The Great American Race got rained out yesterday, so they will run it today.

Trump owned it yesterday. The lap in the Beast was perfect.

A victory lap as it were.

It’s an open

Trump got the same crowd reception that he got at the Army/Navy Game, very upbeat.
I doubt that a lot of libs were watching, but if they were the would conclude that there are more of us than there are of them.

Virginia Lawmakers Reject Assault Weapons Ban

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s push to ban the sale of assault weapons has failed after members of his own party balked at the proposal.

Senators voted to shelve the bill for the year and ask the state crime commission to study the issue, an outcome that drew cheers from a committee room packed with gun advocates.

Four moderate Democrats joined Republicans in Monday’s committee vote, rejecting legislation that would have prohibited the sale of certain semiautomatic firearms, including popular AR-15 style rifles, and banned the possession of magazines that hold more than 12 rounds.

The bill was a top priority for Northam, a Democrat who has campaigned heavily for a broad package of gun-control measures.

These slack CCP bastards can’t even manage to keep their pet pathogens in a bottle.

Now they’ve accidentally let it loose on their own population and it’s a very difficult virus to put back into the bottle.

That study is not being accepted. I’ve already posted about it, it’s being trashed from one end to the other.

At the very least, the model for this virus is engineered, I don’t think anyone has doubted that. Somehow it got to a bat (probably)

Also, I also posted an abstract of a paper by several scientists, one of whom is Zhing-li somebody from the Wuhan lab on how they worked on this virus and how infectious it is. The lab wasn’t specified in the abstract, but I think it’s in Canada. If there were a way to search this site by poster’s name, I’d find it again. It was in Nature/medicine and it was in 2015 (I think)

I just witnessed an epic setup and take down. A new user showed up in a veteran FB group a couple of days ago and started posting pro Trump memes. The lefties attacked in their usual shrieking harpy manner, dissing Trump, attacking the poster, anyone who defended Trump, all the usual name calling and reporting the user to the page admin. A little while ago the ‘new user’ announced that he actually was the page owner/admin and thanked them for revealing themselves for easy removal from the group. It was a brilliant way to expose them and clean them out, just as election season is getting started off. I’m still laughing.

It’s a page for folks who were stationed at RAF Lakenheath in England. The owner set it up several years ago and made it a closed group a couple of years ago. There were a few lefties that spouted off any time Trump was mentioned. I guess he got tired of it and decided to draw them all out of the woodwork so he could get rid of them before the election cycle gets into full swing. I suppose he decided to nip it in the bud as it were.

Of course the virus is engineered. The sudden appearance of separate and different HIV components appearing in the four ports of the Crrone virus structure making it able to attach to human cells and thus infect those cells is a million to one chance. Zhing admitted as much and was using research into bat partial immunity to the effects of the virus as a way forward. The circumsu=tances of how the bat population passed the modified virus onto the local wild bat population and how those bate ended up in the Wuhan ‘wet market’ is yet to be discovered.

You’re correct that the original research was stolen by the Chinese from a Canadian lab.

This is a Home Goal if there ever was one.
It’s common knowledge that the Chinese labs have been trying for years to get a racially specific pathogen. So far unsuccessfully. These idiots are capable of anything and mixed with their sloppy lab habits it makes them very dangerous

An elite hacker network sponsored by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) stole the personal data, including telephone numbers, credit card details, and passwords, of over 13 million people in Britain.

The Chinese reportedly sponsored a 2017 cyberattack on Equifax, a top consumer credit reporting agency. It was described by the United States as the largest database hack in history, with over 145 million Americans being affected — and it has now been revealed millions in the United Kingdom were impacted as well.
Equifax said that the personal data of at least 13.1 million Britons was compromised in the hack as their data was stored on their servers in Atlanta, Georgia.
The hack was conducted by four members of the People’s Liberation Army’s cyber-espionage unit, dubbed the “54th Research Institute”, Wu Zhiyong, Wang Qian, Xu Ke, and Liu Lei — all of whom were indicted by the United States Justice Department on Monday.

Sen. Tom Cotton who is on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, has again raised concerns about the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory while appearing on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox News.

“Now, we don’t have evidence that this disease originated there, but because of China’s duplicity and dishonesty from the beginning we need to at least ask the question,” Cotton said of the lab.

The National Biosafety Laboratory is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is classed “Cellular Level Biosafety Level 4” – meaning it works on the most dangerous pathogens, like Ebola.

“This virus did not originate in the Wuhan animal market,” he said.

In response, Cotton doubled down on his claims, saying: “It’s not a ‘theory’ and certainly not a ‘conspiracy theory,’ but rather a hypothesis.”

“But given the CCP’s ongoing dishonesty, we have to examine the hypothesis and demand the evidence,” he added, referring to the Chinese Communist Party.

Suspicion over the origins of the coronavirus comes as China continues to search for a cure, and faces accusations that it had suppressed information about the virus. When the SARS coronavirus broke out in China in the early 2000s, the government initially covered it up.

Cotton’s theory has already been thoroughly debunked by multiple scientists.

“There’s absolutely nothing in the genome sequence of this virus that indicates the virus was engineered,” Richard Ebright, a professor of chemical biology at Rutgers University.

“The possibility this was a deliberately released bioweapon can be firmly excluded.”

(Okay Dick, what is your evidence to make that statement?)

Vipin Narang, associate professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said it was “a skip in logic to say it’s a bioweapon” or claim China “developed and intentionally deployed, or even unintentionally deployed” the virus.

(Okay Vippy….what is your evidence to support your statement??)

CNN’s Jake Tapper also quoted an unnamed healthcare expert as saying Cotton’s theory was nonsense.

(Oooo….an “ nnamed” expert!…..and via CNN, no less…..well then, this MUST be factual!!)

“The rumour is circulating but there is no evidence to date that this is true,” the expert said, according to Tapper.

“Hopefully the WHO team will get the samples from the original cases and we will be able to figure this out. Until then, I put it in the conspiracy theory bucket.”

This would be the same WHO that praised China for their (non) actions regarding Coronavirus and castigated any country that stopped flights by Chinese nationals.
The same WHO that has NEVER recommended….EVER….that travel be curtailed to stop ANY pathogens.
    Yeah, that WHO.
The unelected bureaucrats that will get the bulk of there money from the Chinese now that Trump is curtailing dough to the UN.

Differing expectations of what a future trade deal should look like will leave the UK and EU ripping each other apart at the negotiating table, a suggestion the British government has denied as overcomplicating matters.

French foreign minister and close ally to President Emmanuel Macron, Jean-Yves Le Drian, said on Sunday that “everyone is going to defend their interests” in the coming trade negotiations, but clearly signalled that the national interests of the different parties would lead to fractious negotiations.
The statesman said: “I think that on trade issues or on the measures for our future relationship that we are going to discuss, we are going to start on, we are going to rip each other apart.
“But that is part of the negotiation. Everyone is going to defend their interests.”
While the United Kingdom technically departed the European Union at the end of January 2020, it continues to trade as a full member of the Union and follow the bloc’s rules for as long as it remains in the so-called transition period. This means in practice, it is unlikely Britain will actually become an independent nation until the end of December 2020, although there is a mechanism to extend the period even further.
European leaders want to keep the United Kingdom tied as closely as possible to the European Union, forcing it to accept the continuing supremacy of EU rules in return for maintaining the status quo on cross-border trade, or something close to it. The problem faced by the British government is continuing to accept EU rules in return for trade means Britain will never really leave the European Union.
How’s that old Eagles song go?….

    but you can never leave”

maybe we should send him a copy of that Nature abstract. I suspect a bat got out of the lab. That’s the simplest explanation. There’s no implied nefarious intent in the fact it was ‘engineered’ – that’s what these places do, in order to develop counter-measures.

You should see the fight coming up over the fishing rights. The French have threatened to use their navy in English waters or something. They’ve all lost their minds. I suspect the real issue is the EU is worried about other countries wanting to leave (Italy would be my first guess). The Brits may not have much of a navy left, but I think it would behoove the French to recall Dunkirk.

You’re doubly correct. It was engineered and yes it was probable that sloppy lab procedures allowed a bat infected with this strain of the virus to escape and spread the pathogen to wild bats who eventually ended up in the Wuhan ‘wet market’.

The British fishing fleet operates mostly in the North Sea and their competitors are the Icelandics and Norwegians. The traditional Channel British fishing grounds extend to France’s 3 mile limit and Brit Factory Fishery vessels operate against small family French fishing boats. The agreements over timing of Brit access to these fishing grounds havre until now been governed by EU protocols. Not so anymore, hence the French fear that the Brits will show up on day #1 of the fishing season and scoop up the lot, leaving the small French fishers with nothing.

The timing of Brit fishing fleet access to these traditional areas is just a lever that Boris has to use as a stick with which to beat the EU over the head and then come to an agreement, similar to what is currently agreed, in response with something else that the UK wants from the EU. Quid pro Quo writ large.

There is a lot of that going about these days!

Also, anytime somebody can stick it to the French, I’m happy. My dad used to say that you can’t get Americans to agree on anything – except everybody hates the French

That was mostly in the North Atlantic and the North Sea fishing grounds. The Channel fisheries it’s the Brits who are the rapers modified by EU timing rules that give the small French fishers a shot at it first. Trouble is the small Brit fishers get lumped in with the big time factory fishers as well and by the time they get to the French coast there is nothing left!

    🙂

I will have to re-look, because I haven’t looked in years (not a lot but…). I will ask. There’s a Brit blog and they’re going to flay me alive, but they do tell the truth, if I can manage to navigate my way thru the cuss words I’ve never heard before & I would blush if I understood them. ok, here we go

The EU claims all UK territorial waters as the European Pond. UK waters include the North Sea, Channel, Western Approaches, Irish Sea, a huge chunk of the Atlantic, and the waters around the Hebrides. The richest fishing waters now are around the Shetlands in the northern part of the Atlantic and North Sea, where the better conservation measures of Norway and Iceland have a spillover effect. If the EU succeeds in splitting Scotland and Northern Ireland off from England it also grabs around 80% of UK Territorial Waters.
    .
    .
We have two hundred miles except where there is less, where we have half way, the other nation having their half.

Basically the EU is stuffed from Oporto to Tromso.

and this – this is what I was trying to remember

Medical waste can range from used medical consumables right through to bodies. Given the coverups endemic in Chinese media one has to assume that at least some of it involves human bodies.

Just a guess, but I suspect the virus is not as deadly as the stats from China are going to show IF patients get medical care. At this point, medical facilities have to be overwhelmed and people are probably dying from things like heart attacks that aren’t getting attention.

I think that was SO2 (Sulphur Dioxide) caused by burning human bodies and other organic waste. The death stats seem to ping-pong between 2.1 to 2.3%. Under Western medical care abet with manageable numbers is much lower but that is off very small numbers. Control in China ranges from massed patients in huge facilities with overworked staff to Police and soldiers nailing shut the door of infected houses and leaving the denizens to either die or get over it.

I noticed that 3000 PLA troops have been withdrawn from Wuhan because of the rates of infection amongst them and logically that sounds a hell of a lot higher than 2.3% !

There’s been a shooting in Germany – or several, hard to tell. So far 8 dead, 5 injured, from a drive-by. Hanau Germany. Will post a link when I find a sane one

Why, that is impossible. Germany has very strict gun control, there’s no way a person who would commit murder could get a gun and go on a shooting rampage. /s

I don’t know what a ‘shisha bar’ is. Shishkabob? Sushi? Sounds targeted, as both sites were this type of establishment

From a look-up (I love Mac, just highlight a phrase and click on “look up”):
A shisha parlor is sometimes mistakenly referred to as hookah lounge’. It is an establishment where patrons share shisha from a communal hookah or from one placed at each table or a bar.

Hmm, this sounds, oh, let’s say “Asian Gang” related.
