Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12

This passage is often known as “The Golden Rule.” This is a simple summary of the entire law of God. Now while it is simple to understand, in practice it is not very simple.
The negative version of this command was known long before the time of Jesus. “You should not do to your neighbor what you would not want him to do to you.”
It is interesting that Jesus put this in the positive and in doing so made it much broader.
It could be said, it is the difference between not breaking traffic laws and doing something positive like helping a person whose car broke down.

What a different world this would be if we followed the golden rule, there would be no cheating, stealing or lying. Even a murderer wants to live. A thief doesn’t want to be stolen from, a cheater hates to be cheated and the liar doesn’t want to be lied to.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
