Mohammad Khatami has withdrawn from the Iranian vote. This is a sign the Ayatollahs like Ahmadniejad and support his agenda. Obama should take this as Iran clenching its fist. Obama will not care anyway, Iran is beloved by his Leftist friends.

Iran’s Khatami withdraws from presidential vote: allies

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Moderate former president Mohammad Khatami withdrew from Iran’s presidential election on Monday, allies said, a move analysts say may boost President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s re-election chances.

“He has decided to withdraw … but he will back another moderate candidate who will be announced shortly in a statement by Khatami,” one close ally, who declined to be named, told Reuters.

Iran is a facist regime, why it is supported by the Leftist media makes no sense.  Iran has replaced cuba as the hip, in nation with the Elite. How sick.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is icon to the Left has gotten at taste of what happened to Bush. While in a car, a shoe was thrown at him. I salute the brave Iranian that did this.

Report: Shoe hurled at Ahmadinejad in Iranian city

A shoe was recently hurled at Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad while he was in the city of Urmia, an Iranian Web site has reported.

The incident in the Iranian city was an apparent imitation of a similar attack on former U.S. president George Bush in Iraq last year.

Urmia News, the Iranian site, reported that Ahmadinejad was in a car en route to an election rally when the shoe was thrown. Ahmadinejad was traveling to a local stadium where he was meant to deliver a speech ahead of upcoming presidential elections.

I doubt the Leftist Media and Blogs will report this. This man is one of their idols, they can’t make him look bad!

purim-1At sundown tonight, the Jewish holiday of Purim begins.

Purim is an holiday of immense joy for the Jewish people. (see link above)  However, if you just want the basics of the holiday click here or here.

But for those who are feeling exceptionally lazy, here is a really super short overview:  It recounts when the Jewish people defeated the Persian king, and saved themselves from destruction.  Plus, we are commanded to get drunk.

Another important custom of Purim is giving gift baskets to the poor and to your friends.  Enjoy!

A very wonderful Purim to all of our Jewish citizens.

U.S. To Invite Iran To Afghanistan Meet

President Barack ChamberlainBRUSSELS (Reuters) – In its first public overture to Tehran, the Obama administration intends to invite Iran to an international conference on Afghanistan planned for this month, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced Thursday.

“If we move forward with such a meeting, it is expected that Iran would be invited as a neighbor of Afghanistan,” Clinton told a news conference in Brussels after meeting NATO foreign ministers.

President Barack Obama, in a dramatic turnaround from Bush administration policy, has said the United States wants to engage Iran on a range of issues and the conference invitation would be the start of diplomatic outreach to Tehran.

Clinton proposed the conference, which brings in Afghanistan’s other neighbors including Pakistan and other major players, would take place on March 31.

“It is a way of bringing all the stakeholders and interested parties together,” said Clinton.

Iran borders Afghanistan and worked closely with the United States after the U.S. military offensive there to topple the Taliban and fight al Qaeda following the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington.

The United States is at loggerheads with Iran on a range of issues, including its nuclear program which Washington says is aimed at building an atomic bomb. Tehran says its program is for peaceful power purposes.

“Our task is to dissuade them, deter them and prevent from acquiring a nuclear weapon,” Clinton said.

Call me a skeptic if you will, but I don’t think this overture is going to turn out the way the Obama Administration hopes.
