Tim Tebow returns

The Eagles have signed Tim Tebow to a one year deal as a backup QB.

Tim Tebow plans to sign a one-year deal Monday with the Eagles, a league source said Sunday night.

Tebow flew in to Philadelphia on Sunday night in time to be in attendance for the start of the Eagles’ offseason program Monday.

Philadelphia has finalized an agreement with the 27-year-old Tebow, the framework of which was put into place when he worked out for the team last month.

Before signing Tebow, the Eagles first wanted to try to trade backup quarterback Matt Barkley. But when the team could not get enough in return, it decided to bring in Tebow anyway so that he could be present for the team’s entire off-season program.

Tebow now will join a crowded Eagles’ quarterback roster that includes Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Barkley, giving Philadelphia three former first-round picks at the quarterback position in addition to another decorated college player. And it also will reunite Tebow and Sanchez, who were teammates with the New York Jets.

In a move no one saw coming, the New England Patriots signed Tim Tebow.

The New England Patriots will sign Tim Tebow, league sources told ESPN.

The Patriots are signing Tebow, who is expected to participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp Tuesday, as a quarterback, according to sources.

If any team is equipped to handle the potential media circus that Tim Tebow will bring to New England, it certainly is the Patriots, writes Mike Reiss.

The move reunites Tebow with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos‘ head coach when Denver traded into the first round to draft the Heisman Trophy winner in 2010.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick often has spoken with admiration for Tebow’s versatility, intelligence and character. Belichick covets what he has described as tough, smart, versatile football players.

Christians have for centuries been on the look out for the anti-Christ. Many political figures have been called the anti-Christ. Well this video suggests it’s Tim Tebow!

This is too funny!

Three games left in the regular season! Doesn’t seem all that long ago we were shaking our heads, wringing our hands and hoping we were going to have a season at all. Football Savant Offspring will be in the stands at the Detroit-Oakland game this week, so my house will be free of boozing Gen-Y craziness and I’ll be able to enjoy my game on the big screen, dining on quiche and mimosas. If the game is on in your area, look for the FSO – he’ll be the one in the stands reacting to a penalty call like the World is suddenly unsafe for Democracy.

Here are today’s matchups:

Miami @ Buffalo — Hell, at the beginning of the season, who would have thought Miami had great games in them? This might be one to watch if it’s in your market.

Seattle @ Chicago – There’s Pacific Northwest Cold and there’s Midwest Cold. I think Midwest Cold gets home field advantage in this one.

Carolina @ Houston – I have a feeling next year I’ll be calling him Cam Effing Newton.

Tennessee @ Indianapolis – Dear Andrew Luck: Enjoy your new location. Sorry about the Heisman (not).

Green Bay @ Kansas City – Aaron Effing Rodgers and Company going for win no. 14. Can they do it?

New Orleans @ Minnesota – after the embarrassment suffered after my arrogant snotting at the St. Louis Rams, I’m not writing off the Vikes. Best Friend Jane and I will be texting furiously, for sure.

Washington @ NY Giants – Okay, Rodan, John Difool…..let’s keep it civil guys.

Cincinnati @ St. Louis – Let’s see if the programming wizards give this game to the Pittsburgh market to watch, thereby sending everyone to the other network.

Cleveland @ Arizona – Of course, poor Pittsburgh will probably get this as their afternoon selection…..

Detroit @ Oakland – Just let my kid get out of the Coliseum alive. Please.

New England @ Denver – Oakland fans will find themselves in the unenviable spot of wanting an New England win, but hell, I like that Tebow kid! Especially since his devotion and decency is pissing off all the right people.

NY Jets @ Philadelphia – You know, if I was a team owner and we were home against Philly, I’d play “Who Let the Dogs Out” every time Vick took the field. (Hey, I never said I was a monument to justice…..)

Baltimore @ San Diego – I see this one going to overtime, pissing off all the libturds on the East Coast waiting for the “Survivor” finale to start. They went apeshit last weekend because “The Amazing Race” started 40 minutes late.

Monday’s Game

Pittsburgh @ San Francisco – the locals will be in front of my house with pitchforks, but I want a Pittsburgh win here (plus I like my Steeler fan buddies on the blog). Anything that gives the Saints a better cushion in the playoffs against the 49ers is welcome.

Oh, and while I’m thinking of it. San Francisco libturd sports columnist Glenn Dickey (writing for the daily giveaway paper that is so bad they can’t even charge you for it) was especially dismissive of Tebow in his column today, saying the while the kid is having a good year, he can’t really compete in the NFL after this season and Denver needs to look for another quarterback. But Dickey just loves him some local boy Tom Brady, which begs the question is…..which of these two would you rather have for a son-in-law?
