I hate to open a thread with something like this, but if you are in NY – get out.

This proposed legislation allows the governor to detain anybody he deems a threat to public health w/o due process in a facility of the governor’s choosing.

    6. WHEN A PERSON OR GROUP IS ORDERED TO BE DETAINED PURSUANT TO SUBDI-

DAYS, SUCH PERSON OR MEMBER OF SUCH GROUP SHALL, UPON REQUEST, BE
AFFORDED AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD.

That seems crazy and dangerous. More like a domestic violence call where the police are one half of the call.

The police are enforcing rules here no liberty. They lose their job if they don’t. You probably lose your job if they do.

Domestic calls like these are energized by the Mayor who puts the hammer on the police chief if the chief wants a job. Some form of mass civil disobedience probably has to occur.

People really do not understand the simmering anger and resentment out there. Sooner or later, someone with the training and motivation is gonna do something really bad. It’s coming

** Arresting the Mayor is probably the best way to defuse the violence. Police Unions should get together in their Facebook group and plan it out.

And neither does Nancy Pelosi. Somebody spray painted her garage and left a pigs head.

The reason is – who pays for it? Taxpayers? That would go over well. Out of their own pocket? Oh, defund the police!! Except for youse? Private armed body guards? Yeah, try restricting gun rights with that one.

    Rock. Hard place.

Here’s what I don’t get. People in NYC get it. Andrew Cuomo will never be allowed in a restaurant in the city – and maybe the state – for the rest of his life. Tell me why one hair salon on the planet is still doing Nancy’s roots?

Even in the fanciest restaurant the congressional elites should exhibit caution. They just denied the waitstaff and the cooks $1200 for being to rich. I don’t think they are going to get the best effort out of the staff. I’d want to tip the cook heavily and make sure he watched my food for me.

Cooks: Sweaty people drinking wine and chain smoking while having to decide if the mayonnaise in the locker is past its expiration date.

I’d stick to drinks and bar food if I was in DC.

  27. darkwords
    29 | January 2, 2021 8:32 pm

    @ eaglesoars:
In the act yes. But not in the idea. Police Unions carry some weight with the activities of their officers. Most likely they would advise a slow down that prevents responding to domestic calls. I would see that as the only way in altering police behavior.

And these days these police unions share rules and practices over the internet through discussions. A common police department probably has a dozen cross jurisdictional comms groups you never hear about and can’t FOIA because they are talking about active crimes.

Most likely you would get a message “yah we are not going to do that.” Union people are concerned about their pensions. And job safety. but you can’t be seen as the person taking initiative. That is not part of union philosophy.

When the police visit a household like this it’s representative of a collaboration between the police union and the city elected officials creating rules to enforce. A standalone home owner has no chance. Some sort of union of the underdogs needs to upset the political applecart here.

There’s not much open in D.C. as I understand it, so it’s a moot point.

But when things DO open up – if I were one of these people, I’d be eating at McDonalds for the rest of the term.

No restaurant is going to risk it’s license to screw a political person. But failure of the wait staff to acknowledge one’s existence – well…and if you’ve managed to piss off the bartender, I don’t know of much that can make a person feel lower than shedded snake skin.

    @ Bunk X:
From The Montreal Journal (via google translate)

    The police explain themselves

Called to explain, the Gatineau Police Service (SPVG) admitted to intervening Thursday evening, around 11:10 pm, in a residence on rue Le Baron, after a citizen’s complaint.

“The recommended approach was preventive. The agents asked for their collaboration to put an end to the gathering, but they were rejected, ”commented Lieutenant Éric Simard.

According to him, the Gatineau police officers initially intended to give a simple notice, but, in the end, they had no other choice but to distribute statements of offense, which, let us remember, are amount to $ 1,546 per person.

A man was also taken to the police station.

“He was released, but the file was submitted to the DPCP [director of criminal and penal prosecutions], who could lay charges,” said Eric Simard.

The lieutenant of the SPVG specified that this event required the intervention of six police officers, that is to say as much as the number of people who were gathered.

No agent was injured, it was added.

    My point exactly.
Apparently what they’ve been up to since 2014 has yet to register at all on the we’re onto you lot and this is going to hurt you scumbags.

I’m sure however that their time has been well spent writing reports and feeling very smug about being from the INSIDE cohort.

Alas the fun of which you speak will not involve members of the Squad messing up the carpet of the House by bleeding out.

The US House design is all wrong. Members in the Treasury benches should FACE the opposition benches at a distance of two extended sword lengths like the Brits, Aussies Kiwis, Canuks etc.

That way when you have to stand behind the line on the carpet whilst berating your enemies opposite with sword in hand you can’t actually stab ’em.

You have to go outside the chamber to stab your opponent to death. Arguments were thus brought to a finish and there was no blood on the floor to clean up.

Pence ‘welcomes’ efforts of lawmakers to ‘raise objections’ to Electoral College results

Vice President Pence’s chief of staff said in a statement on Saturday that the vice president “welcomes” an effort by some lawmakers to “raise objections” on Jan. 6 when Congress meets to certify the Electoral College vote.

“Vice President Pence shares the concerns of millions of Americans about voter fraud and irregularities in the last election,” Marc Short, Pence’s chief of staff, said in a statement to The Hill.

“The Vice President welcomes the efforts of members of the House and Senate to use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence before the Congress and the American people on January 6th,” the statement continued.

As I understand it Eagles there are about a dozen Senators who will raise objections and around 110 House Members. Each gets two hours to make their point which adds up to 220 hours of House time (assuming that the Senate debates in parallel and time spent in the Senate is minimal. So assuming 220 hours of House testimony and just 12 days to get through it all calculates as about 18 + hours of testimony a day taking us up to the 18th Jan when all objections hav to be heard. How long does the House sit per day Eagles in a situation like this including meal times and breaks.
    Is it a 24/7 system. ?

If not everyone has has had their say then from what i understand it’s up to Pence to make the call under the 12 Amendment to call on States t offer a single representative to vote on their behalf for the Presidential candidates.

    Is that your understanding too?

As it stands now, I think each chamber has allowed 12 hours of talk/debate

Pence counts the certified votes. If there is a dispute about the slates, Pence has the authority to decide which to accept. If no one reaches 270 EVs, the 12th amend kicks it to the House

Then each DELEGATION votes (NOT each member – Pennsylvania and Cali each get one) R delegations outnumber Ds

Here’s a very good thread about it, the story really starts at about the 9th tweet down

There was clearly a motivation for covering the specific subjects and having that call yesterday. You could hear in the exchanges that the Pres. was being directed on his end — probably with written cues — to refer to specific factual claims.

None of this information was new, as Raffensperger covered the fact that his office had responded to the specific issues to the GA House, GA Senate, and GOP members of Congress. So the WH knew everything the SOS was going to say. Now they have him on tape.

I think they are going to drop something factual tomorrow which contradicts the SOS claims. If they have solid evidence on one or more of the claims that the SOS waved off today, that will cut him off at the knees in terms of his defense and certification of the GA outcome.

This is a cultural heads up from one of the last surviving females in this place.

    Look at this.

    https://twitter.com/Jord_45/status/1346159173034131456

If you can’t see twitter, it’s a side-by-side photo spread of an ‘old’ Cosmopolitan cover with a sexy, gorgeous woman on the left, and a fat cow attempting a yoga position on the right. The text on the right sez THIS IS HEALTHY. The fat cow on the right is also black and quite unattractive

Equating ‘beauty’ with ‘health’ is a cultural analogy specific to the U.S., just so you know.

Remember that Gillette commercial/ad that showed a morbidly obese woman on the beach that tried to convince us her appearance was something to be aspired to? And we all snorted, pointed, and laughed?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_gxJnLIs2Y

And people were accused of ‘fat shaming’, etc.

The Cosmo cover is a continuation of the Gillette ad. It’s not about being ‘inclusive’ or about making ‘fat shaming’ equivalent to being racist.

It’s about making us redefine beauty, desirability, etc. and feel guilty if we can’t agree. It’s another bludgeon to be used by cancel culture. It will go from there to refusing to, um, ‘engage’ with trans people makes you transphobic and therefore, canceled.

    No joke

Some women have penises. If you won’t sleep with them you’re transphobic

‘Here is a group of people. You say you aren’t willing to consider having sex with them. That means you are causing those people real harm and you are a bad person. You should put aside your reservations and reconsider having sex with them.’

This is the normalization of rape. Non-consensual sex is rape. Period. Full stop. And if non-consensual sex ISN’T rape – then let’s talk about the children.

    Mark my words.

This is the current and projected risk factor for Covid 19 based on the percentage of Israeli’s population inoculated. So far around 12% have been inoculated and the magic number of 30% will be reached by early February when the risk factor graph flattens at around 95% risk factor against contracting this disease. Remember that those contracting Covid 19 have a 99.5% mean survival rate across all age groups reducing to 99.9% survival with timely administration of Therapeutics. So much for the duplicitous bastards like Fauci in the US, who have skin in the regulatory and Big Pharma game, claiming that lockdowns will extend for years. This jackbooted little Fascist needs to be taken down a peg. Likewise Chairman Dan of the Peoples’ Republik of Victoria also needs to be kicked to the kerb and will be when the money runs out and his acolytes begin the feel the sting of economic reality returning to Melbourne.

Lockdowns with fabric mask wearing have little to do with the spread of Corona 19 and a LOT to do with enforced compliance to State mandates, based on faux-science. With a flat risk profile around 95% immunity, then therapeutics, of which there are many, will come into their own, sweeping up the unfortunate 5% who still contract this disease. Currently a healthy individual has 1 chance in 1650 is dying of Covid. And 1 in 33,000 chance of dying with a 95% risk factor curve attained, not to mention early intervention therapeutics which further reduce the risk profile by another 90%. Sure there may be a few deaths in the aged demographic who have comorbidities however even there the numbers will be within the statistical error rates. These unfortunates will die with Covid rather than of Covid !

The total politicisation of this pandemic shows just how shallow Western democracy is, where a good terror campaign hosted in the MSM can render citizens into compliant drones to Jack-boot political sociopaths… and worse. Please note that the AMA slipped its approval of previously banned therapeutics slipped un-noticed into legislation during the Christmas ‘silly season’ and NOT reported by the compliant MSM. Our so called ‘betters’ and elitists have a LOT to answer for.
Meanwhile the elites in the West have ransacked their economies and destroyed the livelihoods of the entrepreneurial middle class, that demographic that most opposes the global plans of the corporatist aligned progressive hard left. I can still remember Raul Emanual waxing lyrical about never allowing a crisis to go to waste, and Hillary Clinton saying … “what difference does it make …” when discribing her throwing the Benghazi defenders under the Obama Administration’s
Bus and leaving them to their fate!

Fairfax County is putting signs up at all the park entrances that you can’t carry weapons even if you have a CC permit.

County parks are not private property, they are funded by tax payer monies and I think the 2A covers that one like white on rice.

I don’t know where the NRA is, why I pay dues, etc., but I’ve got 5 more months in this shit show and as God is my witness, when we’re in Tennessee, I’m wearing my .38 in the freaking shower.

Have you heard anything more about pressure placed on VP Pence by the ‘swamp’ regarding embarrassing family matters?

Or is that just more faux fact incoming artillery from the Fascist left?

Sounds like the NRA is yet again missing in action.

The old style NRA would gather 5,000 members with CC Carry permits and stage a park walk through goading the Parks’ Administration to attempt to arrest them all.

    🙂

Not so much these days !

Proud Boys’ leader Enrique Tarrio has been arrested in DC on misdemeanor destruction of property charges. Apparently related to him saying he burned a BLM flag.

This is part and parcel of the mayor calling in the Nat’l Guard to help with the march in D.C. on Jan 6 of Trump supporters as she says she is expecting violence.

She should. Antifa has been public about infiltrating.

I’ve been meaning to ask you – I deleted my entire previous twitter incarnation when I realized the new guys are deadly serious about coming after people who can be identified as Trump supporters. Not me, but anybody with half a brain could have figured out who my husband is. I wiped everything.

That included some tweets about a firm that creates holsters, etc., for women, that you posted here. Along with another one that I can’t remember the name of either, Dean/Deen something.

Black Bloc was/is the strong arm of leftist protests. They’ve been around for decades now it seems. Remember them running amuck in Toronto at the G7/8 summit in the summer of 2010 I believe. Standard tactic was to carry a back pack with a change of clothes so that after smashing and breaking something run to a place out of sight and do a quick change and walk away.

One of the organizers of the protests was caught running cover against a journalist who actually caught a Black Bloc member changing. The organizer got in the journalists camera and face blocking them covering the change.
