The Progressive have for years spread the narrative that Hispanics are people of color. They have argued that due to Hispanics being non white, they are biologically inferior and need help to make it in American society. When the George Zimmermann story first occurred the labelled him as white. The goal was to subscribe a racial motive to the shooting. When his father came out and said he was half Hispanic the media changed the description to white Hispanic. My reaction was, wow the Left finally admits that Hispanics can be white. After spending years denying our existence they now admit we do exist. Granted they did for a negative reason, but still it was a big admission.
By using the term white Hispanic the Progressives opened up a can of worms. They destroyed their own narrative of an inferior helpless oppressed brown people who need our help. By admitting that there are white Hispanics they gave the Right an opening. The Left, by throwing white Hispanics under the bus to please blacks, have shown where Hispanics stand in the Left’s racial hierarchy. We are at the bottom and must bow to the interests of Blacks and White Progressives. This can give the Right an opening.
Back in the 1960’s the Democratic Party began its shift to the Far Left. This left southern Democrats uncomfortable at the direction of their party. The Republicans took advantage of this and embraced Southern Strategy. The result is that the GOP now dominates the south and southern whites are an important part of the base. Now the Left, by admitting the existence of White Hispanics, has given the GOP an opening. Most white Hispanics are Middle Class, educated, integrated into American society and own businesses. Many are religious and love their family. This is a perfect fit for the Republican Party.
What the GOP should do is engage in White Hispanic Strategy. Acknowledge the existence of this group and respect the culture and history. By reminding white Hispanics that the Democrats will throw them under the bus to please blacks, they will come to view the GOP as their natural home. The majority of Hispanics consider themselves white according to the census. By being demonized by the Left, it has given the Right a big opportunity to wrest away Democratic voters. The question is whether the Right can see it in this term.
Many on the Right have had a hostile reaction to the term white Hispanic. They claim we don’t exist, that Hispanics can’t be white and that its just used to create a white vs. black conflict. The media is using the term white Hispanic for mischievous reasons. But the Right should instead adopt this term and use it towards their advantage as I mention above.
To those who deny the existence of white Hispanics, well here is the evidence.

Yes, white Hispanics exist and are the founders of the Hispanic culture. There are also non white Hispanics and we view them as our brothers. But there is a class distinction that should be recognized. The Democrats, by throwing white Hispanics under the bus, have committed a huge blunder. Whether the GOP will take advantage of this is yet to be seen. Judging from the hostile reaction to the term white Hispanic I am doubtful they will take advantage. Yes. the Left is using this as a negative, but the Right should use it as a positive. They have been handed a gift and don’t realize it!
