New from Ronco! “Kitten in a Pipe”

(h/t: Blazing Cat Fur and Love Meow)

Redding Fire Department #1 – Kitten Rescued

Kitten stuck in length of 2 inch pipe. Citizen dropped off the pipe at Redding Fire Station #4. See video #2 for details of rescue.

Redding Fire Department #2 – Kitten Rescued

City of Redding employees Ralph White and Gary Brown assist Redding Fire Department employees Mike Anderson and John Clark (cameraman) with removing a kitten which was stuck in a length of 2 inch pipe. See video #3.

Also, the plan was to cut the pipe in the area of kitten’s neck. As you know, mother cats pick up and carry their kittens using the skin above the neck. I slid a tape measure into the pipe until it touched the kitten’s nose. I then marked the outside of the pipe at 13 inches and then added 3 more inches and marked it again. Ralph and Gary made the cut at 16 inches and removed the pipe. Using the skin above the neck, I gently tugged to remove the kitten.

Thanks for all of the positive comments and support. Piper is doing fine and was adopted by a production manager at KRCR TV here in Redding, Ca.

What you didn’t see in the video is that Piper had an infection in the left eye and was covered with rust dust and dirt. After the bath, she was clean and warm.

Redding Fire Department #3 – Kitten Rescued

Kitten is doing fine. We gave it a bath and made a nice warm bed for it to sleep in. Cat is a female and we named it Piper 🙂

Cat Gets Caught Barking – Resumes Meowing

(h/t: Kirly)

YouTube: Cat gets caught barking by a human and resumes meowing

“WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF woof… woof…I mean… Meow MEOW MEOW!” Have you ever seen anything like this before?
Oh dear, it looks like Mr. Cat was caught in the act of trying to scare away the neighbor’s dog! We think this little guy deserves an award for his imitating skills!
