    Quote of the Day

History does not always repeat itself. Sometimes it just yells, ‘Can’t you remember anything I told you?’ and lets fly with a club.

I’ve lost it but I saw a tweet that shows a Taiwan newspaper reporting the coronavirus infection rate is 15%.

5 people at Tahoe are down with it, French nationals who shared a chalet with someone who’d been to China. Instapundit has a list of links

    @ lobo91:

That’s an unfair headline. A better one would be “How the PENTAGON….”. I have no idea who is on the right side of this one by the way. I’ve read some horror stories about Iraqi translators that can’t get in and end up dead.

I’m fairly certain that Bloomberg will end up as the nominee.

    They’re shaping the battlefield now.

My husband will confirm – I predicted 6 mos ago that Bloomie would get in and probably win.

The current Dem line up is pathetic. They’re going after what they think is a Trump clone as the only thing that can beat Trump. Their only other alternative was Steyer but I’m betting there are skeletons there.

It’s going to be fascinating to see what goes on with the socialist wing of the party when that happens.

Maybe they’ll back Bernie as a third party candidate and split the vote

That would be my guess. It’s not like Bernie has another chance he’d be blowing.

Currently about 400 million people are under some level of quarantine in China. That’s about 30% more than the entire population of the U.S.

Here’s an article in the Journal American Med Assoc on the virus.

Not good, not good, not good

    https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2761044?guestAccessKey=f61bd430-07d8-4b86-a749-bec05bfffb65&utm_source=For_The_Media&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=ftm_links&utm_content=tfl&utm_term=020720

It’s a unique data set in that it covers hospitalized patients, only 138 of them, but the numbers suck.

If that was supposed to be “how much of a chance,” I’d say not much.

If he gets the nomination, it’ll split the party. Nobody who supports Sanders or Warren is going to vote for him. We may even see one (or both) of them run on a third party ticket, which will guarantee Trump’s victory.

And my opinion is – I have zero feel for it. I read a poll 2 days after Trump’s speech where his disapproval ratings is in the 40s, slightly lower than his approval rating.

    utter garbage.

But I don’t know how deep Trump support runs, I really don’t. And there are apparently a lot of Americans who either don’t see, or aren’t bothered by, Bloomberg’s nanny state.

NEW: Nevada Democrats are developing a new “tool” to be preloaded onto iPads and distributed to precinct chairs. The tool — which volunteers who attended a training today were told is not an “app” — will fold in early vote results on Caucus Day. Story coming soon on

Sorry, if it’s on an iPad, it’s an “app”.

“As some point will conservatives understand the threat they face from the left in America?
Set up defensive perimeters around these events.
Expect and plan for being attacked.
Have the necessary defensive equipment on hand and be prepared to use deadly force to protect your own life and those around you.
And always always have live video recording to capture events as they happen.
I recommend 4K drones in the air at all times.”

    yeah, pretty much

  31. 36 | February 9, 2020 7:27 am

    @ lobo91:
It should have been ‘a chance’.

I guess I’m a little worried that TDS is so strong that the Democratic Party will unite, and Sanders and Warren will not mount an independent challenge. Sure, Bloomberg‘s sin of being a business man might stop some Sanders/Warren supporters, but there are a lot of Never Trumpers out there.

Not enough of us. Just like the Jews, getting on the trains, thinking there would be furnished apartments at the end of that tunnel. People’s sanity will need them to believe in the system until the blindfold gets wrapped around their heads. There is too much psychological dissonance in facing reality, because, ‘what now?’. We don’t have opponents, we have enemies.

Looks like they’re cremating the bodies.

Data from http://windy.com shows a massive release of sulfur dioxide gas from the outskirts of Wuhan, commonly associated with the burning of organic matters. Levels are elevated, even compared with the rest of China.
