Despite international pressure and even reports of Saudi bribery Colombia refused to throw Israel under the bus. They know full well the consequences of standing by Israel and are prepared for the international demonization. Colombians love the fact that by supporting Israel it’s their way of giving the world the finger.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was recently in Colombia hoping to change their minds. Miguel Santos refused and said only through negotiations can they achieve a State. Clearly Abbas was frustrated dealing with Colombian stubbornness.

This picture says it all!

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has rejected a blueprint for talks with Israel. He claims Palestinian conditions are not being met.

Abbas further suggested that he was likey to reject a peacemaking blueprint put forward by international mediators, saying he would not agree to any proposal that disregarded the Palestinian conditions for a resumption of peace talks.

The Palestinian president told reporters accompanying him that he was still studying the proposal by the peacemaking Quartet, but he appeared to tip his hand by saying that “we will not deal with any initiative” that doesn’t demand a halt to Israeli settlement construction or negotiations based on lines Israel held before capturing land the Palestinians claim for their state.

I don’t know how Israel gets tagged as the party that refuses to talk. Clearly the Palis are the problem here.

Despite Obama’s lecture, The Palestinians went ahead and presented their statehood bid at the UN.

UNITED NATIONS – Defying U.S. and Israeli opposition, Palestinians asked the United Nations on Friday to accept them as a member state, sidestepping nearly two decades of failed negotiations in the hope this dramatic move on the world stage would reenergize their quest for an independent homeland.

Shortly after submitting the application to U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was greeted by sustained applause and appreciative whistles as he approached the dais to deliver a speech outlining his people’s hopes and dreams of becoming a full member of the United Nations.

The Palestinians like all Arabs live ina  fantasy world. This is  a failure of Obama’s policies.

Colombia to Oppose Palestinian statehood bid

This comes as no surprise to me. Israel and Colombia are allies. Plus Colombians are contrarians and the fact Israel is not liked, makes them support Israel even more. From a Colombian view, they have the resources, Israel the technology. It’s a win win for both antions. In a  speech to the UN, Colombian President Miguel Santos defended Colombia’s decision to abstain from voting.

President Juan Manuel Santos defended Colombia‘s decision to abstain from voting on Palestinian statehood by asserting that bilateral diplomacy is the “only road” to lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority in his speech on Wednesday to the United Nations General Assembly.

“We are concerned -like the rest of the international community- with the suspension of the peace talks and we urge -more than urge, we implore- the parties to return to negotiations as soon as possible, because this is the only, I repeat the only, road that leads to what we all want: two states living in peace and security,” said Santos.

“We therefore have to commit ourselves to strengthen and apply the peaceful methods of dispute settlement established under Chapter Six of the United Nations’ Charter. Because the more effective we are in the use of preventative diplomacy, the less need there will be for interventions.”

Colombia just gave the finger to the Progressive-Islamic Axis. I am sure, they will now be subject to attacks by Leftist NGOs and a future bombing campaign by NATO.  Actually they already have been. It never ends well for critics of Colombia.

The National Unity Party of Colombia and its Coalition Partner are not scared of the International community.
