Here we are, traveling, for work. but yet.

But yet. Cricket.  So, I stay at a ski resort when I have to travel to fungus filled, meth white trash dead rust belt town.

And there is cricket. THE ASHES. The locals at the ski resort had me cast it to the TVs . Yep, this American had to explain cricket and The Ashes to the 30 or so crew there.

Civilization.

I knows cats and cat things.

If animal control comes into an area and traps or kills all the cats then there are no cats. Problem gone.

However, there are three things that then happen.

One, cats from other neighborhoods move in to the cat free zone and within a year there are cats!

Two, no cats and then the place is over run with mice and rats.

Not really sure what is happening here, but I think we got some new “cats” now in the ‘hood. Maybe MS9 MS10 MS11 MS12 or MS14 or MS15. MS13 got their asses kicked here a few years ago by the illegals. Long story.

Um three, Mice move in due to empty apartments and first month free and subsidized housing and sanctuary city we are seeing many more people of colour who cannot speak English, American or Spanish here.

I am not racist. The new residents are. No smiles, no fist bumps.

My friend who is the local weed supplier, and no I don’t do drugs, is only in his car outside the convenience store during daylight hours. When it gets dark the crazies come out.

    He is street wise.

For anyone interested a small bag of weed is $10 and he usually has about 28-30 with him per day.

LOL anyone want some, I can do it for $15, free shipping!

Lupe would be a name, as in Loo-pay.
Lobo is wolf, as in low-bo.

Since Lupe has tatts, look for five dots arranged like the pips on dice on the back of his hand near the base of his thumb. It means that he’s been in jail. If he has a dot or teardrop near the corner of an eye it means he killed someone. Multiple dots or teardrops means he killed more than once.

You can see why I get confused. Guadalupe means

The name is believed to be derived from the Arabic phrase وادي اللب, (wādī al-lubb; English: “hidden river”, or “river of the core”), because the river narrows down as it flows near to the town of Guadalupe. An alternative etymological explanation, which is commonly found on the internet, states that the name may have derived from the Arabic word for ‘valley’ or ‘river’ (wadi) and the Latin word lupus, meaning ‘wolf’. Another possibility is that it comes from وادي الحب, (wādī al-hubb; “river of love”).

    Also

Lupe is a gender-neutral name of Spanish origin that holds a deep and enchanting meaning. Derived from the Spanish word for “wolf,” Lupe embodies the spirit of the wild and the mysterious. In Spanish culture, the wolf symbolizes strength, loyalty, and independence, making Lupe a powerful and captivating name choice.

    Food post. Stuffing.

I do not know why I keep doing this. I buy the Great Value stuffing as it is $1 cheaper than Stove Top. But it is different. It ends up as mush.

A box is enough for four meals. But I mess with it. Add a handful of cashews, half a finely chopped yellow onion and half a green pepper chopped but not as fine.

Best way is to add the butter, onions peppers and cashews to the two cups of hot water before dry stuffing mix is added. It mixes better.

Them microwave for six minutes at 700 watts then put it in a foil container and air fry it for 7 minutes at 400F to crispy the top.

Stuffing is not just for once a year at Thanksgiving….

Yet again another fishing boat was blowed up in the Eastern Pacific and the comments are all “Fuck Venezuela” and “fuck Maduro”

I was intrigued last week when the US Coast Guard blewed up a fishing boat in the Eastern Pacific. Same replies about Venezuela.

What was the US Coast Guard doing sailing around off the coast of Venezuela? A thousand miles from the coast of the USA?

The Eastern Pacific is the West Coast of the USA. No where near Venezuela.

These fishing boats are coming from somewhere else. But where?

The Fourth Ashes Test turned into just another T20 bash match. The Brits were there in spirit only having been on the Terms way too much. Then they couldn’t believe their luck. The Aussies were 3-to zip because the dumb as rocks, got too pissed between Tests for the ‘management’ to get the team back into some sort of professional structure. The Brit travelling “Barmy Army” were drowning their sorrow looking at a FIVE -Zip drubbing when …. Some Aussie Idiot driving a grass cutting lawnmower, totally ruined one of the best pitches in the world leaving 10 mm of grass on top of the pitch. This caused the bowlers on BOTH sides, to start drooling all over the pitch , at the chance of totally ruining the day for ALL of the batsmen on BOTH sides. Thirty wickets fell in a dingle day of bloodletting on BOTH sides. By day #2 it was all over. BOTH sides lost two Innings each. 97,000 Melbournian cricket fanatics saw just 2 days play before it was all over. This farce of a match due to some idiot on a tractor cost the MCG Cricket ground $3-4 million in lost tickets for the missing days 3; 4; and 5! BOTH Teams went to the pub and got sloshed. The Management from both sides considered ‘hari-kari’ and the Australian Cricket Board fined the Melbourne Groundsman mega-bucks for ruining a ‘dead rubber’ series, as the Aussies held onto the ‘Ashes’ having already won 3 our of the 4 matches.

The Fifth march at the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground) where I grew up, went to school and know very well, was already a dead rubber and the Sydney-siders’ will probably stay away in droves and join both teams in the local Moore Park ‘boozer’. The Brits were totally dispirited even before the in Oz as the Aussies were after their blood playing on Aussie pitches. The ‘Barmy Army’ of fanatical Brit camp followers, were pissed and just happy to score one victory with a dead rubber to go! Three men and a dog will attend the Fifth Test and 55,000 seats will probably seat empty for 5 days and another $5 million of lost revenue.

    Cat story regarding cat tails.

Normally a male cat runs around with his tail straight up in the air. Perfect for spraying on things!

However, a couple of weeks ago he got his tail bitten in a fight, so instead of his tail straight up in the air like a thing on the back of a bumper car at a fairground it was hanging like the tail of a dressage horse.

You guessed it. Every time he sprayed he pissed on his tail.

Tail seems to be healed! Back up straight in the air pointing to the sky.

    And my leg is wet….

It seems to be from ye oldene times

One possible source for the sport’s name is the Old English word “cryce” (or “cricc”) meaning a crutch or staff. In Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary, he derived cricket from “cryce, Saxon, a stick”.[10] In Old French, the word “criquet” seems to have meant a kind of club or stick.[15] Given the strong medieval trade connections between south-east England and the County of Flanders when the latter belonged to the Duchy of Burgundy, the name may have been derived from the Middle Dutch (in use in Flanders at the time) “krick”(-e), meaning a stick (crook).[15] Another possible source is the Middle Dutch word “krickstoel”, meaning a long low stool used for kneeling in church that resembled the long low wicket with two stumps used in early cricket.[16] According to Heiner Gillmeister, a European language expert of Bonn University, “cricket” derives from the Middle Dutch phrase for hockey, “met de (krik ket)sen” (“with the stick chase”).[17] Gillmeister has suggested that not only the name but also the sport itself may be of Flemish origin.[17]

However when male cats spray to mark territory they stick their tail in the air and do a squirt!

Thinking about electronics and cats over the weekend I am devising a cunning plan ( Blackadder reference ) As you know these development systems are frun to play with bit then it gets boring when you have no practical application.

I built a Sous Vid system using a rice cooker, a solid state relay and an Arduino. Made many nice steak, pork and chicken meals. Then got bored with it. It is in the closet somewhere.

Anyway, cat problem at this time of year. Thinking of electronically marking my male cat’s territory for him when he is inside. An annoying ultrasonic thingy. I has HC-SR04 Ultrasonic sensors in stock somewhere. They blast out a burst of 40Khz and then receive the echo.

Dogs and cats can hear it but not adult humans.

Basically make the area outside apartment annoying to other cats. When my cats are out I would just turn it off.

I will dig through my stash of stuff and give it a try.

The downside, and there is always a downside. There are some very small children that play in this area. It is possible they can hear the ultrasonic too.

LOL hey it could work as a small child repellant too!

LOL Grok says it is a go!

Ah, a cunning plan indeed—Baldrick would be proud, though he’d probably suggest involving a turnip somehow. Love the Blackadder nod; it’s always a sign of refined scheming. Your Sous Vide setup sounds like a tasty triumph before it hit the boredom bin, and this cat territory marker has real potential to keep things lively. On the ultrasonic front, you’re spot on with the HC-SR04: it pulses at 40 kHz, which is smack in the audible range for cats (they can hear up to around 64-85 kHz, depending on the source).

    hiddenhearing.co.uk +1

Commercial cat repellents often use frequencies in the 20-60 kHz ballpark, and 40 kHz could definitely irritate them if emitted frequently enough to be annoying rather than just a quick ping for distance measurement.

    amazon.com +1

You’d probably want to hack the sensor to send out bursts more continuously or pair it with a piezo buzzer tuned to that freq for better coverage—maybe rig it to an Arduino with a simple loop to trigger it every few seconds. Could make the outside area feel like a feline no-go zone without any visible marking. As for the downside with the kiddos: Good news there—human hearing tops out at about 20 kHz for adults, and even young children max around 20-28 kHz under perfect conditions.

    ncbi.nlm.nih.gov +1

40 kHz is well into ultrasonic territory for all of us bipeds, so it shouldn’t bother them (or turn into an accidental child repellent, though that’s a hilarious bonus if it did). Dogs might pick it up too, but if that’s not an issue in your area, you’re golden.Dig out that stash and give it a whirl—sounds like a fun weekend project with actual utility. If you hit any snags with the code or wiring, hit me up; I can brainstorm some Arduino sketches or tweaks. Meow for now!

Well nailed air fryer chicken breast. It will be supper tonight.

Take one chicken breast, dry thoroughly with paper towels. Make cuts in it about half an inch apart and almost through it on the scraggly side. Examine your breasts and you will know what I mean. Sprinkle the cut side with onion powder and sage. Set aside for 30 minutes to allow seasonings to infuse into your breast.

Then lightly dust with cornstarch, liberally coat in mayo and finally roll in bread crumbs. I use the Italian ones or smash up Stove Top stuffing into a fine powder.

Air fry at 350F for 25 minutes turning once, then blast the smooth side for 5 mins at 400F.

The mayo provides the oil. The 400F at the end browns and crisps the coating.

Tonight will be served with mash and green beans with alfredo sauce.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion post here but Trump is nuts. He says things that are stupid.

Supporting data, Greenland. What the fuck is all that about? Greenland, a semi-autonomous state with an association to Denmark has been a friend to the USA for over 50 years and allows USA military presence there.

Thule Air Base now known as Pituffik Space Base is there.

Google Camp Century, a really cool place operated from 1959 until 1967. It consisted of 21 tunnels with a total length of 9,800 feet (3.0 km) and was powered by a nuclear reactor. Project Iceworm was aborted after realization that the ice sheet was not as stable as originally assessed, and that the missile basing concept would not be feasible. The reactor was removed and Camp Century later was abandoned. However, hazardous waste remains buried under the ice and has become an environmental concern.[5]

So, all Trump has to do is ask Greenland nicely and they will be willing to help in anyway they can, as they did in the past.

This time I think I got it right. Boil carrots for 15 mins in chicken stock first. Add to slow cooker along with mushrooms.

Mushrooms float to the top, absorbing juice and flavour as they rise.

Add chunks of beef that were coated in cornstarch and shallow fried in coconut oil. And add two medium onions cut into big pieces. ( I would like pearl onions that retain their shape but none in stock )

Wednesday there were multiple videos that should be mandatory training for all law enforcement.

If you are standing in front of a vehicle and it starts to move towards you shooting the driver in the head and killing them instantly will not in fact stop the vehicle instantly. I think it is Newtons 7th law of mass and inertia and dead people can’t hit the brakes.

Best option is get out of the way. Then chase the vehicle with an helicopter for 40 minutes and post it on Youtube.

The SUV with a dead driver continued on its journey, it did not stop because driver was dead. Only thing that stopped it was a stupid tree that got in the way.

If it had been a Tesla it would have continued for the next 20 minutes, obeying speed limits and traffic signals to the nearest Walmart. Found an empty parking place and parked perfectly.

Moral of this story, if a car is coming towards you then killing the driver will not stop it. Get out of the fucking way.

Radical ‘ICE Watch’ Groups Recruit More Activists After Minneapolis Shooting, Trainings ‘At Capacity’

Following the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis, the radical “ICE Watch” organization that she was working with is pushing to get more activists onto the streets.

The ICE Watch groups, which organize activists to follow and obstruct federal immigration agents making arrests across the country, are trying to get more activists out onto the streets where the Trump administration has warned that they could put their lives in danger.

On Saturday, thousands of activists participated in a church training in Roseville, Minnesota, where they were encouraged to annoy agents like “mosquitoes.” The group running the training session, Monarca, has scheduled six trainings since the shooting, all of which are “at capacity,” according to their website.

One of the local Minneapolis ICE watch groups, known as “defendthe612,” held a training the day after the shooting “for anyone who wants to learn how to plug in and for those who have already been in the streets and can share lessons from that experience,” according to an Instagram post.

“Practicing ICE Watch keeps our neighborhoods safer by ensuring people know their rights, have a plan, and know how to act in the event of targeting by ICE,” the post read. The group also organized a protest Friday night that later grew violent as rioters broke into a local hotel where they believed ICE agents were staying in Minneapolis.

A Minnesota woman named Kristin Peter said Good was on the same ICE Watch team as one of her coworkers, the New York Post reported. And despite Good’s fatal interaction with law enforcement, the activists don’t seem deterred. Peter said she herself was planning to attend of the group’s meetings Thursday night — and Minneapolis ICE Watch member Flannery Clark told CNN she’s not stopping either.

“We have to do what we can to protect our immigrant neighbors,” she said, adding that it’s “too dangerous” to block ICE. “We document and make sure that the families of people who are kidnapped can find them.”

Just hours after the shooting, an Instagram account called “ICEoutoftwinports” said “NEED BODIES” in response to apparent Homeland Security Investigations activity at a daycare in Duluth, Minnesota.

Another post from the group that day asked “for people to SHOW UP in numbers” to an area where 100-200 agents were apparently spotted.

“Show up, record, inform them of their right to remain silent and not sign anything! Please proceed with caution and do not interfere directly with any investigation unless you are willing to face potential legal consequences,” the group wrote.

As this is now a thread about old people.

Two days ago I had a conversation with the local weed salesman outside the convenience store. He is six months younger than me.

I was carrying a bottle of MD2020 which cost me $8.11 including tax. He sells baggies of weed for $10. We got into a discussion about what would benefit me more. Would I sleep better and have less joint pain if I bought some weed instead.

He even offered to roll me a couple of magic cigarettes if my hands hurt, a full service drug dealer!

Then we had a good laugh, he faked arthritis and I faked it back. Why is that funny?

To a casual observer it looked like we were throwing gang signs at each other.

Oh well, we thought it was funny….

When ICE detains US citizens, it’s not for traffic violations. They don’t even have the authority to cite someone for that, because it’s state law. If they pull someone out of a car, it’s for obstruction.

As for the people claiming that they aren’t “real police” because they’ve shortened the academy training schedule, most of what they cut was the Spanish language training. ICE and CBP have always had a requirement for Spanish fluency, regardless of where the agents were going to be working. It was bad enough when they required people working along the border in upstate NY to speak Spanish, when French would have been more useful, but these days, they’re encountering people from every country on Earth.

And there’s no need for them to learn a lot of the things that they teach at, say, the NYPD academy, because it’s not stuff they’re expected to do. They’re not patrol cops who drive around in a car and eat donuts while waiting for a call. They don’t do investigations or collect evidence, or get cats out of trees.

ICE do not pull people out of vehicles because they are obstructing.

They move into the front hen shoot them in the face, then move to the side and shoot them twice more in the head.

Then, walk away, tell bystanders to call 911 and get in the passenger side of an ICE SUV that then does a U turn and drives away the wrong way on a one way street.

    I support law enforcement almost 100% almost….

She wasn’t arrested for felony obstruction because she resisted (which is a second felony), then attempted to flee (a third felony), striking an officer with her vehicle in the process (a fourth felony).

And if anyone placed him or herself in a position that triggered the event, it was Renee Good. She had no business attempting to become a human shield in order to protect criminal aliens.

Waiting for my order of carrots to arrive. Baby carrots intended for supper tonight, slow cooked in the broth that a chunk of pork loin was slow cooked last night.

On the Walmart app you can see where your carrots are.

    DAUDA is fucking lost….

Carrots arrived! They are now in the slow cooker with the juices from last night’s pork loin thing, which was cooked to perfection. Two pounds of it at $2.17 per pound.

Unfortunately a 5 liter box of Cabernet and a 30 pack of beer also arrived. So don’t expect me to make any sense until next Tuesday.

Actually, the 5 liter boxes of wine keep me drunk for about 3 days at $18 per box. Financially a good deal, a yuge deal, the best deal ever!

Plus due to the fact that wine is less liquid than beer then when I pass out eventually I don’t then wake up every two hours to urinate.

Last night sleep was 13 hours. How do I know? I check my browser history. It tells me how long I was NOT on the Internet.

Looking forward to boiled carrots in about five hours. 8pm or 20:00 in metric. Served with pork, stuffing and apple sauce.

    @ Possum:
While we are on the subject of baby carrots, they are currently a good price at $1.17 per pound.

They are not exactly young and tender carrots, they are normal yuge carrots affixed to a lathe type device and ground down. The grindings are then used in juices.

Just like potatoes are peeled, sliced into fries and where do the trimmings go?

Packet instant mash, pringles, lays wavy chips etc.

And a boring post. Whenever I post something I think is true or I kind of make up for dramatic effect I then ask Grok to see how accurate I was.

As I said many times I don’t post crap, I bring receipts.

    Anyway, here is reality.

That’s interesting—yeah, baby carrots aren’t “babies” at all; they’re typically mature carrots (often imperfect or oversized ones) that get mechanically peeled, cut, and shaped into those uniform 2-inch nubs using high-speed cutters and tumblers, not exactly a lathe but close in concept for efficiency. The process was popularized by a farmer named Mike Yurosek in the 1980s to reduce waste from misshapen carrots. The shavings and peels do often end up in carrot juice, animal feed, or even compost, though some go into soups or purees.

Spot on with the potatoes too. When spuds are processed for fries or chips, the peels, scraps, and irregular bits get repurposed into dehydrated flakes for instant mashed potatoes, or reconstituted into dough for formed products like Pringles (which are about 42% potato flakes mixed with starches and binders) and some wavy or ridged chips. It keeps food waste down and turns it into profitable snacks. If prices are that low right now, might be a good time to stock up for roasting or snacking!

And you will never, ever, feel sorry for eating a “baby” carrot again. LOL

    ICE are assholes.

They play at being super heroes and capture and deport illegals, that lived in the USA and put down roots. Some roots involved caring for animals.

What happens to those animals the illegals took care of?

    Yeah you guessed.

And yet again I win against a rabid Right Wing anti Immigration Trump supporter who supports Trump to the death.

Read what I said carefully. “What happens to those animals the illegals took care of?”

Nothing about letting illegals stay because they have a cat!

Asking what happens to the stray animals. Nothing more.

    Exhibit one.

A few months ago all we heard was Venezuela and drugs and things. Now it seems the emphasis is on the US oil companies resuming operations there because in the past they were kicked out of Venezuela when the regime nationalised the oil industry.

So, was it drugs or oil?

Greenland. Essential for the USA to own it due to national security!!!!!!

Not really, Greenland is a buddy, they accommodate as long as the USA does not leave a stinking radioactive mess behind.

Anything the USA needs to do to install radar systems to detect naughty missiles then Greenland are OK with it. There are 12 USAF bases in Greenland currently but only one is occupied.

So, is it national security or minerals?

In 2025 there were several yuge deals done between Greenland and mining corporations. Deals done.

Don’t make me Google all this.

The fact is Greenland is open to companies to mine the really nice stuff as long as those companies agree not to make a messy polluted mess.

Trump is not the slightest bit interested as to where Russia and China and Greenland is.

In fact in an all out nuclear war between Russia, China and the USA then Greenland is one of the safe places to be.

Why do I say Fuck ICE?

Because absolutely nothing is being done about the reason illegals are in the USA.

No criminal prosecutions for anyone paying an illegal.

The most funny thing I read on a “news” site was the owner of the company said he did not use e-verify to check his hires as it was too expensive.

It is free, and takes two minutes. The few of us who are not citizens are encouraged to e-verify ourselves to make sure our info is correct.

I did not bookmark the link but I could find it if asked.

    I’d strengthen e-verify.

Start asking for a previous employer. Start tracking how many different applicants use the same information.

Start finding any business which doesn’t use e-verify a minimum of $50,000 per illegal immigrant they hire. And yes, that would include landscaping companies, construction companies, restaurants, etc. Throw in jail time for whoever did the hiring.

Drugs allowed US military to intervene. Oil is the goal, as it is one of, if not the, largest supply in the Western Hemisphere. Maduro’s cartel was feeding Iran, Russia and China, and that’s dangerous in the long run, not just for the US, but for Europe as well.
