The Arabic Occupation Army of Lebanon, Hizb’allah, has supported the recent “popular uprisings” in the middle east. They backed the Muslim Brotherhood led protests in Egypt and sent fighters into Libya. Well when it comes to Bashar Assad’s regime, they are on the opposite side.

Syrians opposition leaders have reported that members of Hizb’allah have assisted the Assad regime. Their excuse is that Assad is fighting Israel, so they stand by him. This has made them look like hypocrites to many. To make up for this hypocrisy and help Assad, they might start a war with Israel. A war would get the world’s attention off Assad and onto Israel. Even if Hizb’allah starts it, Israel will be demonized. Hizb’allah knows to play the Western media and are preparing for a showdown.

BEIRUT – Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group is preparing for a possible war with Israel to relieve perceived Western pressure to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, its guardian ally, sources close to the movement say.

The radical Shi’ite group, which has a powerful militia armed by Damascus and Iran, is watching the unrest in neighboring Syria with alarm and is determined to prevent the West from exploiting popular protests to bring down Assad.

Hezbollah supported pro-democracy movements that toppled Western-backed leaders in Tunisia and Egypt, but officials say it will not stand idly by as international pressure mounts on Assad to yield to protesters.

It is committed to do whatever it takes politically to help deflect what it sees as a foreign campaign against Damascus, but it is also readying for a possible war with Israel if Assad is weakened.

If Hizb’allah wants to gamble on a war with Israel at a time the Syrian regime has internal troubles, well go ahead. They will have no resupply routes or places to store their weapons. The Israel of 2011 is not the one of 2006. The IDF has prepared for conflict with Hizb’allah and has better intelligence. The only part of their reasoning that is correct is that the Western Media would forget Syria’s trouble and condemn Israel. The Obama Regime may also pressure Israel to not go all out.

If Hizb’allah starts a conflict to help Syria it will be a huge miscalculation.
