Over the years many of us watched Apple grow into what it is today, and are simply amazed. Yet, we all knew that there would come a time where its main guiding force, Steve Jobs, would step down as CEO.
As of yesterday, that time has now arrived:

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
Steve

I have been a Mac owner for two decades…and now also a new iPad owner, from which this post is written (well, most of it anyway; I still had to go back to the Mac to insert the photo and categorize this!). It is his vision that inspires me to this day as I look to transform my career.
So, anyone who who has an iPad, please take a moment to share your experiences with it. I am still on the learning curve.
Please feel free to leave your comments about Jobs’ decision. He’s not gone entirely…he is taking a different role as Chairman of the Board.
THANK YOU, Steve, for everything that you’ve done to help us better connect with the world.

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
