Pamela Geller posts that in addition to the Aqsa Parvez garden erected in the town of Pelham in Canada, Atlas readers have planted a grove of trees in American Independence Park in Jerusalem, Israel, through the Jewish National Fund.

There will also be a plaque to commemorate the grove of trees which will read:

In Loving Memory of

Aqsa Parvez

and

All Victims of Honor Killings Worldwide

The plaque is 4 X 4 and it will be green to indicate Atlas’ designation to the grove.  It will take about 24 months to put the plaque up.  Pamela suggested and I agree that we should all go when the plaque goes up.

It is my understanding that the plaque will go here:

AIPWall

Atlas Shrugs’ post, with additional information, can be found here.

I personally do not know enough about this story to comment about it specifically.  However, I want to personally give credit to Robert, Pamela and their readers/posters for going beyond putting mere words on their respective internet blogs and actually taking ACTION in the real world.  These two memorials for Aqsa prove that when Conservatives do more than just talk, we can get things done!  May this be just the beginning!

Comments and respectful debate are both welcome and encouraged.

Comments are the sole opinion of the comment writer, just as each thread posted is the sole opinion or post idea of the administrator that posted it or of the readers that have written guest posts for the Blogmocracy.

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
