mechanical failure. Oh, and Iran apparently felt safe enough in the circumstances to violate international waters.

I always compare this with the capturing of the Pueblo by North Korea in international waters. In the case of the Pueblo, the captain was lucky to escape court-martial for surrendering his ship. He was reviled nationally and faced naval inquiry. After spending a hellish YEAR in a North Korean prison.

I wouldn’t be surprised. One thing I learned while I was in was not to trust officers. Only a handful were worth a damn. Same with high rank NCO’s. All of them were political. Looking for ways to get kudos and advance themselves on the back of others, all that mattered was the next promotion or plumb assignment.

Settlement details probably won’t be forthcoming – I’m sure an NDA is involved. But yes, a full public apology needs to be forthcoming if NOTHING else. I hope the kid got enough for a fully financed college education, the full payment of his first house when he graduates, and a PRIMO set of wheels.

He can use the WaPo and NBC settlements (which I’m sure are being negotiated as well – they do NOT want to be doing discovery in this case) as a nice tidy investment account.

Captain Bucher of the Pueblo had ONE gun and was surrounded by NK ships and had already had one sailor killed. In the case of the Iran ship, there was an investigation after but didn’t hear anything. Wouldn’t surprise me if the captain was in on it. Obama’s Pentagon put a lot of weenies in command positions.

Matt Bracken has a very good piece on Lobby Day/Richmond, the 2A rights gathering.

It’s not good. It’s a trap, a false flag op, a la Charlotte, set up by local law enforcement and a complicit FBI, the local office being headed up by an anti-Trump agent who was on Mueller’s team.

Yeah, this is a ‘fuck you’ to Sidney Powell

Early Tuesday afternoon, lawyers for the Justice Department prosecuting the case against Lt. General Mike Flynn revised their previous sentencing recommendation in the case. Last year they had recommended a probationary sentence for the former National Security Advisor, who pled guilty to lying the the FBI during their ambush interview of him in the early days of the Trump Administration.

Today, the DOJ lawyers – one of whom participated in the Mueller Witch Hunt – revised their recommendation to jail time of 0 to 6 months

I think the democrats soros discrestionary fund for mass shooters may be put to use at this rally. They are trying to cripple the 2nd amendment and the Virginia laws are designed to bring things together to do this. Our side doesn’t need to do a thing. Their side will “make” things happen, just like their convenient shootings everytime they need one.

As I read thru Bracken’s piece, I thought of two POSSIBLE flaws. Local law enforcement.

    1. In Virginia almost every jurisdiction’s LE has said they will not enforce any anti-2A laws. And altho I assume it will be state police in Richmond, the issue this time is very different, people have 8 yrs of Obama in their gullets and the divides may not run as they did in Charlottesville.

    2. If bloodshed does occur, Bracken is playing it out that public sympathies will not be with the 2A proponents. I agree the media won’t play it that way, but altho not irrelevant, the credibility in their bank account these days is zero.

Flaws or not, Bracken’s path is legalistic to a tyrannic fault. By the time the process is done, who knows what the courts will look like, the 2A rights will be moot in the meantime. Once gone, they’re gone. We cannot surrender by default.

I agree that this will not quite play out the way they plan in the court of public opinion but they are still playing by the old playbook. You only have to look at how they play their antifa goons over and over again. They think they media still controls the thoughts of the populace. They also think that once the blood flows, Trump is out, they are in and their draconian rules go national.

    @ eaglesoars:
Just landed back in Auckland after a week of smoke in Melbourne. Well that’s not all true. There were 3 days when it was a bit smoky but the wind change blew most of it away into the Tasman sea.

There are masses of False News worldwide concerning these fires including C=NN posting false news pictures of a fire in 2015 NASA posting a picture that was a week’s composite from dozens of fires most of which ere extinguished by the time the pictures were posted. And a false news graphic of Australia imposed over a map of the US for scale showing continuous fires covering great swathes of the whole country. That was featured in LOTS of US news and media sites and it is a TOTAL LIE. The whole thing is absolute BS.

The reasons for these fires getting a hold this fire season comes down to two related facts…
    1.

  85. Aussie Infidel
    86 | January 8, 2020 2:25 am

    1. State Government are responsible for management of bush fire services and ALL of them both Progressive… Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia and so called Conservative .. New South Wales and Queensland ALL totally screwed up and gave into the Greens who control the environment and Conservations bureaucracy. The actual reason for these fires comes down to (a) FUEL LOAD that has been building up for a decade when the last bad fires happened. Humidity… there is a drought… ( Australia always has drought but this particular one is a little lo9nger than normal… wind direction and strength… and lack of resources.

The Federal government can’t get involved constitutionally unless the States request assistance. That FINALLY happened a few days ago when the States Bush Fire Brigades were totally exhausted. The Navy rescued hundreds of tourists stranded with their backs to the sea and now the At=rmy Reserves and Airforce are heavily involved.

The problem for the past month have been INCOMPETANCE at the STATE level and Green Local Councils and Green Urban activists who captured the Conservation bureaucracy and imposed ‘totally NUTS’ restrictions on Fuel load management during the cooler months. In other words Unintended Consequences the result of a Earth Godess Gaia religious fervour idiocy of Communist Green bureaucrats.

The Feds now are proposing to claw back responsibility of National Emergency Powers that will cover the Annual Fire Season and the Management of Fuel Loads in forests and Federal funding so that the Military (Reserves) can get involved EARLY in the future.

  107. 112 | January 8, 2020 10:23 am

    @ eaglesoars:
It’s a complicated state, gun ownership up here. Handguns are either restricted or prohibited depending on barrel length and caliber. Walking into a gun store before you can even handle a firearm you must present a valid PAL (personal acquisition license). For a handgun you must have a restriced PAL, meaning you have passed all the requirements to purchase a handgun.
If you can purchase a handgun you must wait up to a MONTH before you can pick it up and transport it directly home with a trigger lock and a secured carrying case.
All these shootings are done with illegal and mostly smuggled handguns from the states.

How twitter may have facilitated the communications last nite.

Tweets from US president Donald Trump and Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif Tuesday offered a fascinating glimpse at how world leaders can communicate more quickly and directly than ever in times of crisis.

First came a 9:32 pm ET tweet by Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif saying that Iran had “concluded” a proportionate response. Zarif, who speaks English fluently and was educated in the U., including a Ph.D in international law from the University of Denver, has long used his Twitter account with its 1.4 million followers as a means to communicate Tehran’s point of view directly with the West in its own language.

    @ PaladinPhil:

The rationale for banning shooting ranges from all buildings except those owned by the state goes like this (and I’m accurately paraphrasing from the genius who sponsored the legislation)

    – an area that concentrates a lot of people with guns is more likely to produce a mass shooting situation

I kid you not. That this has never happened is not relevant. If it had, why would you allow it in state-owned buildings where gov’t employees are more likely to be the target/victim??!!

The truth is, he’s lying about the reason and he’s too stupid to come up with a good lie.

why he tweeted about it I can’t imagine unless he thinks he’s in deep kimchee

That’s TWO. Both Zeldin and Lankford have said Mike Lee is lying about the briefing they had with Trump.

Mike Lee was gonna be one of the good guys. Then the Mormon Mafia got to him and he’s gone all Mittens.

Remember Weiner? His first act was an announcement that he had been hacked. When the photos emerged that were undeniably him, the story fell apart.

Running for the Dem nomination. And I think the Republicans are hopeless.

Ameena Matthews is a Democratic candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Illinois’ 1st Congressional District.

Matthews’ father is Jeff Fort AKA Abdul Malik Ka’bah, co-founder of the Black P. Stones gang and founder of its El Rukn faction. Fort was sentenced to 168 years in prison after conspiring with Libya to perform acts of domestic terrorism.

Not only is Mathews’ father a gangster and terrorist, but Matthews’ herself was a gang member.

According to reports, “Her father is Jeff Fort, a co-founder of the Black P. Stones gang and founder of El Rukn. He is serving 168 years in prison for agreeing to commit domestic terrorism in exchange for $2.5 million from Libya. Matthews, too, was a gang member. She has said publicly that her children and her Muslim faith pulled her off the streets and guided her toward her peace work.”

Matthews will face Incumbent Bobby Rush, Robert Emmons Jr. and Sarah Gad in the Democratic primary election on March 17, 2020.

    @ AZfederalist:

Well, it DOES happen. I’ve seen stories about people who were headed for basically life in prison because their wifi was hacked. You have to get some good IT people in there to help.

Altho by now, you’d think the Feds would have the expertise to figure it out on their own.

    Nevermind.

Well, I don’t see anybody on that list that is better or worse. … and the voters are going to pick one of them who will then most likely get elected and pass laws that affect the rest of us.

Hoo boy howdy. These two geniuses just managed to hurt the Queen’s feelings and if they think they can stay in the UK after THAT, they’re more delusional than I thought. Whatever anybody thinks of the monarchy, the Queen is revered.

The level of deceit has been staggering

One exasperated aide said: ‘People had bent over backwards for them. They were given the wedding they wanted, the house they wanted, the office they wanted, the money they wanted, the staff they wanted, the tours they wanted and had the backing of their family. What more did they want?’

Another royal source said: ‘It’s deeply unfair to the Queen who doesn’t deserve to be treated this way. It is a shoddy way to treat her. The family understands that they want to do something different and is perfectly willing to help them. People are just devastated.’

The Mail has been told the couple ‘secretly plotted’ their decision during their stay in Canada, even conspiring to create a new website independent of the Royal Family and ready to launch it when they returned. This was without the knowledge of their own loyal UK-based press team.

‘The level of deceit has been staggering and everyone from the top of the royal household to the bottom feels like they have been stabbed in the back,’ one source said.

Someone’s been digging in the Wayback machine. This was just posted on YouTube. It’s an hour-long PBS special on Samantha Fish. Judging from her hair (long and medium blonde), the band (the original trio with Go Go Ray on drums and Scott Sutherland on bass), and the songs, I’m guessing it was shot in the summer of 2014 or so.
