I thought we’d have an open thread to show the difference between 1.0 and us. A few days ago Charles posted a picture of part of his handlebar. Some of the minions there swooned. I thought, “Heck, I can do that.”
Here’s the handlebar from my 2001 Suzuki Marauder:

Here’s my trip today…
I went from northwest Oklahoma City to Arcadia. Nice little 65 mile round trip. Once I got past the Turnpike……

… things opened up and it was a pretty sight indeed. Oklahoma is a very pretty state, with a lot of nice riding to behold. Here’s an example:

Oh, and to remind me that I was still in Oklahoma and hadn’t managed to find my way to Utopia….

Yup, an oil pump. What a great thing to see, going strong. But not all in nature is machinery, there are also some good agriculture sights as well:

As you get close to Arcadia, you find a great place called Pop’s. You know when you’re getting close, as you see a giant soda bottle in the sky….

But Pop’s is more than a statue, as you can see:

It is also a gas station (Ethanol Free) and has a restaurant. However, it is the soda that makes Pop’s great. I couldn’t even begin to count how many different types of soda they have, but to help out, I counted every type of grape soda: 16. 16 different types of just purple grape soda.
I went with a nice Route 66 Dark Cherry soda, myself.
Arcadia, however, is known or something else, something older. The Round Barn.

There’s a gift shop. The joke is, what you’re looking for is in the corner. I didn’t quite get it, but after 4 hours looking for the corner, I gave up and went home. (Yes, I’m kidding).
Also, for the biker folks, there’s a biker shop there. Pretty small, but some good stuff in there. If you’re near Arcadia, check it out:

All in all, a nice little ride.
