Possibly Appearing Soon on LGF 1.0? – More Right Wing Fringe Websites Call for Revolution

I went dumpster diving out back behind the “Lizard Lounge” over at 1.0 and found this apparent rough draft of a post Charles might be planning.  Looks like he’s discovered yet more dangerous right wing extremists who are planning a revolution. (By the way, folks, this is satire.)


Following up on my post from yesterday that outed Jim Thompson, the founder of the right wing website Free Republic, for calling for a revolution to overturn the results of last November’s election, it seems the kook right wing fringe blogosphere’s case of Obama Derangement Syndrome is getting even worse. Obviously echoing Thompson’s extremist rhetoric, the kookish Sam Adams over at The Original Tea Party Guy gives us this little gem,

 “The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.”

But I’m sure he doesn’t mean anything violent by that, of course. Wink wink, nudge nudge. Adams’ fellow tax protestor, John Marshall who posts at the subversively named Free the Supreme Court, tells us,

“An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation.”

Sheesh, how does Marshall think we’re going to fund the health care we need if we don’t have taxes? He’s probably another one of those “patriots” who wants to see Obama fail to save the economy. And I’m sure he’s a racist who doesn’t want Sotomayor on the Supreme Court, either. There is something seriously wrong with the water over there in Ronpaulistan.

As another example, see the incitements to violence by Thompson’s wacko fellow-traveller at Hanover County “Patriot”,

“It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace — but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

Just a little bit pretentious, don’t you think? No wonder the conservative movement has been discredited by its own reactionary fringe. We can only hope that the FBI is keeping a close watch on this Henry guy. Another nugget of wisdom from the same site,

“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.”

No wonder Colin Powell doesn’t want to have anything to do with these loons anymore.  By the way, this Patrick Henry is also a creationist. Surprise, surprise.

Lastly, check this out, from a theocratic site called Independence Now,

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness….”

Good grief.
