My favorite place in the whole world when I was a kid was Disneyland. From the time I was 2 years old in 1963 till I got out of high school, Mom and Dad used to take us there 3 times a year. We lived in the San Fernando Valley and from there to Anaheim is 38 miles so it was easy to get to.

It was a really cool place to go to as a kid.

The following videos are of vintage footage of when Walt was building Disneyland in the mid 1950’s. The park was dedicated on July 17, 1955 for the press and the place opened to the public on July 18th.

Here are a couple other sites which may be of interest to you.

Vintage Disneyland Tickets A great site that a guy ‘who got his own blog’ put together with vintage tickets and stuff.

Yesterland Another site from a guy that is into Disneyland big time. This site is fantastic!

The previous two sites are extensive and I think they are a great archive for historians of all things Disney.

Enjoy!

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
