Al-Qaeda’s Successes in Syria

JabhaAlNosra

The events of the past few weeks has shown that al-Qaeda’s Syrian branch, the al-Nusra front is the most effective fighting force of the Syrian rebels. They have achieved victories against Assad’s forces and have battered Hizb’Allah. They have spectacular suicide bombing attacks on Assad Regime targets and even killed an Iranian al-Quds force commander. Their success is ironically due to the US.

Al-Nusra Front is actually an offshoot of al-Qaeda in Iraq. During the Iraq war, Bashar Assad allowed al-Qaeda to set up bases in Syria to use against Americans in Iraq. During the conflict, al-Qaeda acquired combat skills from fighting American forces. When the war ended they never left Syria. Instead they began to recruit Syrians into al-Qaeda. When Bashar Assad began cracking down on anti-Regime protests led by the Muslim Brotherhood an Islamist armed revolt began. Al-Nusra then used the skills they acquired fighting Americans against Assad’s forces. This has made al-Qaeda’s SYrian branch one of the organization’s greatest successes.

JabhatalNusra

Al Qaeda’s franchise in Syria, just one year old, is now the fastest growing al Qaeda front in the world, attracting fighters from across the Islamic world. Jabhat al Nusra, translated variously as the Victory Front or the Support Front for the Syrian People, was founded in January 2012, almost a year after the first demonstrations against the dictatorship of President Basher al Assad. It was created with the assistance of the al Qaeda franchise in Iraq that was formed nearly a decade ago during the American invasion. The Iraqi base provided a safe haven for setting up the front in Syria and still provides sanctuary for the Syrian group to this day.

The Syrian franchise has also gotten crucial support from the al Qaeda core in Pakistan. Al Qaeda’s Amir Ayman Zawahiri issued a public call in February 2012 in which he demanded that “every Muslim and every free and honest person in Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon to rise and help their brothers in Syria with everything they have and can do.” Zawahiri’s call, just after the announcement of the creation of the al Nusra front and its first major attacks in Aleppo, was clearly coordinated with the fighters on the ground. Since Zawahiri’s call at least one senior member of the al Qaeda shura council in Pakistan has traveled to Syria to further coordinate plans and operations with the core hiding in Pakistan. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton termed the exchanges of messages between al Qaeda in Pakistan and al Nusra in Syria as “deeply disturbing” in one of her final interviews in office.

Estimates of the size of the al Nusra organization vary but they may now account for up to a quarter of the opposition fighters in Syria. The al Qaeda presence is stronger around Aleppo and the north than around Damascus, but it is becoming a national phenomenon. Without doubt, they are among the most effective fighters in the resistance to the Assad regime and the most willing to use multiple simultaneous suicide bombings, an al Qaeda trademark. Al Qaeda in Iraq has a wealth of experience in developing large sophisticated bombs – experience that has been exported into Syria.

And the front is attracting more fighters rapidly, not just among Syrians but from across the Muslim world

The Syrian War has become a wet dream for al-Qaeda. Damascus was the first capital of the Arab Caliphate, when Syria was seized by the Arabs from the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantines) in 636. This is one of the motivations for al-Qaeda who believe history is repeating itself. They are in the lead of the revolt against Assad and have been able to outfight his forces and their Lebanese Shia allies.

Despite al-Qaeda clearly leading the revolt against Assad, many Democrats and Republicans continue to call for arming the Syrian rebels. Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) is planning to introduce a bill to arm the Syrian Rebels. The sad part is that thanks to the interventionist/Nation Building ideology of the Republican elite, this could very well happen. When will ever learn to let the Mideast burn and self destruct?

Bashar Assad has only himself to blame for this current predictament. He invited al-Qaeda into Syria to kill Americans in Iraq. Now they are going after him and have turned on their former allies Hizb’Allah. This shows the futility in dealing with the Islamic world. If they turn in each other, they will turn on the Kuffar.

British Marxist and Islamist sympathizer George Galloway shows his Jew Hatred and cowardice. In an Oxford University debate about Israel, Galloway walked out after he discovered one of the participants was Israeli. He then revealed his racist colors.

George Galloway, a British lawmaker known for his anti-Israel positions and support of Hamas, caused a minor uproar at Oxford University when he abruptly left a debate after realizing his opponent is Israeli.

“I have been misled,” said Galloway when Eylon Aslan-Levy, an Israeli student, confessed his nationality.

[….]

“I don’t debate with Israelis,” Galloway said, got up hurriedly, got his coat, and stormed out.

Upon leaving he reiterated: “I don’t recognize Israel and I don’t debate with Israelis.”

George Galloway is a racist and a coward.

Syrian War Porn: Al-Qaeda bombs Syrian Party HQ.

A massive car bomb explosion in the Syrian capital, Damascus, has killed at least 53 people and injured another 200, reports say.

Syria blamed “terrorist groups linked to al-Qaeda” for the blast, which hit a central district near the headquarters of Syria’s ruling Baath Party.

TV pictures showed images of bodies, wrecked cars and shattered windows.

The violence comes as Russia and the Arab League say they want to broker direct government-opposition talks.

No group has yet admitted the attack.

The Syrian foreign ministry blamed the bombing on “armed terrorist groups linked to al-Qaeda that receive financial and logistic help from abroad”.

The militant Islamist al-Nusra Front previously said it had carried out many of the bombings that have rocked Syria since the uprising began in March 2011

In even better news, Syrian Rebels and al-Qaeda have launched attacks against Hizb’Allah both in Syria and Lebanon.

Syrian rebels have reportedly bombed two compounds operated by the Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah, the main Syrian opposition group announced Thursday.

The Free Syrian Army (FSA) claims its forces bombed Hezbollah facilities in Lebanon and Syria, a cross-border raid that indicates the rebels’ desire to increase their attacks on allies of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Assad gave sanctuary to al-Qaeda during the Iraq War. Now they have turned their guns on his regime and their former allies Hizb’Allah. I am enjoying this conflict with a passion.

Once former allies and now bitter enemies, the al-Qaeda vs Hizb’Allah fight has now spread out of Syria and into the latter group’s homeland. Hizb’Allah has put iots forces on alert after one of its patrols was ambushed by Syrian al-Qaeda (the al-Nusra Front) in Southern Lebanon. This is the first act committed by al-Qaeda against its former ally in Lebanon.

Hezbollah has announced that its ranks are now on full alert in eight overlapping Lebanese-Syrian border towns following an attack that was carried out by Syria’s Al-Nusra Front against a Hezbollah patrol.

“Hezbollah had reached an agreement with the Free Syrian Army by means of direct talks to keep these towns away from the ongoing conflict in Syria,” Lebanese sources told Turkish Anadolu news agency on Wednesday.

The sources also said that “thirteen Al-Nusra Front members attacked a Hezbollah patrol in the Lebanese southern town of Zeeta which led to the death of three of the Shiite group’s members.”

“Hezbollah had previously placed a number of cannons and missiles in [Syria’s southern] towns, these armaments have been there since before the uprising began in Syria,” they added.

The al-Qaeda vs. Hizb’Allah fight is a case of evil vs. evil. Let these 2 evil entities kill each other!

Syrian Islamist rebels claim to have killed 43 members of Hizb’Allah in clashes in the Qusayr region near the Syrian-Lebanese border.

The death toll of Hezbollah fighters reportedly taking part in major combat operations in Syria’s Homs continued to rise Monday, with rebels telling NOW that 43 members of the Shiite party had been killed.

“Sixteen dead [Hezbollah] militants were taken to the Baalbek Al-Zahraa Hospital,” Council Chief and Qusayr Brigade Commander Lieutenant Mohyi ed-Dine el-Zein said.

“Hezbollah shelled Al-Qusayr towns…and we killed 43 of its members, including Ali Radwan Medlej, Abbas Al-Haqq, Hussein kheireddine, Fady Taha, Diyaa Hussein Msarra, and Oussama Rashid Msarra.”

He added that wounded Hezbollah fighters had been “taken to Al-Amal hospital in Lebanon’s Hermel.”

“The clashes erupted when Hezbollah members snuck into the Qusayr town of Abou Houri on Sunday at 5:30 in the morning… but the FSA guards detected their movement and called for back-up,” Zein also told NOW.

The FSA official continued: “A battle then erupted between us and the Hezbollah members who are supported by regime troops. As a result we forced them to retreat.”

Let them kill each other.
