Can someone indulge me with an opinion on this or maybe tell me where my thinking is wrong ? I assume I’m wrong because I’ve yet to hear ANYONE else
say it, so, without further adieu :

Aren’t the dems presupposing Bidens guilt ?

Wouldn’t an investigation into Biden have to find Biden guilty of corruption in order for it to help Trumps re election campaign ?

What good would it do Trumps re-election campaign if Biden were found INNOCENT ?

The only way it helps Trump is if Biden is (found) GUILTY because if he were found innocent the msm would have one more nail for the coffin, right ?

    Thank you for your indulgence.

We estimate the basic reproduction number of the infection (R_0) to be 3.8 (95% confidence interval, 3.6-4.0), indicating that 72-75% of transmissions must be prevented by control measures for infections to stop increasing…

We estimate that only 5.1% (95%CI, 4.8-5.5) of infections in Wuhan are identified, and by 21 January a total of 11,341 people (prediction interval, 9,217-14,245) had been infected in Wuhan since the start of the year. Should the epidemic continue unabated in Wuhan….

we predict the epidemic in Wuhan will be substantially larger by 4 February (191,529 infections; prediction interval, 132,751-273,649), infection will be established in other Chinese cities, and importations to other countries will be more frequent. Our model suggests that..

travel restrictions from and to Wuhan city are unlikely to be effective in halting transmission across China; with a 99% effective reduction in travel, the size of the epidemic outside of Wuhan may only be reduced by 24.9% on 4 February.

Fox evidently was stupid enough to have a town hall with Pete Buttigig tonite which even I was not stupid enough to watch. But Katie Pavlich says this happened

Pete Buttigig just told a pro-life, Democrat *woman* she has no place in today’s Democrat Party. All she asked for was a recognition there is diversity of thought on the issue and that it be put in the platform language. He said no and told her to deal with it.

    Oopsie!

Everyone is having palpitations because the NYT has a pre-publication copy of Bolton’s book and they’re saying he writes a lot of Orange Man Bad.

One problem. Only one org had that book. The NSC’s Records Mgmt Div, for pre-pub security review to be sure there was no classified info.

According to Bolton’s lawyer, that’s the only place the NYT could have got the book and HE IS PISSED.

    It’s also a fed crime, I believe

Yeah, I heard about this yesterday and have zero idea of what’s going on. Somebody is not listening to the CiC and the Pentagon needs some rank-busting

Earlier today, January 24, the Pentagon reportedly blocked attempts by the Trump administration to materially tighten sanctions against Huawei. This came shortly after the U.S. Commerce Department had confirmed its intention to further restrict the Chinese giant’s access to U.S. technology housed inside non-U.S. products.

According to those reports, the Department of Defense issued a “nonconcurrence” to the proposal, effectively blocking it, on the basis that the move would shift R&D dollars away from U.S. companies to foreign competition instead.

You will need at a bare minimum a well fitted N95 mask to properly protect yourself as well as eye protection. The virus is known to pass through a N100 mask and a N95 barely reaches the minimum requirement.

The ‘fashion statement’ paper masks worn by Asians currently does squat, but probably makes them feel good … or something! That’s not to say that the infected shouldn’t wear paper masks as it reduces the spit from floating out their mouths. Eyes are the prime source of infection so I guess any kind of masking glasses makes it harder to wipe your nose or eyes.

Lancet in the UK has confirmed that the first cases reported were nowhere near the wet markets before they reported. Makes you a little more suspicious about the bio0warfare lab just outside Wuhan city.

    🙁

More on the supposed Bolton book leak.

Mick Mulvaney, via his lawyer, has denied the accuracy of the portrayal of Mulvaney’s part/role. He explicity denied he ever was present during conversations between Guiliani & Trump, as he did not want to compromise lawyer/client privilege.

    https://twitter.com/maggieNYT/status/1221848531545264128

And some people are noting that in all the talk about this book, there has not been one direct quote from it.

I know but alas availability of PAPR filters are much harder to find. Even N95s are not always available. We are prepping here just in case. We’ve now got 90 days food and other supplies as well as the vegetable garden and orchard, for all of the family. Son #2 has warned out his Precinct that he will take leave to protect our grandson (who has cystic fibrosis) and therefore a vulnerability to respiratory infections. We also have 6-12 months gas for cooking, as well as a reserve supply (Bar-B-Que) for cooking, and a totally independent water supply from a group spring and reticulation system. There is also all the fish we can eat just 40 metres away off the beach. We’re still marginally vulnerable to power outages. Not sure whether solar and a Tesla Power Wall is justified yet. That’s really the final block in the wall to be completely self sufficient.

Daughter has to collect her 2 Chinese students off a flight from Hong kong. She will self isolate for 2 weeks to ensure that they are not carrying the virus. Her bloody school is only requiring 7 days isolation before school returns after the long summer holidays. Idiots! The incubation period for Corona is 4-14 days so we are counting on isolation for the full 14 days before our daughter gets to come to the beach bolt-hole.

Not getting crazy about this but we are getting careful.

    🙂

Wife has a full sealed mask and hood for work when she was doing lab checks for REALLY bad shit that folks had in their chemical safes.

Anyone want to read something that’ll make your hair stand on end? Read Bacteriological Warfare by Koziminov about the Soviet development and plans for bio-weapons in the late 1980s. No doubt China has all of these weapons now as well. Hard to find the book but it’s out there still.

    🙂

I did an interview of the author about 8 years ago as part of a research project and report to help an Aussie write his memoirs about his time in the Aussie security services. Truly horrifying read. Especially the bit about the deployment in the late 1980s of Soviet bio-weapons into the British Home Counties …. that were never neutralised and remain out there …. waiting for someone to accidentally put a shovel or a dozer blade through these hidden vails.

    🙁

No. Wrong narrative. Biden’s guilt or innocence has nothing to do with anything.

The bare-ass naked facts do not pertain. In some part, getting everyone to tell the same lie in the same way at the same time is a bonding experience, it exerts even more control as they are forced to lie in order to stay members of the hive.

You will notice that the story line says A one week, and the next week it’s B, which directly contradicts story line A.

Immaterial. Their lies are not meant to be believed or to persuade. They are meant to create a reality. Wander outside those boundaries and you are expelled, shunned, cancelled.

Adam Schiff knows he’s lying. He knows everybody else knows he’s lying. All that matters is that the lie is the story, the only story, the eternal truth.

The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost, Amen.

These people are participating in an auto-de-fe because they believe there is no ‘reality’ that cannot be bent to their will, created by their desires.

It is not anything you or I would recognize as sane, but it’s happened throughout history and brought down civilizations.

    @ eaglesoars:

Its late (for some) and I’m just getting in, had to go out for the evening.Thank you mam, I much appreciate the time and effort you put in to your response.
If I could ask your opinion once more ? I’m wondering if my thinking is logical. Maybe the responses I’ve been getting are for the reasons you set out and my thoughts just are not relevant. But, even if now not relevant, does it at least make sense ? Said another way, its not (and never was) a ‘given’ that had they followed through on Trumps supposed request, an investigation into Biden this request would have worked out for Trump and his campaign. In fact, it very easily could have worked against him (had Biden been found innocent). He didn’t let the politics get into it, he just wanted to do the right thing for the right reasons and let the chips fall where they may. The announcement insistence was to make it harder for ukraine to back away from the agreement.

I don’t know whether people I know personally, who I’ve spoke this thought to face to face, have just nodded and agreed to be polite to me, or, more importantly to me, were they honestly agreeing? I know you can not answer that but I value your opinion yet I figure being that we don’t know each other personally, even if you were the type ‘to go along to get along’ in personal ‘1 to 1’ social interactions in person, you are much more likely to tell me your true thoughts here.
Now I’m hoping THIS makes sense, lol !!

they are relevant and they make sense

I don’t know what the issue is with your amnesia, but it hasn’t touched your reasoning.

I can’t speak to whether or not you’re getting robust feedback from the people you run this by. I am aware that a lot of people look at this and understandably make the sign of the cross and consign all these people to the bowels of hell, then head out to the grocery store. Can’t say I blame them, they’re the sane ones.

What I ‘heard’ when I read your post was “if this is true, then this must be true but it isn’t and why not?”. That’s what my response was about.

Anyone who loves history has an era they wish they could have personally witnessed. I have had quite a few, if you held my hand over hot coals and made me choose one, it would be probably be Elizabeth I.

“Until now. This one is a game-changer, not just a continuum. This is a solar-flare in the clash of civilizations.”

You aren’t kiddin’. We have 2 realities going on and I just realized, after reading your response, that its getting so bizarre I may have been asking you to confirm my sanity for me, not because of the damage to my brain but because of the state of affairs at this date and time.
Of course there is only ONE reality, I know, but the msm has been presenting TWO. I’m very serious about that too.
I remember way the hell back in the early 90s saying that the new 24/7 news cycle is not going to end pretty. I know it was not an original thought and
any thinking person was thinking same at that time. CNN was like the Beatles landing at JFK. With the GW I we had 3 news stars ‘Bernie, whats his face and whats his face”. They were over night ‘stars’ and everyone knew their names (I liked the one with the funny nose). When that story (‘GW I’) went away (or at least went to the back burner) the race was on to cover the blank screen with ‘content, after all, we were now PAYING for TV (cable).
FOX came on the scene (The Stones ?) shit started getting competitive but not in a good way. “Hannity and Colmes” and how many other started popping up (continues with analogy) like ‘The Dave Clark 5’ (how old are you ?) and … well, analogy ends here. I hope my point was made without embarrassing myself too much (a big fear of mine lately). Thinking back though to the ’60s, troubled times as they were, music was there to soothe our savage breasts …. or something like that, but as our parents warned us many, many years ago “Don’t discuss politics when socializing with friends or out in public. Stay away from talking religion too”. ‘OK ma, thanks pop !!” (completely ignores the good advice).
The opening chords and/or beats coming from our AM car radios caused my friends and I, of course like millions of other kids around the world, to join in protracted hand clapping, foot stomping, guitar strumming, drum smashing hootin’ and hollerin’, rockin’ and a rollin’ GREAT time – nothing at all like the back biting, friendship killing, family wrecking mess we experiencing today. Where the hell did it all go wrong? We’ve been manipulated, BIG TIME.
Wow, already 1:30 am here. Nite yinz !!

    @ coldwarrior:

I thought of that earlier today myself. And who would be behind such an evil plan/plot ? Talk about ‘chess playing’, think of how much had to be controlled including people! This could be the biggest mind fuck ever. But then Occam’s razor comes to mind and …
‘They’ have so much money at their disposal, so much control and have had decades to plan and devise such a monstrous plot though that it could be true !
Back when Epstein was reported to have been found dead in his jail cell what made no sense to me was not the issue of murder/suicide but after his last bust how could he not be plotting a way to stay out of prison ? If I had his money and influence there is no way I’d be doing time, NO WAY. If he had say 10 billion in cash and assets to throw around, whats one billion ? Especially when you’re facing life in prison ? Hell, whats 9 billion ? You still have one billion left over and your freedom !! THINK of what could be done if you had that much at your disposal ? Hollywood movies don’t spend that much on the top sci/fi movies. The worlds best plastic surgeons, judge/lawyers, cops, care takers, all in for say 100 million a piece. WHO could resist that kind of money ? Maybe a lot but guaranteed there is just as many who would be your whatever for that kind of money – waiting in line no less. Damn, now its 2 am !! Good. You’re almost there. Now read this.

    I admit it – I was wrong

Last week I advised that the best course of action as the left attacks our rights is to keep a civil course, wow them with facts, decency, and knowledge and defend our rights with knowledge, passion, and eloquence.

I felt that we could win based on logic and rational discourse, but having watched the events of this week unfold in front of my eyes, I realize just how wrong I was.

I thought that after engaging with our political opponents en masse, peacefully stating our concerns, and rationally discussing the issues of due process and Second Amendment rights in Richmond, the Democrats would step away from their insane assault on our freedoms.

    I was wrong.

Despite concerns which the Democrats admitted to have had about the proposed “red flag law” during discussions with the press and with gun rights advocates, they advanced this appalling legislation the very next day after the massive rally in Richmond, disingenuously claiming that the measure is “thoughtful” and preserves due process. They jammed through other appalling bills, limiting the ability of peaceable Virginians to exercise their rights, without so much as a second thought, claiming that “elections have consequences.”

Bingo. To claim attorney-client privilege, NO ONE can be in the room when Giuliani was talking to the President. Presence of a third-party completely negates the privilege. Or to put it this way, you can have a third party in the room. But that third party is NOT bound by privilege, and Giuliani would know this. Therefore, if someone else were in the room, Giuliani had no worries about the nature of the discussion or the need for privilege.

I pointed out on Twitter on Friday that I found it odd that Obama has not come forward to claim that Biden absolutely had authority to withhold the aid if they did not fire the supposed corrupt prosecutor. You would think he would have made that concession for Biden at the very lest. I’m thinking that Obama had NO IDEA Biden had pulled this stunt and that when Joey-boy snotted “call him” that he was hoping and praying no one pulled out a cell phone.

Obama doesn’t want Biden. I think he wants Warren. They’re already working to sabotage Bernie again.

Yeah, I think it was an accident, I’ve thought so from the beginning. The thing with China is that their culture provides perfect transmission vectors. It’s not just the wet markets. That swine flu spread was made worse by farmers tossing infected carcasses into rivers instead of reporting it because the gov’t would shut them down instead of making them whole. When cattle were infected with BSE in the UK a few years ago, there was imposed slaughter but the farmers were compensated.

Harvard Chemistry Chair & Two Chinese Nationals Arrested For Lying About China Ties, Smuggling “Biological Material”

In a shocking revelation made Tuesday afternoon – a revelation that will almost certainly rattle the US-China relationship at an already fragile time – a federal court unsealed indictments against Harvard professor and Chemistry Department Head Charles Lieber, along with two Chinese nationals. One is a Boston University researcher who was once a lieutenant in the People’s Liberation Army, according to prosecutors, and the second was a cancer researcher who tried to smuggle 21 vials of biological materials in his sock – allegedly. Lieber has been arrested, though it’s not clear if he’s still in custody.

Though the official charge was lying to investigators, Lieber’s actions look like an unvarnished attempt at espionage, complete with an extremely seductive monetary reward.

Jennifer Rubin’s take on White House legal team is ‘so stupid we’re all dumber for having seen it’

We all know that Washington Post conservative blogger Jennifer Rubin is eagerly awaiting a conviction in the Senate and the removal of Donald Trump as president. She’s already called Rep. Adam Schiff’s opening statement “the most brilliant legal presentation I have heard” and she literally thanked God she was alive to hear Schiff speak over the course of the impeachment trial.

That, of course, means that the White House legal team must have been a hot mess, right? Imagine if they ever had to argue in front of a real judge.

Someone should probably tell her that Sekulow’s argued 12 cases before SCOTUS (and won 9 of them–one unanimously).

So, a number of years ago, one of our company’s brilliant VP’s invited a consulting group to come and talk to us about sustainability. Now, this was before the current corporate fad began, so the idea of green defense articles was somewhat amusing to those of us with more than two brain cells to rub together.

However, one of the takeaways from this: The lead dude was absolutely infatuated with China, heaping praises on them and how they had “sustainable agriculture” that had been in place for centuries. His comment was that they knew how to utilize human and animal waste and that’s what kept them able to produce crops down the centuries because they carefully planned an managed use of human and animal waste.

/My leadership back then was sane — he laughed when I told him the gist of the meetings he had sent me to attend.

    Here come the GOP excuses

It’s a one-off problem unique to the Trump candidacy.

Nonsense. The GOP has not won the presidency since 2004 because it insists on relying on a diminishing segment of the electorate and infuriating everyone else. The chickens are coming home to roost as millions of women, African Americans, Hispanics and millennials turn against the GOP in ever greater numbers.

One of his other comments was about one of the women he met who was in charge of planning housing for over 1 million people. He was awestruck at her having such responsibility as she was only in her 30’s. My thought was, “why is one single person in charge of planning housing for 1 million people?” In the US, we have multiple companies and private entities investing their own capital in creating such housing and competing among one another for tenants.

and he never thought to ask “Who’s her daddy?”

    I bet he’s waiting for AOC………..

I attended while a dairy cow was delivering. Let’s just say that any farming that involves animals is never going to make the Disney channel. So, some friend of a relative who had never been on a farm before thought this was going to be really cool!

And he fainted dead away. We just left him there, we were busy. He woke up to find that baby cows are kinda slimy when they first arrive and I’m pretty sure he became an instant vegetarian. Then he didn’t want us anywhere near him because he could smell the disinfectant.

    *sigh*

Seeing a vegan, vegetarian cow munching away at a nice, fresh, raw and juicy placenta probably would come as a shock too.

    @ Possum:

A lot of mammals do that. Not humans, tho, which pretty much tells you we’re an apex predator. Even dolphins do. But for some reason, camels don’t.

This is – I don’t know what this is. I think it’s supposed to be a Bloomberg campaign ad.

Whoever he has advising his campaign are making out like bandits, because this sucks canal water.

I was a mess for a good week after that. 2 more till I was 100%.
And I was 285 on the old pt standards.

I went through the SFAS course when I was 21 and weighing about 205 lb. I lost 17 lbs during my 4 week stay and slept for 2 days afterwards. Took the body 2 weeks to heal up, but I was in the best shape of my life and indestructable then.

    Nothing but memories now. LOL

I spent a lot of time on my grandfathers farm when I was a kid. Granddad appreciated the free labor and I learned how “the sausage gets made.” Litterally.
