Today is Tax Day, April 15th. All across the nation, there were Tea Party Protests. There was one here in Oklahoma City, so I thought that I’d check it out.
Here is what I saw.
First, Let me preface this by noting that I also went to a Cindy Rally at this same spot a few years back, where I was told that hundreds and hundreds of people came, though the pictures I took showed no more than maybe 75.
Like before, I showed up about 10 minutes before it was scheduled to start. Before I had to walk 2 or 3 hundred yards to get to the area. This time, I had to drive around for nearly half an hour trying to FIND a place to park. I ended up giving up and saw where there were a couple biker parked, sitting on their bikes, near the crowd.

Bikers, by the way, were represented.
Had to be a couple dozen bikes there.
So. How busy was this place? Here are more pictures…

To the Right
.
So, here’s what all happened, in light of the recent DHS report that us right wing loons are psychos that need to be watched….. We cheered. We talked about the future. We talked about our Founding Fathers and the Constitution and the fight for keeping our country on the same track that we have always been on until the ‘big government’ mentality started to take over.
I felt bad in that there were so many people that I was unable to get any good pictures of the crowd or those speaking. I did see many “Don’t Tread on Me” flags, many posters and signs saying that we’re taxed too much and that spending more of our money under the guise of stimulus is going to hurt us, not help us.
I saw more hatred and rabid speech at the Cindy “Anti-War Candlelight Vigil” a few years ago. These were Americans.
Meanwhile, I’m back at home now, listening to the news. Apparently the President ignored us.
How telling.
Update at 3:42 cst:
I went for another short ride. This is a second attempt to get the rest of the pictures in there:

Freedom WOrks, Stimulus Hurts!
