Anthony Weiner in the lead for NYC Mayor Democrat Party nomination

Mark Sanford overcame cheating and made a political comeback. Now it appears the same can happen with the disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner. he is running for the Democrat nomination for NYC Mayor and now has a lead according to a new poll.

Democratic mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner has surged ahead of his opponents in a new NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal poll, transforming himself in just a few weeks from disgraced has-been to mayoral front-runner.

Weiner, who entered the race two years after resigning his congressional seat amid a sexting scandal, now leads City Council Speaker Christine Quinn in the crowded Democratic primary, setting up a new phase in what could end up being a remarkable political comeback.

Weiner leads Quinn 25 percent to 20 percent among registered Democrats, the poll by Marist found. That’s a flip-flop from the last survey in May, when Quinn, the longtime front-runner, led Weiner 24 percent to 19 percent.

Just as telling is the number of registered New York voters who said they might vote for Weiner. Forty-nine percent said they’d consider it, up from 40 percent two months ago, before Weiner entered the race. Those who said they wouldn’t consider voting for him dropped from 52 percent to 45 percent.

As crazy as this sounds, Anthony Weiner is the most sane one out of the Democrats running for NYC Mayor. The rest are hardcore Marxists or Union patsies. Should Weiner win it will demonstrate the American voting public is very forgiving. Mark Sanford can testify about the forgiveness of the voting public.

This may sound crazy, but Anthony Weiner will be one of the saner candidates running for NYC Mayor.

Anthony Weiner’s bid to rise from the political dead is ready to begin in earnest — the disgraced former congressman will announce he is running for mayor as early as next week, according to sources.

“He’s definitely running,” one Weiner ally told The Post.

After weeks of hinting at a run, Weiner has taken a major step toward firing up his campaign by hiring a manager to guide his mayoral bid, according to a report.

Weiner has tapped political adviser Danny Kedem, who recently worked on a Staten Island congressional race, to run his impending mayoral campaign, according to a report on Politico.com.

I’m sure Mark Sanford will endorce him!

Mayor Mike Bloomberg wants to control every aspect of New Yorkers’ lives. First he went after salt and soda. Now he is targeting something he himself enjoys. Bloomberg want to restrict the number of establishments that s alcohol. This is a throwback to the prohibition, which was supported by Progressives.

Mayor Bloomberg yesterday scuttled a controversial city proposal to slash the number of booze establishments to curb excessive and underage drinking.

Critics had slammed the measure as a jobs-killer.

The Post yesterday revealed the Health Department’s plan, which drew outrage from responsible city drinkers and merchants.

Asked if the mayor now backed the effort to limit businesses that can serve alcohol, Bloomberg spokesman Stu Loeser answered, “No.”

So The Mayor  denies he planned it? He may not implement it in one shot. Bloomberg will begin restricting alcohol sales, step by step. This is a pure control over personal liberty by Progressive Big Government.

In a stunning blow to New York City voters, Alec Baldwin has announced he will not run for Mayor in 2013.

The 2013 mayoral race just got a lot less fun.

Alec Baldwin claimed Wednesday he is abandoning his much-discussed plans to make a run for City Hall.

“I’ve lost my appetite,” Baldwin said on his weekly WNYC podcast.

The “30 Rock” star claimed the other mayoral candidates’ naked ambition turned him off — and he threw cold water on his plans to run in two years

What a tragedy!

The sad part is Baldwin probably could have won!
