I finally got my hands on a cigar that I have been wanting to try: The Drew Estates MUWAT Fire Cured 3 3/4 x 56 ‘Hamhock’.

Good Golly! Hello! I’m not sure where to start the description on this one. So I might need to have another later. I’m having this one with a nice 8 y.o. single malt and then gonna get some sleep…smoked oak…hickory…peat…jeeze!

It’s an open

Today on Steve Bannon Daniel Schultz discussed the bottom up grass roots approach. There are only 200,000 out of 400,000 possible Republican precinct committeemen seats filled. Of these, he defines 100,000 as being MAGA and 100,000 being other.

Missouri lawmakers race to be first to ‘nullify’ federal gun laws imposed by Biden administration

On the same day the Missouri Senate debated 17 hours into the predawn to “perfect” a COVID-19 business liability protection bill, the Missouri House made short work of passing a bill prohibiting state law enforcement agencies from enforcing federal firearms regulations.

House Bill 85, the ‘Second Amendment Preservation Act,’ sponsored by Rep. Jered Taylor, R-Nixa, advanced to a final House floor hearing Wednesday in a 107-43 mostly partisan vote.

The measure would invalidate federal laws or “other actions deemed to infringe on a person’s Second Amendment right to bear arms,” while claiming not to infringe on federal authority to enforce federal gun laws in Missouri.

All Missouri gun laws would remain in effect under the measure, which is one step away from adoption by the chamber and transferal to the Senate where a similar ‘Second Amendment Preservation Act’ awaits a first floor hearing.

When I used to be an active Libertarian it was the very low end person who sharpened pencils, bought coffee and donuts with their own money, and coordinated sticker and button outreach for the local voters. At the caucus time then we became the only people who knew how to manage the voting process. And it was still a snafu. I think I did like 10 hours of work in year.

But also that person was positioned to be sent to the state convention as a representative.

i wasn’t impressed by the people. A lot of them wanted to dick around with the rules. Ethics lacking types. I think the position was a magnet for them.

I’ve been thinking about something. Neural implants. I do not underestimate Elon Musk.

If your child were born with a type of paralysis that could be alleviated with a neural implant, would you agree? I think most of us would.

If you are a math RETARD like me (I’m using that word because I’m not supposed to), would you take a neural implant that would allow you to understand quantum physics math? I would be tempted.

So what if neural implants were like interior design? You could choose one to make you a great artist, an engineer, – and what if the implant didn’t have to be permanent? Just plug it in and download the code. Remove the hardware, like a thumb drive.

    Languages. Everyone could understand everything.

    Ok, I’m done, carry one.

This is the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writing about an apparent interview w/Marcy Kaptur, Congresswoman from Ohio

    Marcy Kaptur’s warning

But these places and the people who live in them, says Ms. Kaptur, are largely invisible to her Democratic colleagues in the House who are busy forming caucuses around identity politics. They don’t get her part of America and they aren’t interested. She says that one colleague told her people should just move away.
    .
    .
Ms. Kaptur has watched her beloved Ohio, once the ultimate swing state, become more and more deeply red. The Dems will lose a lot more people if they do not start to listen to, and represent, middle America. They will wish they had first listened to Marcy Kaptur.

My son happened to call to see how I was doing almost immediately after I posted the above and gently straightened me out. I actually thought they had done away with the singing of ‘The national Anthem’, replacing it with another song. I don’t know what I was thinking. They’ve gotten under my skin so to speak, renting space in my head etc.
I know what you’re saying although I’ve come to expect seeing what you say long ago. I thought we were breaking new ground this evening. I was wrong but hey, its still early (kidding).

Ah yes, one of my favorites. Written in 1941 by Dorothy Thompson.

    Who Goes Nazi?

She’s at a dinner party and goes thru all the people with a scalpel, knowing who and exactly why they would go Nazi if the U.S. ever went to war w/Germany.

The same dynamic is in play today w/the ‘progressives’.

    Wonderful read.

Mr. B has risen beyond his real abilities by virtue of health, good looks, and being a good mixer. He married for money and he has done lots of other things for money. His code is not his own; it is that of his class—no worse, no better, He fits easily into whatever pattern is successful. That is his sole measure of value—success. Nazism as a minority movement would not attract him. As a movement likely to attain power, it would.

What happened to the dulcet tones of the ‘lady’ who was the voice of warnings in cockpits? Every fighter jock was trying to find out who she was because of her ‘satin’ voice. Someone finally found out that she was a 68 year old grandma.

    🙂

At least voice commands are better than the host of different clackers, sirens and bells that used to assault your ears. Just when you were attempting to discover what the hell was going wrong the cockpit was filled with mechanical sound distracting one. ……. except Whoop… whoop… pull up … pull up! THAT immediately got out attention.

Even then there were runways in Asia in very steep valleys where crews would pull the Circuit Breaker on warning commands because they were distracting.

Many a fatal accident was caused by crews forgetting to reset those circuit breakers.

    wut?

NEW: The Supreme Court will hear the Caniglia v. Strom case on March 24, 2021, and decide whether police can enter a home to seize guns without a warrant.

The 1st Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the police, stating that they should have the right to seize guns without a warrant in the case of “threats to individual and community safety.”

And, I guess I’m rooting for the team with the racist name over the team with the Trump-loving QB, in a sport that still hasn’t apologized to Colin Kaepernick… #SBLV

yes, that is the hard notion on the police. Their first allegiance is to their job and their leaders. The citizens though not all the time usually come in last.

I think a county with armed citizens with actual life experience and maturity and common sense is heads above a gun controlled community like Chicago.

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) reintroduced the Terror Intelligence Improvement Act to make it harder for suspected terrorists to purchase firearms. The bill would also provide more authority for law enforcement agencies to go after suspected terrorists, while safeguarding law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment and due process rights.

So, you’re an FBI agent who has been investigating a ‘suspected terrorist’. It’s not like there’s going to be an announcement about it in the classifieds or anything because why clue the guy in? Until he goes to buy a gun and finds out he can’t because he’s on a ‘list’. There goes the investigation, Sparky.

The Washington Post logoThe feds say he’s an extremist leader who directed rioters. He also had top-secret clearance and worked for the FBI, attorney says.

Navy veteran Thomas Edward Caldwell led a band of the Oath Keepers extremist group to Washington on Jan. 6 to storm the U.S. Capitol, federal prosecutors allege, helping to mastermind a violent plot to stop lawmakers from certifying Joe Biden’s presidential victory.

But Caldwell’s attorney, Thomas K. Plofchan, says he isn’t just a retired lieutenant commander. Caldwell also had a top-secret security clearance and served as a section chief for the FBI after leaving the armed forces in 2009, Plofchan said.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/the-feds-say-he-e2-80-99s-an-extremist-leader-who-directed-rioters-he-also-had-top-secret-clearance-and-worked-for-the-fbi-attorney-says/ar-BB1dwN8U

I would just note that the process that was actually interrupted was accepting the votes of the state legislatures, which would probably NOT have ‘certified Biden’s presidential victory’. But framing it that way kind of implies motive to these people, doesn’t it?

A Donald Trump story that has some relevance here. As strange as this may sound, I know someone who works with Trump and in early December spent several hours with him in the Oval Office. He had to spend a lot of that time sitting back while Trump dealt with other staff and took phone calls.

At the time, there was an execution scheduled for Brandon Bernard, convicted for the horrific murder of Todd and Stacie Bagley, a young Mormon couple doing missionary work in Texas in 1999. Bernard asked them for a ride, and once in their car drew a gun, robbed them, and forced them into the trunk. He and his gang drove around for a few hours, using their ATM card and trying to pawn her wedding ring. They then executed the couple.

Though Bernard had been on death row for 20 years, as the execution drew near Alan Dershowitz and Ken Starr took an interest in the case. Starr called Trump and asked that he help them get a two-week stay of execution. Trump, who was not conversant with the case, said, “Let me think about it.”

He then called Stacie Bagley’s father. He wanted to speak with him personally. Bagley’s father told him he hadn’t had a decent night’s sleep in the 20 years since his daughter’s murder. He and his family were preparing to travel from Utah to Texas to witness the execution. He prayed it would finally give them some peace.

The reason my friend knew about this was that he was sitting in the Oval Office when Starr called back to see if Trump had made up his mind. Trump said, “I’ve spoken with the father of Stacie Bagley. I’ll tell you what—I’ll give you his number and you can speak with him yourself. If you can persuade him that this execution should be stayed, I’ll see what I can do.”

    Bernard was executed on schedule.

That was Trump. Can you imagine Biden calling the family of a victim? He would think, “Gotta pander to the blacks, better endorse the stay.”

    More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Bernard

Since I heard about this from my friend a few days ago, I’ve told the story to three of my friends, or sort of choked my way through it. As the father of three, it affects me emotionally and I find it difficult to control my feelings when I talk about something like this, especially the part when Trump called the father. Despite all the agit-prop to the contrary, Trump has true empathy. Biden supporters will list “empathy” as one of his greatest virtues. Biden’s empathy is of the words-not-deeds variety, of the sort for which Bill “Maybe you should put some ice on that” Clinton was known.
