ACORN Sting Filmmaker Arrested at Sen. Landrieu’s Office
US News | Tue, Jan 26, 2010 at 2:05:27 pm PST
Conservative activist James O’Keefe, who posed as a pimp in the infamous ACORN sting videos, has been arrested in New Orleans in what appears to be an attempt to wiretap the office of Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu.
He quotes the left-wing Atlantic saying the following:
FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O’Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office’s telephone system.
Interestingly the Atlantic article quoted has an update:
According to several news outlets, a law enforcement official says O’Keefe wasn’t trying to bug Landrieu’s office, but rather to see how staffers would react if phones weren’t working.
But there’s no update at Johnson’s site. What there is is this oblique reference two days later:
Video: Breitbart on MSNBC
US News | Thu, Jan 28, 2010 at 4:04:41 pm PST
Here’s MSNBC’s latest update on the case of James O’Keefe, arrested in the office of Sen. Mary Landrieu, featuring Andrew Breitbart defending himself and O’Keefe.
Excuse me, that’s not a retraction, and that’s not an update. First of all, you have to click the link to the video to even see what’s being said. Secondly, while the original statement was rather clear that law enforcement was alleging wiretapping, this statement is completely sanitized. It’s not a retraction of the earlier claim. Coward.

It looks like Johnson isn’t the only one acting in bad faith when it comes to “correcting” this story. Great company you keep there, Johnson. Rather’s old outfit. It appears that even they are trying to correct their errors, even though they don’t seem to be in any hurry.
