Casting Out Fear Part 1

By: Dr. David Jeremiah – Turning Point

(1 John 4:17-19)
(17)  In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that as He is, so also we are in this world.
(18)  There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love.
(19)  We love Him because He first loved us.

(2 Chronicles 20:15)
And he said, Listen, all Judah, and you people of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat! So says Jehovah to you, Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

(Isaiah 12:2)
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation.

This is a message that I needed to hear again, for the first time. And I will need to hear this many times again, ‘cause I am a forgetful person when it comes to things such as this.  For some reason when I hear this “For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15), I get the idea that I don’t have to do anything. I can just sit back and watch. Well I couldn’t be more wrong. I have to fight the battle, but I can fight that battle knowing that Almighty God is in control. Now that gives my assurance.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
