Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his 29-year marriage to his his wife, Lyudmila, was over – after removing his wedding band as they watched the ballet together.
The 60-year-old and his 55-year-old wife broke the news of the end of the 29-year marriage in an obviously staged TV interview after a night at the ballet.
Before the ballet at the Kremlin Palace, Putin was pictured wearing his wedding ring, but he must have removed it during the performance because he was not wearing it by the time he left and was interviewed.
And right on cue, he has a so-called “mop-up” operation against the Mohammedans (not that they didn’t deserve it) to divert the Russian People’s attention:
MOSCOW (al-Reuters) – Russian police rounded up 300 people at a Muslim prayer room in Moscow on Friday after President Vladimir Putin ordered a crackdown on radical Islamists ahead of next year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Putin has put security forces on high alert to safeguard the Games in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, which lies near to mainly Muslim southern provinces where Russia is battling an Islamist insurgency that has targeted Moscow.
“We must fight back hard against extremists who, under the banners of radicalism, nationalism and separatism, are trying to split our society,” Putin said.
“The policy in the fight against corruption, crime and the insurgency has to be carried out harshly and consistently,” Putin told a meeting of security force officers.
“The situation in the North Caucasus should be kept under particular control.”
