ahhhhh
new thread smell
As a recognition and with respect to the celebrations for the 250th birthday of the United States of America I will refrain from stinking up this thread.
Except, the United States of America was not actually born in 1776. The initial seeds were planted then but it evolved and grew over time to what it is now in 2026.
Much like a fungus develops from a spore, then over time spreads until it becomes a field of mushrooms.
@ Possum:
And why the fungus and mushroom reference?
Anyone who really knows me will know why.
Groceries arrived. Eggs, Bacon, sausage, tomatoes plus alcohol, and fresh Italian bread.
Oh and mushrooms!. Lunch is as close to a full English breakfast as is legal in the USA. Black pudding is not allowed.
The smell of mushrooms fried in bacon grease inspires my creative writing…
Add the three flags that are out of view on the far side of the baby buggy and the total number of flags is 13. Mom was clever.

That’s machine oil from our new microwave I bought a couple weeks ago.
Button mushrooms are quartered and chunks of fake crab all in a ziplock bag with some crushed garlic, sage and onion powder.
After a few hours some coconut oil will be added.
Why wait a few hours before adding the oil you may ask?
Well when the oil coats the mushrooms and fake crab the seasonings do not penetrate the food.
The fake crab and mushrooms will then be combined with chopped onions, frozen peas and fried together in a skillet until tender.
Now the next part is not certain yet. When it is cooked ramen noodles could be added, or uncle bens veggy rice.
Or, and this has happened in the past, the mushrooms, fake crab, onions and peas get a generous helping of alfredo sauce and served over fresh Italian bread, toasted and buttered. Or over a bed of fries.
Why the fuck do I bother cooking?
@ Possum:
And as usual I posted the above to Grok to see what a machine that does not have a mouth, taste buds or even eats anything to see what it thought.
Interesting it seemed to go for the alfredo route with no pasta. I actually also like the alfredo with stuff served on toast.
Also notice when I post an F bomb to it it replies back with profanity and even adds “turning random fridge shit into something hot and customized”
LOL fridge shit indeed!
As a gourmet chef I cheat and microwave the onions I chop up to include in a stir fry meal for about 3 minutes in a film covered bowl to cook them and get them soft.
It gives them a head start, the rest of what I cook in a stir fry just needs heating and browning.
This latest batch of yellow onions survives microwaving for over 4 minutes, then stir fried and they are still raw and crunchy!
Kind of not complaining but. Why are these onions different?
@ Possum:
I got the answer.
They are storage onions. Much less water content and genetically engineered to survive global nuclear conflict.
Oh I made the last part up.
If USPS delivers a dragon tomorrow I have it all planned.
I have clean clothes ready. I will then get in an Uber to the place where I last got a haircut on March 2nd 2023. since then I have been cutting my own hair.
How do I know the last time I got my hair cut? It was the day I went to get my driver licence renewed so Walmart would deliver beer. You need valid ID
Then from there I will deliver the slain dragon on the doorstep of the maiden then Uber to the Kroger just half a mile away to stock up on meat.
And use the ATM so I can buy lottery tickets again. Local ATM got robbed and not replaced.
I have a wonderful plan. A haircut and meat!
Saving the maiden is well low on the list.
@ Possum:
Heb has much better meat. google where it is. It should be on the way home.
@ Possum:
Still no end in sight to this quest.
We will have to see what happens Monday.
PS that mushrooms, peas, onions, fake crab and alfrado thing is the dogs bollocks, as we say in England.
@ Possum:
Or the cat’s whiskers.
The English have some strange sayings.
@ Possum:
So do cats. It won’t shut up about the fireworks even though I’ve scratched it’s neck four times now. He’s just about maxxed out his skritchy card for the day.
Happy 50th Anniversary of the Bicentennial
LOL the news coverage of the New York fly past of aircraft from the USA and a few other countries is crap.
The finale of the show was the very best representation of the American flag I have seen. Normally the jets just trail red, white and blue stripes.
However, one team did blue, blue, blue, blue, red, white, red, white, red.
Looking from below they nailed the flag symbolism using nine aircraft.
The comments on X are all ” wow, patriotic, awesome etc ”
Very little is mentioned who the aircraft were….

The demands for slavery reparation are getting beyond ludicrous.
Barbados wants nearly $5 trillion, there’s supposedly some mental case who thinks blacks are owed $130 quadrillion in compensation for slavery.
When the Democrats start pushing for that, and they will, any kind of future foreign age should completely be eliminated. Any kind of government assistance should be permanently ended.
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
Well I am hoping for the best tonight as to fireworks and not expecting any.
There is no American citizen within a three mile radius of where I live.
Sunday night however may be traumatic here. Mexico plays England in the football World Cup.
Possum wrote:
Last portion to be eaten for lunch. Not on toast or fries but with a nice healthy lettuce, tomato, cucumber and avocado salad.
Yeah I know it sounds gay. But what I do behind closed doors stays behind closed doors.
@ Possum:
Did you see that the team from Mexico got penalized because their fans yelled at the Guyana(?) goal keeper? The media says they chanted a “homophobic slur”.
They chanted “¡PUTO! ¡PUTO! ¡PUTO!”
It’s an insult that means a male whore. BFD.
Just survived 5 hours of listening to four women talk about inane trivialities. You ever see that scene from All In The Family where Edith goes on a chatter trip and Archie pulls out an invisible revolver and plays Russian Roulette? That was me.
4:41am here and they are still dong the fireworks thing.
Cats no longer care, actually I had to move her fat ass off the mouse mat to post this.
Now I so not see sparkly things in the sky. Sounds more like artillery fire, or mortar.
I hope it is just a gang fight between MS13 and trent de agula. Or whatever the other gang is called.8
@ Possum:
Our stray seemed more puzzled than afraid, wasn’t hunkered down in the bushes. Fire works began sporadically late afternoon, and when a big one would go off the cat came to the door: “Holy fuck! Did you hear that one?!”
We saw ‘Young Washington’ yesterday.
Two thumbs up.
Mexico just lost 2 3 to England in the World Cup knockout stages.
Aw shit.
( Filling the bath tub with instant coffee granules and going to jump in for a three hour full body soak )
As to the quest.
The fair maiden is riding my ass so hard to deliver the sacred object that my back is sore and I am going to order a saddle.
Hopefully USPS will deliver the object of her desire Monday. Then I can complete the quest and concentrate on that Rapunzel chick, 22 years old, blue eyes, long blond hair and locked in a tower.
Also, the other object or the quest, the dragon, was supposed to be delivered today but due to unforeseen circumstances it is delayed.
On a totally different topic. Brooklyn Bridge caught fire.
https://x.com/ScooterCasterNY/status/2073580011894747143
Well for the extremely limited USA only audience let me educate you.
The Blue Angels are impressive. The Thunderbirds equally so.
They use current state of the art, fly by wire supersonic capable aircraft. The only modification they have to a front line fighter is a squirty diesel tank in the ass end that makes smoke.
They fly fast and in close formation and make a lot of noise.
The Red Arrows use small trainers. Hawk T1 to be precise which got retired years ago, they are small, agile and can do stuff the F16s cannot.
That is why the Red Arrows use them! The flyover thing in New York was really boring for the team. They nailed the flag but routine.
I was looking for a video of the Reds where they added the radio transmissions but this jumbled mess is all I found.
Anyway due to the differences in aircraft used the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds can’t do this.
Red Arrows, 2025. A boring 20 minute video.
The first ten minutes is the signature formation flying. The second half is when it goes nuts.
You can tell when the fun is going to start. Count the aircraft, nine, nine, nine, seven, um five? ” where the fuck did the others go? ”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xkZQMHX_vk
@ Possum:
I see that Immelmann turns are still in vogue.
I understand the Blue Angels and the Thunderbird displays are different to the Red Arrows because of the aircraft used.
What is not generally known is the Red Arrow’s pilots are front line combat aircraft pilots on a secondment to the display team.
Much like the guards on horses and the ones standing very still and being tormented by tourists are actually real trained killers.
@ Possum:
Horses are very effective crowd control. Saw one surrounded in a protest, guy in front got knee-ed out of the way. He rolled a few times.
Still at it. The red white and blue half way through the flypast in New York was the French. Fucking boring, just red white blue smoke.
The ending, the finale, the final thing, the best fucking thing I ever saw from any aircraft using diesel mixed with dye was the ending.
That was, well google it.
I will go to bed in a while but bed is currently occupied by a cat. A cat running through the jungle in a primitive forest chasing antelopes and squirrels and mice.
Nothing gives ne more pleasure than when one of my cats is safe and in a deep sleep.
Supper is ground beef, onions, green peppers onion salt, sage and smoked paprika all stirred up in a skillet. A perfect base for tacos!
Fuck the foreign shit. I am English. It is going to be served on a bed of chips ( French fries in American ) with a side of sour cream mixed with mint sauce.
I know how to survive in a hostile and foreign land.
@ Possum:
It was not nice, took a few mouthfuls and then threw it away.
Not everything Lucy cooks is edible.
Fortunately we have two peaches in stock.
@ Possum:
Red Arrows & Snowbirds-graceful
Thunderbirds & Blue Angels- raw power
Newport Beach CA survived their first takeover, orchestrated on TikTok. The crowd make up was mixed. The people who looted the Pavillions grocery store were primarily black, so they likely came in from Long Beach / L.A. The latinks factor came from inland, likely San Bernadino / Riverside. Redneck kids came in from Scottsdale AZ. A large number were described as “Edgars”, and I had to look up the term.
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Edgar
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
We used to have an office where Balboa Blvd. and Newport Blvd. merge on the peninsula. It was on the 2nd floor, over Jack’s Surfboards, and had a big window overlooking a parking lot below. Summer was always fun, watching girls change into beach clothes in their cars, unaware that we could see everything.
Possum wrote:
So someone’s getting an iguana. Cool.
right_wing2 wrote:
Yes, the displays are different. all teams use the features of the aircraft they fly.
As you know I may have a patriotic bias towards the Red Arrows.
I stated before that the first ten minutes of a full display is graceful formation flying and then the last half of the display it gets nuts.
A video of them does not really show what is happening as the camera only has one eye. Them little fucking jets go in different directions without smoke and, well they do the wild shit.
LOL It still amazes me how they all find each other, get back in formation at the end.
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
Walmart lost the Dragon. It was due Sunday.
Possum wrote:
When eating the second half of the ground beef, onions, salsa etc realized what was wrong.
Before I was using alfredo instead of salsa to provide the wetness.
Both times I added a peeled and chopped up slim jim to the ground beef. Like adding chopped pepperoni.
It works great with an alfredo sauce. With salsa it is nasty.
Even I learn new things…
OK who subscribed me to this junk mail? I will get revenge!
Licensed Biohazard Cleanup.
Yeah I know the kitchen and bathroom may need some work, but biohazard?
@ Possum:
I have an Official Biohazard Disposal Bag (OBDB), given to me by one of the pretty nurses at the clinic. It was to be used in case my Poison Pump (PP) started leaking.
Sorry to hear about the lost Dragon.
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
Yeah me too.
The stuffed dragon was to be a light hearted funny when delivering documents crucial in a law suit.
And to ad to the pain, USPS failed to deliver those documents also.
I can understand why people go nuts now.
There is no way to fight the system.
Adopting a dog.
No fucking way!
Anyway as to ownership of the dog it does not matter who actually paid the adoption fee but whos name is on the paperwork according to Texas law
A cat post.
Glen was being a pain in the ass so I sprinkled catnip on his treats.
Now he is doing the zombie in the kitchen.
I am a bad cat person…

Quest completed at 8:34am Central.
As my trusty steed would not get out of bed I had to use Uber, cost me just short of $70 including tips. Had to take two, one there and one back.
Now, there are some of you that may say it would have been cheaper to rent a car for a day. But I have not driven one since May 2020 when the one I had caught fire. So I am out of practice.
But as the saying goes ” once you learn to ride a bike you never forget! ”
One small problem with relying on basic instincts learned in youth.
I would end up on the wrong side of the fucking road, and not playing that game in Central Houston during rush hour.
Excellent analysis of the NYC construction failure, with pictures. [thread]

Watching a crap B type TV show series and they keep saying ” Fire at Will ”
I don’t know what Will did wrong.
LOL still watching the B rated movie show. The 100
Occasionally they have the actors doing the nasty, no full frontals and boobies.
The camera is always taking wonderful videos of the ladies spine.
A perfect spine is a wonder to behold. LOL
Actually Sandra Bullock did a movie where she was totally naked and the cameraman concentrated on her back as she walked into the shower.
Spine 10/10
Ass a 8/10
I am a spine fetishist.
A cat post as what I am currently watching has no spines. Well there was one but it was heavily tattooed.
That is as bad as a lady with a nice bottom putting her cell phone in her back pocket. Anyway I digress.
Cats. Thank you to whoever introduced me to Bonkers Purr Pops. They are a lollipop treat for cats.
The marketing says your cat will lick these treats, purr and bond with you.
Anyway I must get Lucy to make a video of Natasha licking one of these lollipop treats.
Currently her best time is just under 15 seconds.
It is lick, lick, bite, chomp, chomp, and what is left that falls of the stick is gone in an instant.
Although they do not live up to the marketing hype they are still a very short lived human/cat bonding experience.
As to the knight thing and quests I am done. Not even the long haired blonde blue eyed chick can get me to do another quest.
So, I am putting my sword, my armour and jousting stick for sale on Ebay.
However, I am keeping my cod piece. It is snuggly, warm and comforting.
Why do I get my best ideas at 3:29am when nobody is awake?
I think it is a biological never adjusting to time zones.
LOL It is breakfast time in England.
Law is interesting. I should have been one. However all of my clients would have ended up on death row because I am not good at it.
But when studying the law for the last few weeks there are more holes in it than a 93 year old woman’s attempt to crochet a red, white and blue blanket.
The key is to find the hole.
Mushrooms arrived!
So did a plump loaf of Walmart Italian bread. We already have bacon, beef patties, lettuce, onions and tomatoes in stock.
And wine….
Chances of the best burger ever made by a drunk English man for lunch is currently at about 64% on most Internet betting sites.
However, I am not risking any money. Things change rapidly here.

@ Possum:
Whoever bet on the wonderful burger lost their money.
Bacon was cooked to perfection then mushrooms sliced and fried in the bacon fat.
However meal ended up being cheese and pickled beetroot sandwiches.
LOL now we have cooked bacon and fried mushrooms in the fridge yelling ” eat us! ”
Nope, chopped onions, peas and mushrooms and fake crab in an alfredo sauce is currently in progress. Served with heavily buttered toasted, fluffy, Walmart Italian bread.
But that may change as I spotted a can of Chef Boyardee Lasagna on the shelf.
Cant wait to move into an old peoples home where you just eat what they feed you. No cooking, no thinking.

I’m rather glad to see them go. Too many older political leader are in power in the USA. Too many are set in their ways. Many of them need to retire, and make way for fresh faces & new ideas. There is a rising sentiment for those who are retirement age, to be prohibited from public office.

Sandra Bullock is a work of art in human form.

I could tag the news outlets on X that are telling us scary weather bews but, Lucy will not let me.
Don’t trust weather reports posted by local TV stations on X. A few days ago one posted scary weather radar that was over a day old.
Currently telling us severe rain and thunderstorms!
If you want to know what the weather is, get a cat. Cats know whether it is raining or not.

Groceries arrived. This getting deliveries is OK but.
The complaint I have about Walmart is they trim too much fat of the meat. My family pack of boneless pork chops has almost no fat on them at all.
Only way I can get pork with a thick layer of fat is order a 4+ pound bone in picnic roast or shoulder then risk loosing fingers carving it up before cooking.
Oh well. At least if that is my only problem in life I should be thankful.
Bunkessa joined a roller derby team – The Clumpers.
They have a match next week that will be “televised” on Utoob. I’ll post a link.
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
Finally something interesting to look forward to on that youtube thingy.
LOL was playing with Grok and going sideways at it.
Was discussing digital computers and saying no matter how fast they were they could not beat an analog computer for a specific task.
Then we got onto a hybrid system where a digital computer set the input parameters to an analog machine. And it played along.
Then I told it we are developing a perfect hybrid missile guidance system and Grok shut me down and got nasty!
LOL Grok has boundaries it will not cross.
@ Possum:
And for fun I asked Microsoft about the above post. It is a long reply.
Now I have one AI criticizing another. The Internet version of a catfight.
If I was really bored I would feed the Copilot reply back to Grok and let them fight it out!
LOL I need to get a hobby…
not that it means anything
i heard a rumor
out west where the rich elites have their compounds and bunkers
there has been a massive influx of private jets to the small private airfields
could this be related to trumps speech tomorrow?

Friend on the Xwitter posted a gruesome photo of the necrotizing fasciitis that’s been eating his leg for 2 years, and he was looking for alternative treatments. As expected, Grok balked at giving medical suggestions; I don’t blame Grok, but I tried.
@ Bunk Five Hawks X:
To Grok’s credit, he did advise seeing a doctor ASAP.
Duh.

You can get some great answers from AI as they are really fast and accurate search engines if you approach them with “sensitive” topics sideways if you see what I mean.

True America and integration of all peoples and races.
In this world skin colour does not matter!
Why do I say this? Today it was pissing down with rain, quite refreshing actually, when I walked to the store to get smokes.
The local weed sales person in the store parking lot offered to give me a ride back home because of the storm. I declined, was nice to walk in the cool rain.
We were not the same colour.
