As some readers may already know, 1389AD has lived full time in an RV for a decade. Along with providing companionship, El Gato and La Gata do a great job of keeping the mice away from all parts of the RV to which they can gain access. Unfortunately, there was a small cubbyhole that the felines couldn’t get to, which contained a Cat6 Ethernet cable. Guess what…mice managed to get in there and gnawed the connectors, destroying the cable. Oh well, stuff happens…
If you store your RV when it is not being lived in, you will need to make sure that rodents, including squirrels, don’t gnaw your wiring. Rodents can often get at wires on your RV’s undercarriage, which is exposed to the outdoors. Taking the RV on the road, and cleaning and inspecting the interior and exterior frequently, helps to keep it clear of pests and other problems that could cause deterioration. The best way to keep an RV in good condition is to use it regularly.
