Bob’s Big Boy, located at 4211 Riverside Drive in Burbank California. This is the oldest remaining Bob’s Big Boy restaurant in the United States. Built in 1949 and designed by the late Los Angeles architect Wayne McAllister in the traditional 40’s streamline modern style combined with 50’s freeform also called Googie architecture which originated in Southern California.

This towering sign is the restaurants most prominent feature. Originally designed as a drive-in restaurant with carhop service, it now features a circular drive-thru also designed by the late Wayne McAllister.

Picture taken with a Fuji FinePix A340, hand held. We don’t need no stinking tripods!
Strangely this digital camera took this picture much better then the more expensive Fuji S5000. Perhaps the operator is the problem?

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
