In an irony of history scientists, who at one time were persecuted themselves, have now become the Inquisitors. They attack and mock anyone who questions their work as anti-science. This is not the attitude of most scientists, such as Dr. Michio Kaku, who is amazing in describing Physics to average people. It is the Radical Progressive Scientists pushing the Marxist oriented Global Warming scam. Climategate has done damage to this theory, but it has not stopped them from pushing the lie. The Tranzi movement is going ahead with their Copenhagen summit, regardless of the truth.
In the most notorious trial in the history of science, the Inquisition condemned Galileo in 1633. The aged scientist was forced to recant his life’s work. The fact that the earth revolves around the sun threatened the church establishment’s doctrine. Galileo was worse than right — he was inconvenient.
Since his trial, scientists have mythologized him as their secular saint.
How times have changed: With the Climategate scandal, we now find scientists in the role of inquisitors — suppressing inconvenient facts and persecuting researchers who challenge the doctrine decreed by the Global Warming clergy.

Ralph Peters hits another home run with his article. Science is supposed to be about questioning and debate. When debate is silenced, this is actually anti-scientific. It restricts new possible ideas and possible the correct analysis of what is going on. This is scientic Totalitarianism and the culmination of a trend that began in the late 19th/early 20th Century.
Science, since the beginning of the last century, has been infiltrated by Politics. In particular, the Progressive Movement has been twisting science. Eugenics and Social Darwinism, both of which led to the concept of a superior race, are examples of Progressive based science that has an agenda. Now it is Global Warming that is the latest example of Progressive Political Science. The propenents of this theory are totalitarian radicals who seek to scare the populace so they can achieve power. Here is an example of how they ignore facts in the video below:
Notice that they leave out the fact that Earth has been much warmer in human history. Clearly the Global Warming Theory is just another example of Progressives using any means to impose their sinister agenda on Humanity.

That is my philosophy as well. I want to preserve nature, but not make humans slaves to Progressive elites.
