This is my post election analysis about last night elections. I speak for myself and not the blog.

This was a clear rejection of Tranzi Totalitarian  Progressivism and not an embrace of the Republicans. Many of the districts won were in Republican hands until 2006 and 2008. In those elections, the electorate rejected big Government Compassionate Conservatism and voted for fiscal conservative Blue Dogs. As it turns out, the Democrats pulled a fast one on the electorate and their real masks were revealed. This angered the public and they Republicans were given another chance. They better stick to real conservatism not the compassionate big spending kind  or in 2 years a 3rd party will emerge.

Sarah Palin is no king maker and doesn’t have much clout with the voting public. In her own home state of Alaska, her candidate for Senate Joe Miller is trailing write candidate and current Senator Lisa Murkowski. Christine O’Donnell was defeated by admitted Marxist Chris Coons. A hard core Social Conservative will NOT win in Delaware. Christine didn’t fit the nature of the state and Palin’s support of her, cost the GOP a senate seat. At the same time, members of the Republican establishment shouldn’t have piled on Christine. Although not a major factor, it didn’t help. Her I’m not a witch commercial was the dumbest one I have ever seen. She was an amateur and became a caricature that the Left Alinskyied. These factors are why a Marxist is now a Senator.

In Nevada another Palin candidate, Sharron Angle lost to Harry Reid, who is massively unpopular. This is another  case where the candidate didn’t fit the electorate. Her hard core Social stances turned off voters and they voted for what they perceived as the lesser of evils. Republicans in Nevada are Social Libertarians with a live and let live attitude. Also her ads depicting Illegals as Hispanic criminals resulted in her under performing among Hispanic voters when compared to Brain Sandoval. The issue should be framed as one of legality and fairness to the legals. It should not be an anti-Hispanic cultural issues a. As a result of Angle’s lousy campaign, Harry Reid is back in the Senate.

Marco Rubio serves as an example of how to discuss the illegal issue in a way, that appeals to Hispanics. It should be discussed as one of fairness. Why should people who cross the border of overstay a visa get rewarded for law breaking while people who wait 10-15 years (Unless it’s from an Islamic country), have to follow the rules. It’s not fair and this is the argument that should be made. The GOP should  create resentment among legals towards illegals immigrants. Divide and conquer is the way to go, not Hispanophobia.

The Tea Party had a great night except for some Senate candidates like O’Donnell and Angle who in reality are not really  in the spirit of the Tea Party. They used the label to appear as tea partiers when in reality they were hard core Social Conservatives. The Tea Party movement is Libertarian in nature. It’s about fiscal responsibility, economic opportunity and Constitutionalism. The movement is not about Gay Marriage, abortion or imposing one’s religious views on the nation. Tea Party candidates who stuck to real message like Rand Paul won, those who used to label to promote their social views like O’Donnell lost. Speranza, Coldwarrior, Carolina Girl, Vagabond Trader and I lived or live in Blue or Purple states. Hard core Social Conservatism is a loser in those states and we have been trying to explain this on the blog. The GOP needs to stick to economic issues in these regions of the country.

California is a lost cause to the Republicans. Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina were the perfect candidates for that state. Yet California is so far Left now, that the GOP is done as a party there. It’s not worth fighting for and that state should not expect the rest of the nation to save them. No offense to any Californian here, but the state made its bade so now sleep. Let them enjoy their 3rd World style Marxist regime of that once great state. This is not the California of Nixon and Reagan, it is now the state of Karl Marx.

The big question is now, what will Obama do? Will he move to the center in the wake of the massive Republican win in the House like Bill Clinton did in 1995? Or will he stick to his Progressive agenda and engage in 3rd World stale demagoguery? His decision will determine the 2012 race.

As for the 2012 Republican candidates, none of the current crop are up to the task. Mitt Romney is a Bush type elitist Progressive Republican who would be a perfect straw man for Obama to crush. Mike Huckabee is a progressive with a Bible who is an advocate of social justice. Him and Obama would argue over who is more leftist and that favors the President. Sarah Palin is unpopular with the voting public and is damaged goods. She should stick to rallying the base and maybe even head the RNC. Newt Gingrich has ideas but has baggage and is damaged goods. To defeat Obama the republicans need a smart and charismatic individual who can go toe to toe with Obama. The problem is the one Republican who could, just won his first federal election last night and needs more experience. In short, let’s hope someone unexpected comes along who can defeat Obama. How does Donald Trump sound?

Let’s have a blog discussion and share our analysis on this.

Please let’s be civil about this!.

*Coldwarrior update: In my opinion the biggest win last night was all of the state’s that went for Republican governors and houses. This group will do the redistricting based on the census data. Gerrymanders like this will go away. This factor changes the political landscape in the house and state bodies for the next 10 years. *

Rodan Update: Iron Fist has a spot on analysis!

That means developing a strategy to find rather than reject the next Marco Rubio or Nicki Halley, ideally to find many of them, and bring them to the forefront. This will mean passing over Establishment Republicans who are “next in line”. They need to suck it up and remember that they are our servants, not our masters.
