As I read thru Bracken’s piece, I thought of two POSSIBLE flaws. Local law enforcement.
1. In Virginia almost every jurisdiction’s LE has said they will not enforce any anti-2A laws. And altho I assume it will be state police in Richmond, the issue this time is very different, people have 8 yrs of Obama in their gullets and the divides may not run as they did in Charlottesville.
2. If bloodshed does occur, Bracken is playing it out that public sympathies will not be with the 2A proponents. I agree the media won’t play it that way, but altho not irrelevant, the credibility in their bank account these days is zero.
Flaws or not, Bracken’s path is legalistic to a tyrannic fault. By the time the process is done, who knows what the courts will look like, the 2A rights will be moot in the meantime. Once gone, they’re gone. We cannot surrender by default.

Just landed back in Auckland after a week of smoke in Melbourne. Well that’s not all true. There were 3 days when it was a bit smoky but the wind change blew most of it away into the Tasman sea.
There are masses of False News worldwide concerning these fires including C=NN posting false news pictures of a fire in 2015 NASA posting a picture that was a week’s composite from dozens of fires most of which ere extinguished by the time the pictures were posted. And a false news graphic of Australia imposed over a map of the US for scale showing continuous fires covering great swathes of the whole country. That was featured in LOTS of US news and media sites and it is a TOTAL LIE. The whole thing is absolute BS.
The reasons for these fires getting a hold this fire season comes down to two related facts…
1.
1. State Government are responsible for management of bush fire services and ALL of them both Progressive… Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia and so called Conservative .. New South Wales and Queensland ALL totally screwed up and gave into the Greens who control the environment and Conservations bureaucracy. The actual reason for these fires comes down to (a) FUEL LOAD that has been building up for a decade when the last bad fires happened. Humidity… there is a drought… ( Australia always has drought but this particular one is a little lo9nger than normal… wind direction and strength… and lack of resources.
The Federal government can’t get involved constitutionally unless the States request assistance. That FINALLY happened a few days ago when the States Bush Fire Brigades were totally exhausted. The Navy rescued hundreds of tourists stranded with their backs to the sea and now the At=rmy Reserves and Airforce are heavily involved.
The problem for the past month have been INCOMPETANCE at the STATE level and Green Local Councils and Green Urban activists who captured the Conservation bureaucracy and imposed ‘totally NUTS’ restrictions on Fuel load management during the cooler months. In other words Unintended Consequences the result of a Earth Godess Gaia religious fervour idiocy of Communist Green bureaucrats.
The Feds now are proposing to claw back responsibility of National Emergency Powers that will cover the Annual Fire Season and the Management of Fuel Loads in forests and Federal funding so that the Military (Reserves) can get involved EARLY in the future.

It’s a complicated state, gun ownership up here. Handguns are either restricted or prohibited depending on barrel length and caliber. Walking into a gun store before you can even handle a firearm you must present a valid PAL (personal acquisition license). For a handgun you must have a restriced PAL, meaning you have passed all the requirements to purchase a handgun.
If you can purchase a handgun you must wait up to a MONTH before you can pick it up and transport it directly home with a trigger lock and a secured carrying case.
All these shootings are done with illegal and mostly smuggled handguns from the states.
I’m curious about the aircrash in Iran; government is refusing to turn over the “black box” to Boeing. Claims it was “mechanical failure”.
This is complete and utter BS. You cannot determine the cause of an air crash in 6 hours even WITH the CVR.

Someone’s been digging in the Wayback machine. This was just posted on YouTube. It’s an hour-long PBS special on Samantha Fish. Judging from her hair (long and medium blonde), the band (the original trio with Go Go Ray on drums and Scott Sutherland on bass), and the songs, I’m guessing it was shot in the summer of 2014 or so.
