AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY UNDER ATTACK BY U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT

This is a topic that has gotten very little play in the media or blogosphere. On August 20th, the U.S. Statement Department issued a report to the U.N. which detailed the State Department’s view of human rights issues in the United States. While many countries around the world annually submit such a report to the U.N., this is the first time the United States has ever done so.

The entire report can be found here:
http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/146379.pdf

What initially brought this matter to my attention was Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s letter to the State Department demanding a retraction of this part of the report which discusses Arizona’s recent passage of S.B.1070:

“A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world,” the report says. “The issue is being addressed in a court action that argues that the federal government has the authority to set and enforce immigration law. That action is ongoing; parts of the law are currently enjoined.”

Governor Brewer wrote to Hillary Clinton:

“Simply put, it is downright offensive that the State Department included the State of Arizona and S.B. 1070 in a report to the United Nations Council on Human Rights, whose members include such renowned human rights ‘champions’ as Cuba and Libya.” Governor Brewer additionally stated, “The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a State of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional. Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. 1070 and defended vigorously by my Administration.”

Governor Brewer’s entire letter can be found here:

Of all of the obominations heaped upon our nation by the Obama regime (high taxes, huge deficits, record spending, endless apologies to the world, Obamacare, etc…), this has got to be one of the worst. The notion that the sovereignty of The United States, her laws and her people, could ever be subordinated to the dictates of the U.N., or any other law save the U.S. Constitution, is as close to treason as anything I have ever seen. However, the idea of transnationalism (or treason for that matter) coming from the democrats should come as no surprise to us. During the 2004 election campaign would-be POTUS John Kerry famously talked about the U.S. needing to “pass a global test” prior to taking pre-emptive military action against foreign threats. Further, in 1970 Kerry told the Harvard Crimson, “I’m an internationalist, I’d like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations.”

Joe Wolverton, II of the New American says that following the submission of this report to the U.N. High Commissioner of Human Rights, “U.N. Human Rights Council will conduct a final audit of the current state of the promotion of human rights in the United States. Then, it will recommend a slate of necessary reforms to the laws of the United States.” His article can be found here:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton submitted this vile piece of excrement to the U.N. Anyone who ever had the faintest idea that she is a “moderate” or “centrist” needs to get their mind right. When she runs for POTUS in the 2012 election this issue needs to be front and center.

While the O-Bomb regime slithers and dithers about the growing threat of drug cartel violence gathering on our Southern borders, Texas Governor Rick Perry has sent in the Texas Rangers for recon and special operations. The Rangers have been a cornerstone of Texas defense, law enforcement and myth since 1823 when they were first established as a unit by Stephen F. Austin.  Details of the Ranger mission are unclear, but there are people in the Department of Public Safety who feel that the Ranger presence is having an effect on the bad guys.

Reports on the missions, however, are kept under wraps to preserve “operational security,” said public safety director Steve McCraw. He also said the program doesn’t want to brag. “Have there been arrests made? Yes,” McCraw said. “Have there been drug seizures? Yes. Have there been vehicle seizures? Yes.” But asked for data on just those points, McCraw said, “That’s not how we measure them.”

Heh. Those points used to be measured in ears and scalps.

Asked whether taxpayers might feel unsettled about secret operations by a state law enforcement agency, McCraw replied: “The only ones who should feel unsettled are the (Mexican drug) cartels.”

Legend has it that those who threw down or fired on a Ranger, died with their boots on and there was no attempt to take them in to custody. To the best of my knowledge, that hasn’t changed in 170 years.

Every day we read or see on TV the news and images of the drug wars that have been plaguing Mexico for the past 3 or 4 years. Much of what we read or see is filtered by the Mexican government or MSM giving us only a one dimensional view of what is really happening.

Now comes El Blog del Narco (Warning; extremely graphic images) which gives us the details of what is really happening. The Austin American Statesman recently posted this story about Blog del Narco:

By Olga R. Rodriguez

Published: 9:23 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010

MEXICO CITY — An anonymous young blogger is giving Mexicans what they can’t get elsewhere an inside view of their country’s drug war.

Operating from behind a curtain of computer security, Blog del Narco in less than six months has become Mexico’s go-to Web site at a time when mainstream media are feeling pressure and threats to stay away from the story.
Many postings, including warnings and a beheading, appear to come directly from drug traffickers. Others depict crime scenes accessible only to military or police.

The undifferentiated content suggests that all sides are using the blog — drug gangs to project their power, law enforcement to show that it too can play rough, and the public to learn about incidents that the mainstream media are forced to ignore or play down.

The pictures and videos contained in the Blog del Narco are as bad as anything coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Problem is, this is going on in our back yard and the Obamunist regime and the Democrat Congress are doing little or nothing to secure the borders to protect us. They are, in fact, deliberately turning a blind eye to the problem for political purposes. Make no mistake; this problem is headed from our backyards to our living rooms.

One more point. Anyone who says that recreational drug use has no victims needs to take a good hard look at these images. This is what the dope dollar buys.

You can find El Blog Del Narco at this link. The blog is in Spanish, but at the top you will find a handy translator. Nice little tool.
