Former Speaker Sticks to Dem ‘Extreme’ Plan

I see that former Speaker of the House, Нанси Пелоси, got her talking points from fellow Demo☭rat Sen. Чак Шумер…to scare the other side of the aisle into Submission budget compromise:

“In one of the bills before us, six million seniors are deprived of meals — homebound seniors are deprived of meals. People ask us to find our common ground, the middle ground. Is middle ground three million seniors not receiving meals? I don’t think so. We’ve got to take this conversation from a debate about numbers and dollar figures and finding middle ground there to the higher ground of national values. I don’t think the American people want any one of those six million people to lose their meals or the children who are being thrown off of Head Start and the rest of it.”

Yes, the Republicans (or more properly targeted, conservatives) are being painted once again as the EEEEEEVIL, cruel, heartless thugs we’ve always been painted as. Nothing new there. The Demo☭rats may want the shutdown to occur so as to capitalize on it, but it is already backfiring with their constituents.

Today, I get to add the word former in front of Nancy Pelosi’s title as Speaker of the House.  Not enough can be said about that.  We’ll give it a try anyhow.  Without a doubt, Nancy has to be the single worst owner of that title.  Much of the debt and national deficit is blamed on a President.  It is the House which controls expenditures.  The House draws up the budget, and decides funding.  The President must agree and sign off, but the majority of control belongs to the Congress Critters.  So, during the last two years of Bush 43’s term, while San Fran Nan was using the growing deficit as a means to bludgeon Bush politically, it was more her fault than his.  Small point I know, but We’re just getting warmed up here.

Let’s start with her promises while campaigning for a Democrat takeover of the House in 2006.  Nancy promised her role as Speaker would be singularly focused on her number 1 priority, ending our dependence on foreign oil.  How do you think we did?  Nancy has done more harm to our oil industry than any other 10 Americans combined.  A self declared enemy of the oil industry, Nancy has done everything in her power to deny anyone from drilling for domestic sources of Oil.  She has made certain to limit land available for the domestic leasing programs and to hold off limits areas where oil has been shown to exist.  I am not an oil industry expert, so I will just stay with the highlights on this one.  As I understand it from friends in the business, the oil isn’t everywhere.  So, leasing land to oil companies without oil in it is not going to help them produce any domestically.  Not allowing them to drill for oil on land where we know oil is, will not help them produce oil domestically.   Oil exists in the ocean, but we have placed the restrictions in most instances on anything close to shore.  So when Nancy tells a T.V. audience that we are drilling in 5000 foot deep water because we have exhausted the supply of closer sources, that is inherently disingenuous.  Nancy’s promise to end dependence of foreign oil referred not to increasing domestic supply, but rather to force Americans to stop using oil.  If Nancy had been honest and phrased it that way, Americans would have at least known what her intentions were, and been in a better position to honestly evaluate if that is the direction they wanted to go.  Instead, when the price of gas hit $4 a gallon at the pump, Nancy wasted no time in fixing blame on the Republicans, rather than on her reckless energy policy.

Nancy promised to clean up the culture of corruption which was the Republican led Congress.  How did she do?  The list of tax cheats and felons which make up the Democrat leadership in the House, Senate, and Cabinet staggers the imagination.  These people engage in felonious behavior as a matter of course.  William Jefferson kept a Hundred Grand in cash in his freezer.  Charlie Rangle,   falsified tax returns, while telling the rest of us we needed to pay more.  Maxine Waters managed to make a $300 Million profit from the banking crisis, and labels her ethics trial as an exercise in racism.  Tim Geitner and Hillary Clinton each got off with a warning for fraudulent behaviour that would have sent any of the rest of us to jail without our $200.  Harry Reid has more than his share of problems involving Nevada Real Estate Scams.  Those are just the highlights, but the cesspool seems to be open for business and thriving.

Nancy promised transparency.  How did she do on that one?  Well, we don’t need to look too terribly far for the answer.  She passed the Health Care Law without Americans being allowed to read the bill.  As a matter of fact, most of the Congress Critters who voted in favor of it did not bother to read it either.  Along with passing the law came a plethora of documented bribes, and out right vote buying that would have sent us mere mortals to jail, once again without our $200.  Nancy’s strong armed tactics were demonstrably in opposition to the expressed will of the American People.  So much so that there were about half a million American Demonstrators lining the streets for Nancy’s now infamous walk to the Capital Building with her over sized gavel.  Nancy showed us all how completely out of touch she was with the American Mainstream that day by making a point to walk the entire distance with a smug smiling face designed clearly to taunt the concerned citizens who were there to exercise their constitutional right to voice disapproval.

Nancy promised, “Pay as you go, no new deficit spending.”  How did she do?  The deficit tripled in size during Nancy’s 4 years as Speaker.  In one last fit of dishonesty, Nancy points to CBO estimates of her legislative inflictions upon America.  First, a word about the CBO.  All the CBO is able to do is to offer an estimate based on facts provided.  So, when Congress hands a bill over for scoring with numbers that are sometimes fraudulent, and many times based on fantasy, the answer is fraudulent or based on fantasy.  So, while it is true that the CBO said the Health Care Law would save us money, it only took 25 hours for the new Law to change itself into the largest budget deficit increase in history.  There are two things which scare me about this beyond the usual terror of a disastrous idea implemented.  One, I still hear my fellow Americans parroting the already disproven CBO money saving estimate.  How long after something is shown to be false should we wait to scream in their ears to wake the f@#* up?  Two, If it took mere hours to become bad, months to become disastrous, what will this monstrosity be in 2014?

John Boehner, now is your turn.  Your turn as Speaker came about due to the American People filing a restraining order to stop the political left.  Far too many times the Republicans have taken over the reigns of power and promptly morphed into Democrats.  Even before you became speaker, many of my fellow conservatives started to show signs of anger.  We are tired of voting for people who voice our core principles and then act in opposition to those principles.  A similar restraining order can and will be filed against you if you morph into another big government capitulating Republican.  Ignore the will of the people at your own peril.

For now though, Good Bye Nancy and thanks for the memories.

Reid and Pelosi – two sitting ducks still looking to cause trouble

by Mojambo ( 157 Comments › )

The lame duck session of congress is a dangerous period for us as the  two members of the troika (Reid and Pelosi)  try to push through their liberal agenda through before the new congress  comes into play in  January 2011. Reid already is trying to ramrod the DREAM ACT through which is designed to legalize illegals and sign them up as Democrats. It seems though that the new GOP leadership is finally willing to take on the Democrats and not give in to the “reach across the aisle” mentality of  Denny Hastert/JohnMcCain Republicanism.  Let us hope so.

by Andrea Tantoros

Congress might be in what’s technically referred to as a lame-duck session, but it’s looking more like a game of political chicken.

In perhaps the brashest legislative strong-arming Republicans have mustered in months, all 42 current members of the GOP Senate conference signed a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) threatening to block his last- minute leftist agenda if it doesn’t stick to issues that include tackling taxes and spending.

The letter calls for a filibuster of any legislation not directly related to time-sensitive votes that would prevent taxes from going up for all Americans. In other words, it argues for extending the Bush tax cuts and the passage of a budget, things that Democrats have long delayed. (It’s also worth noting that if Congress doesn’t pass a budget, the government risks shutdown on Friday evening.)

The move is gutsy. It’s no holds barred. And, quite frankly, it’s necessary.

This effort, if acted on successfully, would effectively end Reid’s hopes of pushing through controversial measures — in the waning days of a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives — like the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which would permit gays in the military to serve openly , and the DREAM Act, which would give amnesty to young illegal immigrants who attend college or volunteer for the military.

By asking Democrats to focus not on their favorite social causes but the one issue Americans care about most — the one in their wallets — this letter serves as a dose of tough love for the left.

Democrats, who have long been addicts when it comes to spending, need the discipline. Call the GOP move obstructionist, call them “The Party of No,” but it’s a must if we hope to help get the economy back on track.

“Enough” is really the message the right is sending. Democratic leadership — President Obama, Reid and  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — has been detached and distracted when it comes to addressing the issues paramount to the people. They passed a climate change bill when the public wanted jobs. They rammed through a costly new entitlement program on health care reform when voters wanted spending to stop. And the Obama administration was busy suing Arizona while the stimulus bill was doling out funds to build tunnels for turtles and a sidewalk to nowhere. (Those are both real. Google them.)

After the electoral shellacking of last month’s midterm elections, the President promised that things would change. He said “we owe” it to the American people to “focus on those issues that affect their jobs.” Yet, his agenda is still honed in on issues like food safety, gays in the military and amnesty for illegal aliens — none of which even remotely address our collective economic woes.

Progressives in denial

The Progressive movement is acting as if November 2nd elections didn’t occur. They are pushing to pass Leftist policies like the Dream Act and DADT, that were rejected by the voters.  John Podesta head of the Fascistic Center for American Progress is calling for to bypass Congress and govern by executive order, the Constitution be damned! The Democrats in congress re-elected Tranzi Totalitarian radical Nancy Pelosi to lead them in the minority status. Harry Reid feel empowered after defeating the pathetic and his hand picked opponent Sharon Angle, who will soon be some Casino greater in Vegas. The Left claims they lost the election because they didn’t get their message out, a total lie since they control the media. Their latest spin if that the message of the election was they want the voters to work together. This is hogwash and it shows the state of denial the Progressives are in about the public and the rejection of their radical agenda.

Pick your favorite: “Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.” Or, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”

Either way, the wisdom is wasted on President Obama and congressional Democrats. They learned nothing from the historic shellacking voters gave them.

[….]

Ridiculed for first claiming they lost because of a failure to communicate, Dems have a new talking point. Call it the failure equivalence theory.

Voters don’t “have a lot of faith in the Republican Party and they don’t have a lot of faith in the Democratic Party,” Vice President Joe Biden now says. “And so they’re saying, ‘OK, we want you guys to work together.’ “

This shows the Neo-Feudal attitude of the Progressive movement. They feel that because they went to elite Ivy League schools and that they were born with silver spoons in their mouth, that it’s the right to rule. Leftists feel they have a right to reorder society and treat the American public as pawns for their wacky social experiments. Even after being rejected by the public, they continue with their elitist agenda. Clearly Progressives are not grounded in reality and this makes them dangerous and why they must be defeated.
